This game is flat out gorgeous. Think very fast paced Dark souls with WAYYYY too much customization, abilities, stances, weapons and armors. It can be a bit intimidating but its worth getting into. The game may be a little deceiving as there is an optional boss within the first 10 minutes of the game that may seem unbeatable but it is expected to skip.

Excellent game. Took the first game and improved on all aspects. Decent story, best character creation I have seen yet, and excellent combat. Very fun to play through.

If you loved nioh 1 and/or love dark souls then you will love this game. Very hard and rewarding. You will die a lot but never gets boring

Nioh 1 was essentially a 3rd person Souls-like/very light action-RPG with melee and some ranged weapon preferences. One of the things I greatly disliked about that previous title was the level design, weapon choices, and the constant reusing of enemies over and over and over and over again for 100hrs along with a very boring protagonist.
Nioh 2 has finally gotten this all right while maintaining the core action and "Git Gud" sentiment. You have a greater choice of weapons even within the same category. Enemies will still repeat and *spoiler alert you do have a lot of reused enemies from Nioh 1. However with that said, the level design makes up for this monotony by hiding a lot of surprises and fighting these enemies in a multitude of differing environments. Furthermore, the developers have made things simpler by providing the ability to summon other players (although just their characters really but not an actual second player) to help with difficult areas and/or boss fights. I rage quitted Nioh 1 at about 80hrs due to the increased difficulty per level along with the same enemies but so far at about 50hrs, I am still strongly committed to Nioh 2 due to a lot of these improvements.
Lastly, the best part of Nioh 2 and every developer out there should take note, is the character creator! Unlike the Fallout/ES or Dark Souls series, it is very hard to create a character that does not look beautiful. You have so much freedom and the creator even on a default, is a Da Vinci masterpiece. Furthermore your character, although silent, translates very well in the cut scenes as well. This is easily the best character creator system I have ever seen and would like other developers to compete with this system for future games!
Now go Git Gud and punish yourself!

Hard but very challenging and rewarding Looter RPG game. A must for all Action RPG (ARPG) players and new players alike who are seeking for a fun action packed game set in Feudal Japan. Best part is you can play with up to 2 people co-op (Total of 3).
Warning this game is VERY hard and you die many times... that doesnt mean to rage quit though. Keep playing and you will eventually make it through til the end and... New Game Plus!!!

I havent finished the game yet, but so far this game is definitely worth it. I will say it is somewhat of an acquired taste though. It is much different from dark souls, it has more rpg elements in your gear and skills. Gameplay is fun but the skills can get a little bit boring quickly, as none of them are flashy like Sekiro. Overall if you like souls-type games and enjoy rpg style games as well this is worth a try.

I loved and platinum the first game, been enjoying this one immensely. Feels more balanced and added things to keep gameplay fresh, love the new weapon immensley. And love the new way to learn magic and ninjutsu vs the first game, now I feel like I have more versatility in how I level up.
Also... The steelbook is mint and I'm afraid to open the artbook because of how pretty it is.

So good!!! But hard!!! - Nioh 2 is an action role-playing game developed by Team Ninja and Kou Shibusawa. Both prequel and sequel to Nioh, the game was released for the PlayStation 4 on March 13, 2020, where it was published by Koei Tecmo in Japan and Sony Interactive Entertainment worldwide!!!

A sequel that improves upon all of its predecessor's strengths. Highly customizable and with very deep endgame content loop similar to Diablo. High replayability and features very nice multiplayer. Sort of like the souls series but with faster gameplay.

Feels just as smooth as the first one but everything else looks and plays GREAT. If you found the first Nioh a challenge, this one bumps it up a notch. And if you love a feudal Japan era challenging game, than this one is right up your alley. A beautiful game, thank you.

Nioh 2 is a lot more fun to play than its predecessor, and much less frustrating than the Dark Souls series. Yes, one can still "die" time after time and lose all that amrita, but it does not get to the point where one wants to throw the controller at the TV screen.

Nioh was already amazing and super in depth. They doubled down on Nioh 2. Much more smooth visually and character reaction.
The special edition added a beautiful steelbook, artbook and season pass. Great addition for those who enjoyed the first game.
