The switch has amazing features. The ability to switch from stationary to portable is second to none. The controllers are awesome. The battery life is mind blowing.however the way in which accounts are managed, subscriptions required for Minecraft and other logins are absolutely nerve racking. In order for my two young children to play simultaneously I have to create multiple advanced login profiles with email addresses, ECT... No what I expected and not what I was required to do on previous platforms. Furthermore the lack of apps available is disappointing. The simple fact that there is NO BROWSER says it all. This platform was a good effort but sloppy. Don't unplug the Xbox. You'll be needing it still for Disney+, Hulu, Amazon prime ECT... It has Netflix and YouTube... yippee. Personally my favorite feature is the cloud games with retro Mario, ECT... For the price you're better off going with Rasp Pi if that's all you want. The best thing for the kids is the fact it undocks. So fighting siblings?: Undock and seperate them! One plays xbox, the goes mobile on switch. My youngest loves it but I have a feeling if he was older he'd see through these disadvantages and not be interested either. The new Mario games are nice. If you are addicted to the legacy you will require this machine to run proprietary games like this. Gameplay is smooth and nice although controllers sometimes are difficult to sync/switch input methods and even undock from the handheld leases. You'll appreciate holding two partial controllers and the ability to have more natural form playing as opposed to being hunched over and unnatural position with conventional controllers. My take: it's nice but make sure there's not something major missing for you first.

The Nintendo Swtich is great the new model has extended battery and runs a little quieter. The first party games on the switch are excellent plus the portable mode makes it easy to take the game wherever you want

We have had the Nintendo Switch for a few weeks, my spouse and I, and our teen kids play it, we have enjoyed playing separate games and games together, it's really nice looking and easy to handle, it has a lot of online options to choose from, and the subscriptions are fairly priced! Took us a bit to decide if we wanted one, but we are glad we made the purchase. Fun for the whole family, adults, teens and children. Great system that plays smoothly with nice graphics.

We have had this for a few months so far, and we really enjoy having it. We were pretty late to jumping on the bandwagon for this system, but I am glad we were able to finally get out own. It figures that when we do get it, they announce the future release of the Nintendo 2 being in the works for next year. Just our luck! I do hope that they continue to support this system for a long while yet, because we were really frustrated with the cutoff with the Nintendo 3DS store. Using this in it's dock is streamline and easy. I will say that it can be a bit uncomfortable after a while, when holding it as a portable system, though. The controllers sit nice, but the little bit of wiggle is enough to be noticeable. We are still getting adjusted to it, but I do prefer to use the controller on the handheld attachment that comes with it. I was hoping to snatch the Mario edition that was around at the same time, but unfortunately they were sold out at my local store! We do not have very many games for it, but so far the ones we have played have been really fun so far! Graphics are great, no issues with lagging, sound, etc! *knock on wood* We did purchase a larger storage card so that way we could have more space for downloading games, when we are able to. I will say that the storage is a bit lacking when you consider the sheer size of some the games you can play on this system. So just please keep that in mind! Mind you, you do not have to get the branded Nintendo SD Card, as we just picked up a different brand SD card from another store. It works just fine, so far.

It charges fast. The hookup to the TV is really nice. My school age son isn't really one to stay on screen time for long periods of time. But when we play as a family, the game seems worth it. Overcooked is our jam. lol. In my opinion, the Switch isn't really user friendly for younger children. I think it is best suited for kids 8 or 9 and up.

I was honestly surprised at how easy the transition was from being a play-at-home console to on-the-go. I thought there would be a weird lag or some sort of error that would cause a lot of problems, but I have yet to experience any of that. I like how everything is easily packable into like a small backpack so it can be easily packed for travel rather than a big PS4. There aren't too many games out yet, so we're waiting to get more games but we currently own Mario Kart & 1-2-Switch; both games have been amazing family party games that everyone can enjoy. The controllers are a little small but they get the job done, we found that we like the grips where you can put 2 controllers into so it forms like a standard controller like for gamecube or PS4. The only thing is the straps for the Joy-cons, you have to make sure you put them on the right way, otherwise it can get stuck and it's a bit hard to take out (not impossible, but just be careful...) There are a lot of accessories for the Switch right now, which makes it fun, but at the same time it's really expensive... A joy-con set is like $80 and the games are about $60 (which is the average price for PS4 games already but Playstation have a bit more better quality and this is a bit more expensive than Nintendo standards like DS games). Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and the Nintendo Switch has become a new added member to our game consoles that we'll enjoy for quite a while.

In terms of raw horsepower (CPU, graphics, whatever) the Nintendo Switch is far behind the current generation of consoles like the XBox One. But, the Switch is a unique device. As a handheld, it is quite powerful (the latest iteration nearly doubles the handheld's battery life, addressing the Switch's greatest weakness). This allows you to play the same game on your TV and keep playing it as you take it out with you --- a unique ability. Most importantly, there is a staggering array of software available for it. Software is what makes or breaks a console, no matter how good it is. For example the Zelda game "Breath of the Wild" is a visual stunner with a huge open world. And this is the first portable system that has the full version of Skyrim available for it (the reason I bought it --- a high quality port of Skyrim with the 3 add-on packs). Nintendo has also done high quality ports of other gems from older consoles such as "Mario Kart 8" as well as a lot of new titles such as "Super Smash Brothers Ultimate" or "Luigi's Mansion 3". In addition, their digital store has a lot of quality indie games such as Stardew Valley. Also, if you purchase the Nintendo Switch Online membership ($20/year) Nintendo also gives you a large selection of NES and SNES classic games. The membership is worthwhile for that alone. Basically, because Nintendo is ONLY selling the Switch as a current console (the 3DS is on its way out), all of their best software goes to the one console. And that gives developers strong incentives to bring their best titles over as well. If you want a wide variety of games, the Switch is a good choice. If you want THE best console graphics or performance, obviously the Switch isn't for you.

I had been looking for this particular system as a requested gift for my 7-yr old grandchild. Although this system can out a year earlier, my grandchild was too young I thought to have this gaming system. Boy was I ever wrong. Not only was she old enough, but she has no problem opening and setting up the system by herself. Not only has she shown her mom how to play, she has defeated most of the adults that she plays with. Another good thing about this system is that it can be broken down and used as a take-a-long game system which she can play by herself. I am glad I purchased this system as it can be played with others or by one's self. I would highly recommend for anyone that loves to play games.

The Nintendo Switch is hands down one of the most versatile gaming consoles I've ever owned. Whether you're a casual gamer, a hardcore enthusiast, or anything in between, the Switch offers something for everyone. Its unique hybrid design allows you to seamlessly transition between playing at home on your TV and taking your gaming experience on the go in handheld mode. The console's library of games is extensive and diverse, with titles ranging from beloved Nintendo classics like "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" to popular third-party releases like "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" and "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe." The joy-con controllers are comfortable to hold and offer innovative motion controls, making gameplay immersive and enjoyable. Additionally, the Switch's multiplayer capabilities make it perfect for social gaming experiences with friends and family. Overall, the Nintendo Switch is a must-have gaming console that offers endless entertainment possibilities and is suitable for gamers of all ages.

What can i say, its crazy what this thing can do you can play handheld, on the tv, and play two player when set up on a table with the handheld screen, no tv needed. Easy to use interface and to connect more controllers. Very fast when starting up games and loading. So many new big games and all the classic Nintendo games available, the price is well well worth buying it new.
