Nintendo
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's OK. I just got a Nintendo Switch and needed another grip. I don't like that it has to be plugged in to dock to charge.

Not worth the price.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this item housed a battery, but all it is the exact Joy-Con grip but with a port for USB-C to charge the Joy-Cons.

Only if you want a second joycon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really pointless add on unless you plan to get a second joycon set. The switch already charges the Joy cons on it's in dock mode. If you wanted to get this device to actually charge wirelessly this device does not do that it simply gives you a plug-in so that you have to wire the controllers into a USB port to charge them I originally and mistakenly thought there may be some type of built-in battery so that the wireless charging of joycons could exist.

Kind of pointless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just has a port at the top to plug a charging cable into, but the grip itself doesn't act as an external battery as one might expect.

Not worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This should cost less for what it is, you can use the joycons without this.

Should have been included with Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My one start is NOT for Best Buy, it is for Nintendo, this SHOULD HAVE BEEN included with the Switch instead of the non-chargeable that comes with the system

Best choice for 2nd Grip (right now)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is your best choice for a 2nd Grip right now, because the $15 Comfort Grip is NOT made by Nintendo and is not the same as that which came with the console. It has design issues and doesn't feel solid like you would hope. That said, this more-expensive Grip feels exactly the same as the console-included controller. Just to be clear, there is no built-in battery (for $15 more than the alternative, you would figure they might design it with extra battery life, but not the case). The only difference is it has a USB receiver (USB-C, I think, but could be wrong) that connects to the console STAND (not the actual console for on-the-go) via 3-foot-long cord for charging. Not the best design for charging, but it's a solid controller and I've never run out of battery during long play sessions (probably 6-hours tested).

A must own for Nintendo Switch owners
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch console comes with two controllers which are used simultaneously by one player. Reportedly, they have pretty decent battery life. The problem is, the controller grip that comes with the console does not charge the "joycon" controllers. So if you're playing on the TV with the switch unit docked and your controller batteries deplete, the only way to charge them would be to click them back in the unit and wait 3 to 4 hours or switch to portable (off-TV) gaming for several hours while they slowly recover. Your only other option would be to spend $80 on another set of joycon controllers and keep your spare pair clicked into the switch unit while you use the other pair, then swap accordingly to charge. Likely a design to get folks to spend more money on accessories, this particular accessory should have been included with the system which makes this item a MUST OWN for every Switch owner.

NO USB C CABLE CABLE INCLUDED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is awesome. I was disappointed that I had to supply my own USB cable. Reviews from this month said it was included, but the description does not. Otherwise it is perfect.

Not essential, but great regardless.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 3 pairs of joycons. 1 pair on the console, 1 pair on the included joy-con grip, and the last pair on this rechargeable grip. Great purchase for me. I always have at least 2 pairs charged all the time from this.

Unnecessary
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing wrong with the product but I think it's unnecessary. The Joy-con battery life is 20 hours. Even if you have one set from buying the console, you can simply put them back into the dock and charge. If you have two sets of joy-cons this accessory is absolutely unnecessary as one set can charge while the other is in the regular grip that came with the console. Unless you plan on constantly playing 4 player games on the go, you really only need two joy-con sets at home in any of the games available or upcoming, after that you can just buy a Pro Controller for a cheaper price and that holds a 40 hour battery charge and is far superior in comfort.

Ruggedkoala
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Useful for making sure 4 joycon are fully charged at all times! Only downside is that there is no battery pack it only charges when plugged in!
