I love my Joy-Con charging grip. It's fantastic to not have to worry about putting my Joy-cons back on the system in order to charge them. However, this is really only necessary if you plan on leaving your system docked all the time. Otherwise, putting your Joy-Cons back on the Switch will charge them and do the same job.

all nintendo switch owners should have one. You can actually charge your joy one while using this accessory unlike the one that comes with the switch. Plastic is of higher quality/aesthetic too.

At first it appeared that one came with the console itself. The one with the console does not charge. This one came with a nice charging cable. Works great!

This is a great way to charge your joycons without having to switch them over to the original charging dock. Just keep them plugged in after using them, then BAM next time you play they are ready

Works just as listed to allow for secondary charging with its grip. This allows us to charge a set attached to console and in this.

Super ergonomic for a child and adult. It is perfect when I race my son so we have our own controllers. It is way better than using the single Joy-Cons.

I was excited to find the charging grip for Switch. So much easier for my 5 yr old to plug this is in rather then try to detach the controllers from the other one.

While you can use the joy cons without this charging grip, these make holding and using the joy cons much easier for most gameplay.

You get a joycon grip with your switch, but it doesn't charge the joycons. They only charge when docked with the actual console...unless you have one of these as backup. Worth the extra $ for the power backup

I had a different thought of what the charging grip did but it still does the job. Once you turn off the system you can leave the joy cons on the grip and plug the grip to a wall socket charge your joy cons

Love that this charges the second set of controllers. Also love the fact I can use it for a bigger controller my hands hurt when only using one side of the controllers

My son loves the Joy-Con Charging Grip. Now we can charge the Joy-Con controllers without having to have them attached to the Switch unit. Have had no issues with connectivity.

This grip is exactly like the one that comes with the switch, except it has the ability to charge the joy-cons using a USB-C cable. Feels great in the hands, and charges pretty quickly from what I can tell.

It is a great grip and holds the joy cons in place firmly. I like being able to recharge them without connecting directly to the console. Though, I thought originally that it held a charge without being plugged in but it does not, must be plugged in to charge.

The standard version of this Joy-Con grip does not have a charging port. This minor upgrade allows you to charge the Joy-Cons without removing them from the grip. Well worth the minor upgrade.

This is the JoyCon grip that should have shipped with the Switch. The pricing for additional JoyCons and accessories are ridiculously high. Nintendo should be ashamed. But these little controllers pack a lot of tech in them. Still, this adapter should have been free, it doesn't do much to justify the price.

This basically allows you to use and charge your Joycons while playing a docked system. It is not an external battery that holds a charge. You must be tethered. For that purpose, it's good. High quality, all that stuff. Minus one star for the fact that that's really the only useful situation I can think of for it.

Amazing that the Joy Con grip that comes with the switch does not have a port to plug in to charge. This one does. Otherwise it works identical to the one that comes in Switch package.

This works exactly as you would expect. You can put the two small controllers together and play with a big controller while simultaneously charging them. My only complaint is that this seems like something that should be included when you buy the system, rather than an additional accessory to have to purchase.
