I got these so the kid could play online. I have a main acccount, he has a kids' one linked to mine. I'm under the impression that the family can play with it, but from the way I entrered the code, it looks like it only gave mine the pass to play online and not him. Very useless as I don't play much. One star for the Nintendo online system and its cards. Just threw money away. Amd there are no clear instructions anywhere! A lot of contraticting info out there on official channels.

This helps me stay connected with my kids across the United States. We play Mario cart with each other about once a week. Helps me miss them less ❤️

You need this in order to play against other players online. Equivalent to Xbox Live but for the Switch. It sucks because this feature is free with the Wii U, but better than the $60 per year that Xbox live costs. Its only $20 for the year.

I rarely play online, but when I want to play a game of Splatoon2 with my son in Portland, I now need Switch Online. Crock of pooey if you ask me. The only reason I gave it a second star are the Nintendo classic games they "throw in".

You access so much more once you get the membership!

Was not able to redeem the code because the code was to light and some of the letters/numbers were hard to know which it was. Still haven’t cracked the code :(

This was purchased online to be picked up in store. Item was ready for pickup along with other purchased items, however, according to Nintendo. code was invalid b/c card had not been activated upon pickup. Followed up BestBuy store where item was purchased (no refund, no exchange) clerk assured me that the card was activated prior to leaving store earlier that day (was not given a replacement or apology). In the end, after providing extensive proof to Nintendo that the card was indeed purchased (and awaiting their decision) it was decided that the card wasn't activated in store and my son was allowed to proceed with his membership 5 days later:(

hardcore nintendy fan here and I have to say this service is a major let down. They need to rework their online services and make it more appealing so that people want to own instead of forcing to play. if the online multiplayer isn't for you, look away. if you're thinking it's worth it for the free Nintendo games, look away. best bet would be to wait and see if they plan to rework their services. trust me, save that 20 for something else. however, if smashing with your friends over online is the only way available to smash, then just pay for the 1 month and see just how often you end up using it (they may even have a free trial)

cheap compared to xbox and ps4 also add in classic games to play along with online play worth the money just for the classic games

I tried to scratch off the gray stuff on the back and all of the letters came off with it. Used a coin like you are supposed to and couldn’t read anything

Shame that you have to pay for online services and not necessarily get a devoted server for new and popular games. It's really cheap, but the services is lacking. There's also no clear or easy way to connect with friends.

I should have bought the one year. It was a much better value, and I'm just gonna have to reup in 3 months. Nintendo's online service was not ready for prime time anyway. You can't even send friends messages.
