The Switch is awesome! You can play it at home or on the go. Never had a problem with battery as long as your aware and take a charger if needed. Take it with me so I can play during breaks. The ports on the handheld is strangely laid out but not bad. If you already own a console, this is still a viable option. Highly recommend getting SD card as well. One game took up half the storage in device so be aware if your buying triple A digital games like Zelda or Mario.

So I was skeptical about the Switch. I have a PS4 and an Xbox One S, so why another console? (Oh, and a nice PC, too) Social Gaming. Fun. I’m partial to the PS4 for “serious” gaming, but it really hard to beat the switch. Hard to beat it for having 3 generations in the room playing Mario Kart—father-in-law, my wife & I, and our daughter all playing together. Hard to beat it for playing a serious game on the go. Playing Divinity Original Sin 2 when the kids are watching TV, or into the night before going to bed. I still love my PS4, in particular, but I’d tell you to get a switch if you like local offline multiplayer and Nintendo’s catalog. Which is great.

This is the first Nintendo system I've purchased since the Wii and I have zero regrets about it. Having read generally favorable reviews, I had a hard time passing on this initially as I wanted a solid portable system to replace my Vita which just wasn't getting the game support I wished it would. Having the one-two punch of being both a portable system and standard console made it too hard to resist in the end, and I am extremely glad that I made the choice to pick it up! I've seen preferences vary for everyone on how to use the system and my preferred method when not doing local multiplayer is to play in handheld mode. While I love it, the ergonomics aren't the best and I'll find my hand/wrist hurting after playing for an hour or so (sometimes less). A case grip will help this issue, but I haven't found quite the perfect one yet. For local multiplayer, being able to split the joycons up to create two separate controllers is genius and extremely convenient. I have yet to have a reason to purchase any additional hardware for the system as a result. Finally, the games are generally what makes the system, and Nintendo shines here. They now have two of the best games of the year with Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild which combined will give you hundreds of hours of gameplay. Golf Story and a number of other indie titles have emerged as hits as well and are definitely something to look into when you get the system for yourself. With other AAA titles like Doom, Skyrim, and Wolfenstein II coming up I just keep getting more and more excited that I have this system. I recommend it to anyone and everyone as the versatility of it ensures that in some way, shape, or form it will be exactly what any gamer, casual or hardcore, prefers and loves.

Decided to finally buy a switch after a long debate about what I would actually play on it. And I have to say I’ve spent far more time playing it than I thought I actually would, between the switch games them self and the virtual console for NES and SNES titles included with the online subscription. Took this on a cross country plane trip and was pleased the battery lasted the entire time I was in the air, this was by far one of my favorite purchases of 2019. Pros: Ease of use Mobility Accessibility to virtual console offline Inexpensive online membership compared to others Cons: Can become uncomfortable holding the entire unit for long play sessions

Nintendo almost nailed it out of the park with their newest game system by playing video games on the go or on your big screen tv with the Switch. But as with their previous console, WiiU, they still have a little ways to go before they perfect this hybrid game machine. I love the screen size on the Switch, the enhanced battery life of the newest model, the versatility of controller options but not a fan of the directional pad/analog stick on the Joy-Cons, imperfections of Joy-Cons when snapped on the Switch (my left Joy-Con wiggles when attached), Joy-Con replacements are $80 which is ridiculous and some gamers are experiencing the notorious Joy-Con drift where the controller doesn’t register input..so I’m basically not really liking the Joy-Con controllers. Also the home screen is functional but really basic and cumbersome. Where the Switch really shines though is getting the home console gaming experience and having the option of going portable with a comparable experience. The Switch portable screen is 720p and when docked, the Switch can output 1080p on your tv. The Switch graphics are adequate and comparable to the Xbox 360/PS3 era so yeah, they’re a tad outdated. But with Nintendo, they have never been a game company pushing the limits when it comes to visuals. They rely on hardware innovations and with their latest game console, they have almost perfected their newest creation!

I had an original Nintendo from 1989 and I hadn't played it for like 20 years. When they brought it back into the light I was like I had one of those. I had been eyeballing consoles just to see what was out there and I do remember playing on the Wii when it came out cuz my niece had it, but still never bought it. PS2 and other consuls also never grabbed my attention; obviously a Nintendo baby at heart. Then I saw a commercial for this Switch and I was like I am doing it, I deserve it and I was super grabbed by the portability and just thinking about playing Mario again...lol I am so glad I waited for the switch. Gamers here I come!!

