Great controller with incredible battery life.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best controllers Nintendo has released. And honestly, it competes with Playstation and Xbox for how it feels in your hands. It comes with a headphone jack as well, and the extra buttons on the back is incredibly helpful. Finally, the battery life blows the competition out of the water. You can use the controller for days at a time on a single charge

The best controller for the Switch 2 by far
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the Switch 2 Pro Controller because the Joy-Cons were starting to feel uncomfortable during longer sessions, and this honestly made a huge difference. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable it is to hold. The grip feels solid without being heavy, and the buttons have a really satisfying click. It feels like a proper controller you could use for hours without your hands getting tired. The sticks are smooth and accurate, which I appreciate because I play a lot of games that need precise movement. There’s no drifting or weird input issues, everything just works exactly how it should. The triggers also feel great and respond quickly. It definitely feels higher quality than most third-party options I’ve tried in the past. I also like how long the battery lasts. I’ve gone multiple play sessions without needing to charge it. When I do charge it, it’s pretty quick, and the USB-C cable is easy to plug in while playing if needed. The wireless connection has been solid too. No lag, no disconnects, just consistent gameplay. Overall, this controller feels like what the Switch 2 should come with by default. It’s comfortable, responsive, and way better for longer gaming sessions. If you play often or just want a better experience, this is the controller to get.

The Most Comfortable Controller
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controller is light, soft, and smooth, making it extremely comfortable to hold. The joysticks are nearly silent and smooth as butter. The buttons are large and easy to reach and press. I've had this controller for two months and only had to charge it twice with an impressive 40 hour battery life. It can wake the system, has great gyro and rumble, and the included back paddles are so easy to remap for extra control in any game, which is saved per game and per user. 10/10 would recommend

A Must Have for Switch 2 Owners
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, and it has been a great upgrade to my gaming setup. The controller feels amazing in the hand with a comfortable grip that works well for long play sessions. The buttons feel clean and responsive, the sticks have smooth movement, and the overall build quality gives it a premium feel. I also like how quickly it connects and how stable the connection stays during gameplay. The controller feels balanced and easy to hold, so games that need precision feel much easier to play. It has made a big difference for titles that rely on fast reactions or detailed control. The battery life has also been impressive and lasts much longer than I expected. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. It looks great, feels great, and performs even better. I would definitely recommend the Switch 2 Pro Controller to anyone looking to upgrade their gaming experience.

Switch 2 controller
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best controller ever made of all time as of right now. The sticks feel unreal, so smooth and accurate, just perfect. The HD Rumble 2 is unmatched with what it can do. 40+ hour battery life. Headphone Jack. The texture of the controller feels soooo good in the hand. The new Grip buttons work perfectly, and are easily customizable per each game from the quick menu, and the customization is saved per game even after you close the game. 10/10

