If you are a real gammer and what to play on the go this is the one. Play with friends on regular TV and go to the park and keep playing. Great.

I purchased this for my son's birthday, and he loved it. It is a very good console but probably not if you are a gamer with preference for more dynamic type of games. In my son's case since he will be traveling a lot with his school band, this is the perfect console to bring on those long road trips. The battery last for a very good 4 hours and the controllers are very practical to store. Overall, this is a solid product for kids up to middle school age, or old-school gamers like me!

    Nintendo does it again!

After the flop that was the Wii U, and the huge success before that was the Wii...Nintendo has done it again! They took a simple concept (a dockable console that's both portable and looks great on modern 4k TV's) and executed it extremely well. Basically, if you love Nintendo, you'll love this. It's not without it's flaws, but in the grand scheme of things there's nothing really even worth mentioning...I will anyway though. The biggest flaw for me personally is they took away the "Virtual Console" and now require a monthly subscription to access a small selection of retro games. Another potential flaw is that the default controllers (Joy-Cons) are EXTREMELY tiny, even while houses in the controller unit provided with the console. I have big hands and using the joy-cons is almost pointless. Their joysticks are also a little on the short side and in turn make aiming an adjustment to get used to. I'd highly recommend getting the Pro Controller or another 3rd part traditional controller if you're more of a "serious" gamer. At the end of the day these flaws don't detract from the experience that is the Switch though and this is easily one of the best "full family" consoles of all time!

Girlfriend is super pleased with my gift that I got her for Christmas. She’s been stuck in the stoneage playing god knows what on her GameCube that somehow functions. I think she’s still playing the original Zelda on it. Anyway, I bought this and the games based on recommendations by Brendan in that area. Awesome guy. Probably should get a raise for persuading me to get the new Zelda game. Told me about some of the newer games that’ll come out as well down the road. GF can’t wait for them. Did I mention my girlfriend is super pleased with it?

Really Enjoy the switch, just one quirk

My family and I have 2 switches, we enjoy them both but here's the quirk that we don't enjoy. If you have a Family Nintendo Online account, the primary account can enjoy games on both switches (digital downloads) but the other members of the family cannot play those games (regardless of if they are being played on the other switch). Now this is not an issue if you own the physical cartridge so note that the problem is only with digital editions. Second quirk, most games do not have cloud saves and when you "transfer" a save between systems it fully moves it from one system to the other. Now, those are the only negatives that I can say about the switch. If you are a solo player and are not sharing a system then I doubt you'll run into these issues. Battery Life is good, screen is good, games are fun. And, again if you are a solo player the digital store is great if you dont want to carry around a bunch of game cards.

I had a friend that shared they were in stock and to just keep hitting refresh as long as it didn’t show Sold Out! after 8 minutes, it went through! So far holding up well. I bought it for my 5 year old to help cope with isolation, and I forgot how much reading Nintendo games require... he likes it handheld better for little hands but we have fun with new versions of the games I loved on N64, GameCube and Wii. I love that you can play SNES and NES stuff as well!

Such a surprisingly powerful console. I was born in 1979. How far we have come with handhelds. I have yet to notice a problem w it handling Skyrim. Typically the game has issues way past the point Im at though. A wide variety of games to choose from. Colors/designs. Accessories. Holds a charge well. Im pleased.

The Switch is a really great handheld. Sure, the battery life isn't great, but the ability to take a console anywhere even without external controllers is something amazing. It's magical playing it handheld and dropping it in the dock and see it go straight up on the TV without a hitch. I was hurt by the Wii U but this is a true Nintendo experience that has them committing to 3rd parties as well. I mean Doom and Wolfenstein 2? That's a great thing. I'm looking forward to the future. I no longer pick up my 3DS and I hope it stays that way.

At first I was so stuck between this & the lite( since it was cheaper) but I’m glad I brought this because I can dock it to the tv and play on the go. Ever since I got it I haven’t been able to put it down. It’s really the best of both worlds. It’s like a DS/ wii / Xbox or ps4 all in one system. Really thought I was going to return it but nope I love it !! Only thing is if you have a Xbox, buttons are in different order so might take some time getting use.

I absolutely love the Switch. Being able to play it on the TV and also take it with me and play it where I want it has made this my most played system. The battery life is better than I expected, really quite good. The graphics are outstanding, definitely comparable to rival consoles. My only complaint is that when playing on the TV, the Joycons have trouble communicating with the system after about 10-12ft away. Kind of a bummer, but I bought the Switch Pro Controller anyway, so I've been using this instead. Otherwise, excellent consoles.

The switch is a handheld-home console hybrid. The 6.2" tablet itself is where all the power is located. As a handheld it is fantastic. The display is a crisp 720p and the controls are very well placed. The battery life is decent, but can easily be extended with the right external usb-c battery pack (check requirements). As a home console it is good. It can display up to 1080p/60fps. Most games won't reach that, Zelda for example only gets 900p/30fps. But it still performs well enough. Other than the few games available the system is currently pretty bare. Very minimal online capabilities and no third party apps available yet. Unless you must play Zelda now, I would wait a bit for Nintendo is inevitably going to add more functionality to the system.
