For those that grew up during the SNES era, this is especially a great. Super Mario Wold, Mario Kart, Kirby! Well worth buying. Plus you can redeem easily and not worry about leaving a credit card on file on your Nintendo account. Way safer for kids.

Easy Way to Extend NSO Membership

Nintendo Switch Online itself is pretty barebones. Voice chat is kind of wonky (you need a separate smartphone app for it!). You get a number of titles from their backlog and you're able to play with others online.