The One
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright. So first off, I've neen gaming for 34 years. Used most everything from the classic NES pad and Zapper, to Playstation DualShock series, OG Xbox Duke and Controller S (not Series S, seriously what is wrong with Microsoft naming conventions these days), to Wiimote and Nunchuk, to... the Hey You, Pikachu microphone? Yeah, using a microphone as a controller was a wild idea LOL! Anyway, a good controller that sticks with you is one of two things... either its really out there and you never thought it would work, until it did... or, it just... FEELS right. Like... "this is how it should be." Ergonomic design, hand-eye coordination matching 1-1 to what you expect when you tell your body to input a command, all the inputs being everywhere they need to be and nowhere they don't need to be? THAT is what you are paying for here for when you spend nearly $100 of your hard earned cash on this controller. I got into a head-on collision with another cyclist while biking today, September 4, 2025, and I have a wrist and arm injury that makes even the slightest wrong move make my nerves light up. When I'm using this controller? NOTHING. I know that sounds totally nonsensical and sensational. Maybe its just anecdote. But as far as I'm concerned? This controller has the best ergonomics of any controller in the past 34 years. They cast some kind of wizardry, every other controller trying to use the classic D-pad for rolling your thumb and the grip paddles just feels somewhere between less than ideal and awful and I think that has colored perceptions. I previously thought the Sega Saturn redesigned controller D-pad would be immortalized as solving the classic D-pad's problems that could not be fixed by sticking to the classic form. This D-pad is smooth as silk and operates better than the redesigned Saturn D-pad. Thirty years, washed away just like that. And they eschewed grip paddles you see on controllers like the DualSense Edge- what passes now for a "premium" controller- for buttons that are completely flush with the grips. The N64 controller is practically unusable to me now, but I will never forget the Z button feel as a child... These buttons are like that Z button was reborn as a Gemini and stepped forward into the next century. This button layout style stopping feeling right to me soon after reaching adulthood and this controller was the cure. And the simultaneous motion control precision it allows without relying on twinsticks for aiming finally... FINALLY fulfills the dream that the engineers behind the DualShock 3 controller had when they tried to make games like Lair into PS3 system sellers. It fulfills the dream that Nintendo's engineers had when they made the Wiimote and some thought it would revolutionize gaming before the dedicated motion controls gimmick became a mostly endangered species. It looks like a regular controller and you get a level of aiming precision beyond Wii MotionPlus or Playstation Move while being wired. How? Because a 2-hander was the answer all along, dual wielding was not the answer and wireless only is too slow. The Joycon 2s are a huge blunder. No one should remember mouse mode amicably because this controller does what Joycon mouse mode is intended to do better by fulfilling its function while letting you control the game the way you expect a normal controller is supposed to work. And it erases the absolute awkwardness of dual wielding Joycons for aiming. This is currently the best you will find below PC keyboard and mouse. Joycon mouse mode fails to emulate keyboard and mouse like Virtual Boy failed to capture the imagination in the 90's. This controller proves that consoles don't need to move in a more PC-like direction as Sony and Microsoft are doing. Try this controller however you can... This console is an investment, make no mistake. But don't get into it unless you're ready to go the whole way. Otherwise, you're wasting your time, and time is money. Don't bother with buying a Switch 2 unless you also buy this controller. Don't bother with products trying to force the Joycons into being comfortable and feeling right. That is a Sisyphean task. If Nintendo had made this the default controller instead of the Joycons, and configured the entire console ecosystem and design around it instead of nearly mirror imaging the Switch 1, you wouldn't be seeing Switch 2s sitting on shelves right now. It would have been another Wii 2006-2007 situation where you probably won't see this thing in the wild after folks lined up for the midnight release for a whole year. $450 for this console with this controller would have been unstoppable. Nintendo executives messed up by giving people accessory sticker shock and therefore cradling this controller in millions less hands.

excellent iterative upgrade over last gen
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is the most comfortable controller I have owned. I have owned pretty much every game system that has come out. I like this more than the switch one pro controller. something about the materials makes it a joy to hold. the sticks are almost unbelievably smooth. I've never felt a stick that had this little friction. the back gl and gr buttons are a welcome addition and you can configure them different for each game. I have been using them for run and jump on breath of the wild which leaves me open to move the camera while im running and jumping. the d pad is accurate and the buttons are satisfying. so far I have only had to charge it once since I got it. that was always the killer feature of the first switch pro controller. it blows stuff like the ps5 controller out of the water with its battery life. like it isn't even close looking forward to seeing how good the longevity of this controller is.

A must-buy for any new Switch 2 owner
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even better than the S1 pro controller! Feels great in the hand, nice texture to the plastic, LENGTHY battery life, HD rumble is pronounced, and adding the back buttons is a nice tough! Might not be worth the upgrade if you still have a S1 Pro Controller, but otherwise a must if you're a new Switch 2 owner.

Silent and deadly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know how Nintendo keeps doing pro controllers this well, but this is somehow even better than the original Switch Pro Controller. Battery lasts forever, it's basically silent, AND now it has rear grip buttons and a headphone jack? Can't beat it.

