This comes with retro games for free from the online store! Very much worth every penny!

Nintendo's online is no better than it was with Wii U but now they want money for it. You do get NES and SNES games though so I guess there is value there.

For an annual membership this is the best one you can get. Compared to the other online memberships for other systems Nintendo's online function falls behind.

What can I say about this? A yearly online plan for 20 dollars is a solid deal.

This is a nice way to give a year of online gaming for the Switch.

We feel a little mislead about what would be included in the membership. Relatively new to the gaming world and didn't realize it was only a few very basic games.

You probably won’t need this unless you play online. Most games on switch aren’t online. Get it if you play ACNH or smash.

Bought this for my daughter when she got her switch. She used the service for a little while, but seemed to lose interest.

Compared to Steam, PSN and Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch Online is leagues behind, especially with the archaic friend code system.

Almost everything about it sucks. * There are no dedicated servers. Instead, one player's console becomes a host console, meaning that everyone else's connection quality depends on one person who may or may not have good internet. * The cloud save feature is limited to certain games. For example, it supports Mario Odyssey backups, but not Splatoon 2 backups. If your current console breaks, all of your Splatoon 2 data (including your rank) will be wiped. Even worse, this is the only way to back up saves without modifying your console. * The fact that they haven't included voice chat on the console itself is stupid. The Switch Online app works, but you can only use it for certain games, and if you want to play a different game with your friends, you have to restart the call. Discord works way better than the app. * There haven't been any special offers as far as I know. * The NES feature works extremely well, though. You can play 2 player games online, and the experience is well polished from the UI to the emulation. However, the library is too small with only 3 games added every month, they haven't announced plans to do SNES/N64 games, and not many people have a high interest in retro games.

A Nintendo Switch Online membership is ALMOST necessary to own if you have a Switch because you will need it to play any game online. The value from their membership is far less than what you get on other consoles (especially compared to PS Plus) and the slow rate at which they add classic SNES and NES games to the playable library is pathetic. As it is, it feels like I pay 20 bucks a year to play a few online matches a year.

We just got a Nintendo Switch so maybe I am missing something BUT I set up an account for me and an sub account for my seven year old (with parental controls turned on). I then attached the Nintendo Online subscription to my (parent) account and downloaded the free Nintendo classic game pack. Sadly, when my son goes to play it (on a sub-account to my parent account) it says he does not have a online subscription. I'm still researching but this is a bit of a downer.

Purchased this and used it very little. The games on it are ok but I wasnt very interested in most of them. Havent gotten a chance to do much else yet.

I really don't see the real advantage of this subscription. There is no much option and it doesn't work for a family.
