It includes a USB cable that plugs into the back of the Nintendo Switch's main dock and connects with grip. Then, you slide your joy con into place and the charging begins. Plus, you have a comfortable controller to play with why the joy-con are charging. A+ in my book!

Only nintendo made joycon grip

It can charge your joycons through the USB C port on the top of the grip (which honestly should've been a feature on the basic grip that comes with the system). I'm rating it 4 stars because nintendo refuses to offer the standard grip for purchase.

I would almost say that it is a required purchase for older teenagers or adults who play the Switch.

Some folks thought it had a rechargeable battery to charge the joycons after it is unplugged. IT DOES NOT. It is primarily the same as the joycon grip included with the switch but it has a charge port. It should have been included in the Switch retail package but wasn't and I docked 2 stars for this reason.

Its a shame that the one that comes with the Switch does not have a charging port where this one does. I guess it is Nintendo's way of having us buy extra accessories.
