easy to use. lots of fun games for the family to play

We finally moved up from the Wii to the WiiU when we decided to get a new game system to be able to play Disney Infinity. Why did we go with WiiU over the other systems, because of the WiiU's backward game compatibility. I have tons of Playstation 2 games that I cannot play on a new Sony System, but I can play all of our Wii titles on the WiiU, so it was no contest. I do wish there were a greater selection of titles for the WiiU, like new versions of some of the sports games that we played on the Wii (like Madden)...

This was a gift for my cousin. Personally I've owned a Wii u for about a year. I had held off at launch because there weren't enough titles I liked to justify a purchase. Now there's quite a few. It's an amazing console and one of my favorites. Lots of great titles still to come in a few months so check them out!

The Wii U is so underrated. I love the Wii U and I have an Xbox. I often prefer to play Wii U. It just delivers better on FUN. Yes the graphics are better on PS4 and Xbox One, but to me, they are also barely a console. I am glad I got the Wii U.

It is great the game play is awesome and the fact that you can play on the controller as well as the TV gives you great options!

My 10 year old son is a huge Mario Brothers fan and this was the system he wanted to buy. He also likes the Skylanders game, (available on multiple systems), and really wanted the Mario Maker which allows players to create their own levels and share them through the games network. Definitely more family-oriented games than XBox or PS4.

My wife and I had a Wii that the kids loved playing on. Unfortunately it took a turn for the worse so we decided to get them the Wii U for Christmas. Needless to say, the kids were extatic. The ask to play on it every day, and with the huge variety of family friendly games, game nights are a no brainer.

My 12 year old son and 13 year old daughter have wanted a game console for a while, and so after considerable research, my wife and I decided on the Wii U over the PS4 and Xbox for several reasons. 1. The Wii promotes multiplayer use for the family, their friends, etc. instead focusing on single player online use. I read a review about PS4 and Xbox that said "get ready to have your kid in the basement with headphones on for hours playing online with some unknown person." That might be a bit of an extreme view, but I do feel good that the Wii makes it more likely that my kids are gaming with friends in the same room. 2. As for online use, I didn't want to fight a battle of internet speed for playing online, or paying any monthly fees. 3. Nintendo has a lot of great games that are not about warfare and military killing. I'm not one of those parents that shields their kids from all violent images (just watched several James Bond movies with my son), but I really hate seeing warfare glorified in gaming and just can't allow it in our house.

Who are you kidding? You've got a family and probably grew up playing Mario games. That's why you're looking at the Wii U. Unlike the Wii, this console won't disappoint you. The hardware is beautiful; almost as if it had been designed in Cupertino, CA. Only less metal-ly. A great feature of the Wii U system is that you can use Wiimotes as controllers. Which 1) you probably have 2-4 of these gathering dust in a box and 2) are extremely useful in keeping all your kids busy. The games and software are great. These are the best games you can get for young families. You get a strong feeling of nostalgia and you instantly feel sure that you won't have to worry about your children being exposed to anything inappropriate. You can even play Wii games, however, doing so isn't quite so easy. The Wii U game makes you load the old Wii software. Oh, well, at least it DOES have backwards compatibility. If you're kids are older, their interest may wane a little. However, this is THE console to get if you have younger kids. Hope this review helps.

I bought this unit so my 9 year old can have something to play with while I'm playing on my PS4, well, I think I've been on it more then she has and I love the way it plays, I would definitely suggest this to anyone who is having second thoughts about a 2nd Wii system, It's a keeper lots of fun to play

I purchased this console for my eight year old son and he is beyond happy with it. The interaction you get to experience while playing incorporates the whole family. We love to watch him play as well as joining in. Easy to use and learn. Sturdy material, and even easy to install. Highly recommended.

We all enjoy playing Mario Kart 8. Hulu, Netflix, YouTube and internet access is great. The only complaint we have with this is that the stylus does not stay in place and can easily be lost.

I originally had an Xbox One which my 4 yr old wanted to always use. Unfortunately the remote was too complicate and the games were more focused for adults. So I got him the Nintendo Wii U with Mario Kart and he is absolutely in love with it. My only complaint is the gamepad needs to be charged after every use. The battery probably only lasts four hours. And definitely get a soft skin for the gamepad instead of drops. But otherwise this system is great for the little guy.

My kids are 4 and 6 years old so this game system seemed to be more of a fit than the others on the market. It is easy to set up and play and the WiiU controller is very cool. You will need to purchase other peripherals depending on how many people you intend on having play at one time.

My son rec'd this system for Christmas and absolutely loves it! He especially likes the ability to play on the console while we are watching television. The updates are a little annoying because of how long they take to complete. As parents we were a little confused on which extra controllers to purchase because only one player can play the system out of the box but thankfully our son also rec'd those as gifts from other family members. Otherwise it has been a hit!

I had purchased a WiiU back in 2013 and ended up taking it back because my kids were too small to enjoy it fully but now that theyre older we all sit around playing mario kart or super mario 3D world and have a blast. My first console as a kid was the original nintendo And I still have fond memories of my cousins and siblings staying up playing it. And I wanted the same thing for my kids now a days that the adult gaming systems like Xbox One which I own also for me and Playstation 4 are intended for older people teenagers and up and I wanted a console everybody enjoys Im glad I grew up in the video game era because I can now enjoy it with them. The screen on the gamepad is really cool I wish other consoles had it. They can play on the couch while me and my wife watch tv. We have it in our living room and my wife can play it in our room on the gamepad from like 30 feet away and through a wall I really enjoy it because the whole family can have fun together.

I know the Nintendo Wii U gets a bad rap from a majority of the gaming community, but as for my family and myself, we love it!!! You can't go wrong with Nintendo first party games. Mario Kart 8. Splat on. Super Mario Maker. They are all great! And the Wii U game pad is a blast!!!

I purchased this item for my family as a gift. They love the system and have been playing it regularly. The system is easy to set up. The clarity of the system is amazing compared to the Wii. Mario Kart provides great entertainment. I would highly recommend purchasing this item.

I HAVE VERY MUCH ENJOYED MY NEW GAME CONSOLE. IT WAS EASY TO SET UP AND I LOVE THAT IT CONNECTS TO MY INTERNET ROUTER THAT IS APPROXIMATELY 100 FT AWAY FROM THE CONSOLE. I USE IT TO ALSO WATCH NETFLIX. IT HAS OPENED A WHOLE NEW WORLD OF TV ENJOYMENT FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.
