It should be free, or it should cost more

I definitely love how affordable it is compared to Xbox Live & PSN at just $20 per year, but the online reliability varies between games. Tetris 99 seems to work fine (& is included for free with your Nintendo Switch Online subscription), but the connection issues with Smash Ultimate, the Kirby fighting games, & the new online mode for Super Mario 3D World are abysmal. The online service Nintendo is now offering on Switch at a cost is no better than the online services that were free on the 3DS & Wii/Wii U, so it's up to you to decide if it's worth paying for. The "free" NES & SNES games are nice, but new games are added so slowly to the service now, & users really just want N64 & Gamecube games anyway. I'd be willing to pay more for Nintendo Switch Online if Nintendo actually made the service as reliable as Xbox Live & PSN & the experience on online games was better, but it's not, & I'm already able to play those "free" NES & SNES games on my 3DS & Wii, so I think the service as it stands should be free like it always has been on other Nintendo consoles until Nintendo figures out how the internet works (or at least until they do away with friend codes.) That being said, I like Splatoon, so here we are. At least I earn Best Buy points.
