I bought this Nintendo Switch for my teenage daughter because all of her friends had one and she wanted to be able to play the same games with them. It’s been a great way for her to connect and play with friends. Setup was easy, performance has been smooth, and she uses it both handheld and docked. Overall, it’s been a great purchase and she’s really enjoyed it.

Elegant compromise between handheld and console

In terms of raw horsepower (CPU, graphics, whatever) the Nintendo Switch is far behind the current generation of consoles like the XBox One. But, the Switch is a unique device. As a handheld, it is quite powerful (the latest iteration nearly doubles the handheld's battery life, addressing the Switch's greatest weakness). This allows you to play the same game on your TV and keep playing it as you take it out with you --- a unique ability. Most importantly, there is a staggering array of software available for it. Software is what makes or breaks a console, no matter how good it is. For example the Zelda game "Breath of the Wild" is a visual stunner with a huge open world. And this is the first portable system that has the full version of Skyrim available for it (the reason I bought it --- a high quality port of Skyrim with the 3 add-on packs). Nintendo has also done high quality ports of other gems from older consoles such as "Mario Kart 8" as well as a lot of new titles such as "Super Smash Brothers Ultimate" or "Luigi's Mansion 3". In addition, their digital store has a lot of quality indie games such as Stardew Valley. Also, if you purchase the Nintendo Switch Online membership ($20/year) Nintendo also gives you a large selection of NES and SNES classic games. The membership is worthwhile for that alone. Basically, because Nintendo is ONLY selling the Switch as a current console (the 3DS is on its way out), all of their best software goes to the one console. And that gives developers strong incentives to bring their best titles over as well. If you want a wide variety of games, the Switch is a good choice. If you want THE best console graphics or performance, obviously the Switch isn't for you.

I had been looking for this particular system as a requested gift for my 7-yr old grandchild. Although this system can out a year earlier, my grandchild was too young I thought to have this gaming system. Boy was I ever wrong. Not only was she old enough, but she has no problem opening and setting up the system by herself. Not only has she shown her mom how to play, she has defeated most of the adults that she plays with. Another good thing about this system is that it can be broken down and used as a take-a-long game system which she can play by herself. I am glad I purchased this system as it can be played with others or by one's self. I would highly recommend for anyone that loves to play games.

I've been wanting a switch for a while, and I finally got around to buying one. It's a great console with the option to either play handheld or on the TV. The versatility of the switch (as its name suggests) is definitely one of its strong points. My only complaints is the battery life is not always the best on handheld and the charging port is on the bottom (which makes it difficult when you're trying to use the kickstand in handheld mode). But, these in no way impact how much I enjoy the console. I'm really glad I bought it, and I recommend it to anyone (whether you play individually or with friends/families) as it is a great, enjoyable device that has really kept me entertained while in lockdown due to COVID-19.

I had my doubts about Nintendo Switch at first, but after buying it and playing it for a few weeks, I have to say it's an amazing console with really good graphics and games. The games are out of this world fun (Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart) with simple controls and great game play. The versatility of the console and controllers is unlike any gaming system and that's really the best part about it. When someone else wants to watch TV, just simply disconnect the Switch and play it in portable mode. Certain games have motion sensing features for the Joy-Con controllers, similar to the Wii. The screen on portable mode also looks great, and I can't really tell is 720p. Battery life is reasonable too and lasts 3-6 hours depending on the intensity of the game. I haven't really had any major problems with the Switch, and I am very happy I bought one.

I haven't owned a portable gaming system since the Nintendo Gameboy Advance and I have to say the Nintendo Switch definitely delivers that old nostalgia of my childhood. I wanted to get a Switch when it first came out, but I decided to wait until Nintendo released the second version with improved battery life. I like that they have many of the new popular games available to play like NBA 2k, but they also have the classic games for free like Super Mario Bros. My only complaint is that the console itself doesn't have much storage, and you have no choice but to purchase a micro SD card for extra storage which can be expensive. In the future, Nintendo should include a micro SD card with the system.