The Nintendo Switch has really been a great console for my needs. When it was originally announced I was worried that it would have the same problems as the Wii U. I was proven wrong, it has a great selection of games including third party and retro style games. The battery life on this new model is much improved and this is my go to device for travel. I have taken it to Japan and if you have a battery pack it will last for the flight. For parents, there is a large selection of child friendly games and of course there is Mario and Link. This is a great buy and you will be happy with your purchase.

I had been thinking about getting a nintendo switch for a while now, and I'm so glad I finally got one!! It is a great hand held game for traveling, but it is also great for setting up to a TV or projector. I also love the option to have physical games or digital download because it is very convenient if you're unable to make it to the store. 10/10 would recommend. The only thing I would say was not the best was the storage space, but this was an easy fix once I got an SD card in there.

I absolutely love the switch. I’m more of a handheld gamer and the practicality and portability of this console makes gaming so much fun. Love the fact I can go from playing on my tv to jumping back to handheld with ease. Feels very nostalgic also

The Nintendo Switch is a great system and I feel another classic, as much a the original in the 80's. The fact that its both a portable system and also has a base to use on your home TV is perfect! I loved this fact, as it can go on the road, while having the huge screen at home. Kids can take it to their friends and also can have multiple players at once, so they can all enjoy together, depending on the game and an extra attachment. I'm really happy also to see the vast amount of games for different age levels and the crisp graphics and sharp screen. Worth the money spent, and you won't regret it!

I managed to snag this one by camping on the website all day and night and following online alerts to tell me when the Switches were being restocked. It was a major hassle, but I'm glad I went through it because the Switch is worth it. The console itself has such a small footprint compared to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X looking to be such massive bricks that look more at home at a computer desk than an entertainment center, it's relieving to still have a system that doesn't get in the way of anybody's preferred gaming setup. The systems UI itself is very nice and clean too, it's very easy to navigate and get to where you want to go to once you put in a few minutes to get the hang of it. Once again it contrasts with the other two major consoles that throw so much more information at you at once, it can feel a bit cluttered by comparison. The game library is outstanding too. I already own six games and still there are more I'm interested in buying too. Some of them are just releases and updates of Wii U games, so if you already had that you may not have as many games to play, but if you're like the majority and never bought that you'll benefit from all the games you missed the first time around. Plus, having all of Nintendo focused on the Switch instead of being divided between a handheld and console means there will be plenty of first party support to come. There are three downsides that I should mention. The first being that because it's Nintendo, you better be prepared to pay $60 for most of your games. The games on other consoles generally drop to $20 or $30 only a few months after they first launch, but Nintendo almost never lets their games drop in price. You'll have to keep an eye out for major sales if you want to save some money on these titles. The second downside is that the joy cons that come with the system just don't cut it for playing most games. They're designed to work with the Switch in handheld mode, but I feel they're inadequate for long gaming sessions. You'll need to buy a Switch Pro Controller if you plan on mostly playing the Switch docked. Finally, the on system memory is insufficient if you want to store a lot of games digitally. You'll have to buy a microSD card if you don't want to constantly delete and re-download games. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it to people who like Nintendo games. Just be aware of the hidden costs that come with owning one.

Perfect Combo of Nostalgia and New Tech

I had reservations about purchasing a new Nintendo console, fearing it would be too similar to the Nintendo DS or that it would leave a lot to be desired like the Wii. The Nintendo switch was neither, and has provided the perfect combination of nostalgic Nintendo titles and new technology features. The switch makes it easy to transition from the big screen to a handheld device seamlessly. My only recommendation would be to opt for a bundle that packages an additional card for additional memory, or take advantage of physical copies of games to save space on the available storage.

I brought the switch for my husband and he lives it. I’m amazed at the way it works the setup to make two separate joysticks we played mario cart like we used to with our kids growing up. It was a great idea brought back some good memories between us. The gift was from our daughters I just made the purchase. I’m happy my husband is happy and enjoying it. It was worth the price !!!!!

Got this system as a Christmas present for the kids. The versatility of the system and controller size is perfect for kids. You may want to look into a larger controller for adult hands. An online subscription is recommended but is much less than the competition's yearly price. A micro SD card (at least 256 GB) is also recommended if you plan on buying games online.

It does exactly what it's supposed to. I love the portability, but you could also just leave it hooked up to your TV all the time. A system is pointless without great games and they keep coming out with more. Zelda and Mario are great. I have all the game systems (Xbox/PS/PC). I'd prefer to play games like Skyrim on one of those systems, but the idea of exploring Skyrim on the go is tempting. I don't really like the controllers that came with the Switch. The Joy-Cons are small, but perfect for kids. If you're used to Xbox/PS controllers, you'll want to buy another controller. I purchased then Mario controller and it's just like I'm playing on my other system.
