It's unfortunately a necessity to have a second set of controllers to charge and play with. It works as advertised, nothing more.

If you buy additional Joy-Cons and would like to be able to use them as a traditional controller, then this item is a must!

Works like it is supposed to. Just awesome. My daughter loves using this controller. This should have come with the switch.

I wish the Joy-Con grip that came with the Switch could charge like this one can. Either way it works as expected.

If like my kids, any interruption to game play is met with anguish and sometimes tears (i.e. recharge time). This is very useful. It allows you to play and charge at the same time.

I like that this allows me to charge my two extra controllers and play. The extra cable adds a little bit of a mess to the rest of the cables going into the switch but it's not a deal breaker.

I really like the joy con charging grip. It's not heavy nor does it make my hands sweat. They are just the right size for gaming.

If you're buying extra Joy-Cons you need this, which pushes the price of a full controller into absurd price territory. The only feature it has over the grip that comes with the Switch is the charging cord.

I wish this grip was included with the Switch console, that would've been nice of Nintendo. Thankfully it's not overpriced, $29.99. Not a a necessity but it's nice not to worry about the joy cons losing their charge.

This is a must have if buying a set of joy cons. I don't mind playing Mario kart on a single joy con but when I need to charge and play on the TV it works amazing. To bad it didn't come with the switch originally

This simple controller mould is so useful when playing with large groups. I like to offer each player a more traditional Nintendo Pro Controller or a third-party variation of the Pro Controller, but for large Smash Bros. events or other such big game parties this charging grip for the joycons allows everyone to play and top off their controller's battery while doing so.

love this charging grip for the Nintendo switch. it gives me an extra controller when needed.

Bought this with my switch, and in retrospect did not need it. Joycons charge while docked. I should have saved this money for a pro controller.

Great gift for anyone who has the controllers. They can charge them easily and use the pair as a single large controller.