What can i say, its crazy what this thing can do you can play handheld, on the tv, and play two player when set up on a table with the handheld screen, no tv needed. Easy to use interface and to connect more controllers. Very fast when starting up games and loading. So many new big games and all the classic Nintendo games available, the price is well well worth buying it new.

The Nintendo Switch is hands down one of the most versatile gaming consoles I've ever owned. Whether you're a casual gamer, a hardcore enthusiast, or anything in between, the Switch offers something for everyone. Its unique hybrid design allows you to seamlessly transition between playing at home on your TV and taking your gaming experience on the go in handheld mode. The console's library of games is extensive and diverse, with titles ranging from beloved Nintendo classics like "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" to popular third-party releases like "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" and "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe." The joy-con controllers are comfortable to hold and offer innovative motion controls, making gameplay immersive and enjoyable. Additionally, the Switch's multiplayer capabilities make it perfect for social gaming experiences with friends and family. Overall, the Nintendo Switch is a must-have gaming console that offers endless entertainment possibilities and is suitable for gamers of all ages.

A Fantastic New Gaming Console From Nintendo

When I first heard about Nintendo's new console code-named the "Nintendo NX", I was skeptical regarding what Nintendo was going to introduce next after the lackluster sales and game output of the Nintendo Wii U. As time went on, Nintendo introduced various trailers and Nintendo Directs which explained about their new console the Nintendo Switch. After watching several hours of various video content regarding the Switch, I was still a bit skeptical. How powerful will their console be? How will the joy-con controllers feel in the hand? What is the battery life of the console while in handheld mode? These among other questions were raised. Fast forward to today. I am pleasantly surprised with this new Nintendo console. The joy-con controllers actually fit well in your hands. I have fairly large man-hands and I had no discomfort while using the joy-cons with the included wrist strap. The wrist strap adds more bulk to the joy-cons and also gives the shoulder buttons a more profound feeling. In this past month of using the Switch, I have found myself using the console in handheld mode 95% of the time. It feels just right in that mode. As for battery life, I can say that I get a solid 3 hours while playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It takes about 2 hours or so ti fully charge using the included USB-C wall adapter. I have been surprised with how great games look on the Switch. With me being primarily a PC gamer, the visuals of games like Zelda look very nice. Sure, it's no console capable of 4k resolution extreme photo-realistic visuals, but it definitely looks better than previous Nintendo consoles. I used the Switch once in desktop mode with my best friend. We set the tablet portion of the Switch on his car's dash and let the kickstand out to keep it propped up. We both played a good bit of Fast RMX on the Switch using the joy-cons. I have to say it was a flawless experience. It is VERY nice being able to have a large size screen on the Switch to be able to play multiplayer titles anywhere. I do believe this is what Nintendo is going for with the Nintendo Switch. Multiplayer gaming anytime, anywhere. Overall, I have to say I have greatly enjoyed my time using the Switch and I will definitely be buying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 when they release. Oh, and Super Mario Odyssey when it finally releases this holiday season. I highly recommend this game console if you want a home console experience available to you anywhere.

Nintendo Switch is awesome and so much fun. You can play on hand held or tv mode. It is portable and the graphics are amazing. 1080 p and flawless. If you have any problems with your Switch call Nintendo and they will take great care of you. Had an issue with our dock and they fixed it for us. Anyone can pick this up and play it. Too many good games for this console, and many good ports. Had to buy a second one because the spouse is hogg. Nintendo has put out an update that now allows you to transfer your save data and profile to the new switch with out loosing anything. You will have to re-download eshop games however as they are only one unit. Recommend getting the 128 GB Micro Sd Card, pro controller and a tempered glass screen protector because the screen is plastic on the switch and could scratch. You will be very happy.

We purchased this as a christmas gift for our son. It was easy to set up, and get running. The monthly subscription we pur hased with it give access to variety of free games each month. The battery hold a charge for a long time, holds up to long car rides. My son put the controls in backward and we thought they were stuck and ruined, but the people at nintendo anticipated this mistake and put in a "fail safe", so nothing was ruined. It was pricey, in my non-gamer opinion, but the longer we have it the more worth it it seems. If you have a kid that will tote it around with them, i highly recommend adding cases and screen protectors.
