Noticeably Better than the Switch 1 Pro Controller

This is improved and probably the best controller for any system made by Nintendo except perhaps the Virtual Boy (that almost nobody owned). I also like it better than Xbox and PS5 for what it's worth. The only downside is the price, but if you have a Switch 2, this is a must-have.

I actually love this controller. The smoothness of the joysticks is something I haven’t experienced before. The battery life is insanely impressive.

[Employee of bestbuy] This is the best controller Nintendo has made. The sticks are smooth as butter and the grip buttons are fantastic for games. Highly encourage anyone getting the Switch 2 to snag it.

I’ve been using the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller for a few weeks now, and it’s hands-down the best way to play on the Switch. The build quality feels premium and sturdy, with a nice weight that makes it super comfortable for long gaming sessions. The buttons are responsive, the analog sticks feel precise, and the motion controls are spot-on. I especially love the improved battery life — I’ve gone several days without needing a charge. It also connects quickly and never lags during gameplay, even with intense action titles like Tears of the Kingdom or Smash Bros. If you’re still using Joy-Cons for everything, do yourself a favor and grab this controller. It’s a game-changer — literally.

BIG upgrade over last gens pro controller. The ergonomics are the same (which is great) but the build feels more solid. Time will tell regarding its durability. I have 4 of the old model pro controllers. 2 were from the day switch was released and are still holding up well; But the other 2 were purchased and returned several times over the past year as they kept breaking. Something was changed between the production runs that affected the reliability. BUT this controllers way too expensive (controllers as a whole now are). A Hori controller (who I believe actually makes Nintendos controllers) is $30 cheaper, why is that?

A slight improvement from the Switch 1 controller, which was already great. It has smooth matte coating that feels great in hand. The buttons are quieter while still being clicky. It also has mappable buttons on the bottom, which other gaming consoles usually only put on their elite controllers.

    Obvious and Expensive

While the design of the controller is indeed an upgrade to that of the first Switch Pro Controller in terms of feel and new features (programmable back buttons - GL & GR, 3.5mm audio jack built in [finally] and a game chat button, assuming you want to be social), it is almost absurdly expensive. All said, the controller is essential for those who like to play docked and enjoy their shooters. And although this review can't offer much insight of the mechanisms used for the joysticks over the short period of time they've been used, these are some of the best sticks I’ve used on a controller, from Nintendo or otherwise.

The switch 2 pro controller is a definite upgrade. The button mapping makes customization on this simple. It also feels really good when wrapping your hands on its body.

want to give it 4.5 but i'll concede. the higher price compared to the pro controller of the first switch. the biggest upgrade you'll feel is in the sticks. also not having to get up to power on the system is a bonus! a must need for any switch 2 owner.

I know that it's gotten bad feedback for repairability, and people think it's too expensive. Maybe it is. If those things aren't deal breakers for you, it's honestly a really good controller, highly recommend it. Really enhances the experience. I prefer having first party controllers.

The controller is easily worth the $90, I've never used a controller that felt THIS good before. The fact I got it discounted for barely being used makes it all the better. It's comfy, smooth, and literally ruined all other controllers for me since they feel stiff now by comparison. I can see why people couldn't justify the $90 price tag, but you feel the difference.
