This was a Christmas present for my 10 year old. Absolutely loved it. Both kids have been playing it, and I even got in on the action. It's amazing what technology can do these days.

Nintendo has always been an innovator when it comes to video game systems, and the Nintendo Switch is no exception. The Switch has several great features going for it. While not as powerful as the Playstation 4 or Xbox One, the Switch is still more than powerful enough to output great video quality. When in hand-held (mobile) mode, the Switch runs at 720p. When docked, the Switch can reach up to 1080p. Notice I said up to. Not all games run at 1080. Zelda: Breath of the Wild, for example, runs at 900p. Don't let this minor dip in resolution deter you from playing on the Switch, however. The average user will not notice any hit to the visual quality of the games. If I had not read about the resolution, I would have thought it was 1080p quality. Like any new game system, the game library is small. This is not enough to dock points from the review, however. Zelda is such a great game to keep players occupied for a while until new games are released. Mario Kart, Splatoon 2, Super Street Fighter, Mario Oddsey, and many other great games are soon to come. The portability of the Switch is my favorite feature of the system. It offers players the ability to take the fun with them on the go. Games can be played on your big screen when the system is placed in the Switch docking station. The docking station even charges your system. When removed from the dock, the system can play games on the Switch's large screen. The screen is larger than that of the Nintendo 3DS XL screens, and the 720p resolution is more than enough to deliver amazing image quality. The one minor flaw with the system is that it fits a bit snug when placed in the docking station. There are some rubber grips inside the dock that hold the Switch game system in place. While it may not seem like a big deal at first, over time docking and undocking the system will smudge (and possibly scratch) the screen of the Switch. Some easy and cheap solutions to resolve this issue are to 1) buy a glass screen protector for the Switch screen, or 2) buy a felt slip-cover to place over the wall of the docking station to prevent rubbing by the Switch. Although this is a minor annoyance, once you install the above mentioned solution, the issue will no longer be of concern. In closing, I think that the Switch is a great system and I see myself using it as my primary game system. I'll still use the PS4 and Xbox One, but the portability and game library are what will keep me playing. It's great for road trips and playing at home.

The Nintendo switch is really unique, and is more than I expected from the console, it turns on quick and you ready to play in a min, take it from the dock and keep playing on the go. Is so much fun, I just hope they make more good games for it.

My son chose this as a birthday present from us and his grandparents instead of a birthday party. Great choice! This switch has traveled the world (we spent last summer in New Zealand) and never missed a beat. It's easy to pack and I love that you can play it anywhere, with multiple players. We are very strict about what games he can play, but with Nintendo, there are so many kid and family friendly options. Right now its sitting next to my original NES (that still works!).

Wish it was cheaper since the switch 2’s release.. otherwise not a bad system for your kids and or adults. great for group play ( my recommendation )

Kids absolutely love it! They are thrilled to be playing the new mario on it again!

My kids and I love the switch. Easy to hook up to Tv. Easy to remove from the dock and continue playing on the go. Exceeded my expectations. Just know you have to buy games separately.

Amazing! Always wanted something similar to the gameboy back in the day, and this did it.

It's an extremely accessible console for people that don't play games often & the portability is great in part to the sleek design; making it easy to transport. I highly enjoy playing it and the games you can play.

Was a bit iffy about getting it but it has been one if the best decisions .

Amazing console, love being able to play some awesome games on the go, or just dropping it in the dock and playing on the big screen with the amazing pro controller (also HIGHLY recommend!)

Bought shortly before NYC went on PAUSE. Game play is great for all ages and Nintendo has enough games of all types to keep the whole house occupied for hours. I’d highly recommend to any and all ages.

I bought this for my wife because she was wearing we out. I was on the fence because we have all the other gaming devices lying around the house. Well its awesome and we are getting another for my son for Christmas. You wont be dissappointed.