Well built as expected, still overpriced.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you owned the original Switch Pro controller, you'll pretty well know what you're buying. Excellent battery life and built quality, functions great, just a well rounded controller that holds its own with Sony and Microsoft's offerings. It now offers programmable rear buttons to bring it more in line with the Elite and DS Edge, but I doubt that most will find this a make or break feature. My only reason for docking it a star is because the only real reason you'r have to upgrade from the original is that the original won't wake the Switch 2 up. So you're really just paying a pretty premium price for very little improvement. Regardless, still a great controller with incredible battery life just like the original.

Solid, solid controller
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller takes the successful, comfortable foundation of its predecessor and elevates it with several "pro" features that gamers have long requested. While it carries a premium price tag of approximately \$89.99, the additions—particularly the programmable back buttons and the inclusion of a headset jack—make it the definitive controller experience for the Switch 2 when playing in docked mode. Design and Ergonomics: Subtly Refined The overall shape and excellent ergonomics remain largely unchanged, maintaining the long grips and gentle curves that made the original Pro Controller so comfortable for extended sessions. However, the Switch 2 model introduces noticeable refinements: • Premium Finish: The shell shifts from the original's partially translucent, sometimes slightly glossy plastic to a smooth, matte black finish with light gray accents around the analog sticks and shoulder buttons. This gives it a more high-end, solid feel in the hand, though some users miss the grippier, rubberized material of the first version. • Improved Components: The face buttons (\text{A}/\text{B}/\text{X}/\text{Y}), D-pad, and analog sticks are quieter and smoother in operation. The analog sticks, in particular, move with a "silky" precision, and the D-pad feels more accurate and less prone to accidental diagonal inputs than the original. Key New Features The biggest changes are found in the controller's functionality, bringing it up to modern "pro" standards: 1. Programmable Back Buttons (\text{GL} and \text{GR}): This is the most significant addition. Two low-profile, mappable buttons are positioned flush on the back grips, right where your middle fingers naturally rest. These buttons can be assigned to mirror any other input (like jump, dash, or \text{R}3/\text{L}3), allowing players to keep their thumbs on the analog sticks during complex actions—a huge advantage in fast-paced or competitive games. Mapping is done easily through the Switch 2 system software on a per-game basis. 2. 3.5mm Headset Jack: Finally, a dedicated headphone jack is included on the bottom of the controller. This simple feature makes voice chat (in conjunction with the new GameChat function) and private audio significantly easier, eliminating the need to rely on Bluetooth or console-side audio solutions. 3. Dedicated GameChat (\text{C}) Button: A small, square \text{C} button is located near the center of the controller, providing quick, one-touch access to the Switch 2's new built-in voice and video chat functionality. 4. HD Rumble 2: The haptics are upgraded, matching the HD Rumble 2 found in the Joy-Con 2 controllers. This offers more detailed and nuanced vibrational feedback, providing a more immersive experience than the original's standard rumble. 5. Faster Charging: While the 40-hour battery life remains excellent (outlasting many competitors), the charging time has been significantly reduced, taking about 3.5 hours for a full charge compared to the six hours required by the original Pro Controller. Performance and Drawbacks In terms of performance, the controller is highly responsive, with no input lag reported. The combination of smooth analog sticks and the enhanced HD Rumble 2 makes for an excellent gaming experience. The main drawback, which is carried over from the original, is the lack of analog triggers (\text{ZL} and \text{ZR}). These remain digital buttons, which is a limiting factor for games that rely on pressure-sensitive input (like racing games that require incremental acceleration), and also hurts the controller's versatility for \text{PC} gaming. Furthermore, unlike high-end \text{PC} and other console "Elite" controllers, the Switch 2 Pro Controller does not utilize Hall Effect joysticks, meaning it may still be susceptible to long-term wear issues like stick drift. Verdict The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is an essential purchase for anyone who primarily plays the Switch 2 in docked mode. The programmable back buttons and the headset jack are monumental quality-of-life improvements that justify the controller's premium over the original's price. While it still lacks analog triggers and Hall Effect sticks, it stands as Nintendo's best first-party traditional gamepad yet.
