A Great Casual eBike
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I became a casual bike rider recently and am very happy with this bike’s performance. First off, I am 5’6” and it is a perfect fit for me with the seat at its lowest position. You can tell it is very well constructed with excellent fit and finish. There are three peddle assist speeds controlled by two buttons on the handlebars. This works very well if you need to take a break with your workout or for going up steep hills. The first speed is good for casual riding. It really takes off on the second and third speed so be prepared for that. There is also a throttle on the handlebars in case you want to ride without peddling. This works well too. The max speed with peddle assist of 28 mph and 20mph with the throttle. I was able to ride something like 75 miles on mostly speed 1 and with mostly flat level streets and a few hills. If the batteries run out, you can still use it as a regular bike with no assistance. The screen gives a lot of useful information and is easy to see in the sunlight. Information such as speed, assistance power, battery level, overall miles, trip miles and trip time are included, as well as other information. The bike has a permanently on headlight similar to daytime running lights and includes an actual headlight that can be turned on to see at night. It also has a break light. All of this is good for use during daytime and nighttime. It uses a drive belt instead of a drive chain which is an excellent design decision and makes everything very quiet and clean. It has fatter tires which work well when controlling it over somewhat bumpy roads and potholes. Since there is no suspension, you can still feel every bump and I would imagine it would not be suitable for any surface too beat up or off road. It is probably not designed for that anyway. The disc brakes are tight and stop the bike quickly, sometimes too quickly. There are a couple of things that could use improving. Assembly is very difficult, especially with one person and really needs two people to make it easier. The assembly instructions are almost non-existent and require a lot of guess work and hope that you get it right. I am very glad there are videos showing assembling it on YouTube. While the screen has a lot of useful information and settings, navigating it is difficult and cumbersome. It is a case where they limit controlling the screen to reutilizing three buttons that serve a different purpose while riding. It would have been a lot easier to use if it had either dedicated buttons for it or a touch screen. Overall, a great bike for smooth pavement and the casual rider with a lot of very good features and a good design. I highly recommend it.

Lies, lies
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many of what this bike claims is a lie. 90 miles? No, mine reached up to 30 with both batteries. 28 mph? No, mine just did 22mph with fast peddling. Tires puncture resistance? No, i got a flat tire on my second ride of 3 miles, my bike is brand new.

VERY DISAPPOINTED
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this e bike last month, and I have only been able to ride it 2 times. It makes so much noise that I can hear it over my head phones. I would have either returned it or exchanged for another, but I found out there was only a 15 day warranty to return. During those 15 days, my bike was not working properly.

Extreme disappointment
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a $1999 E-bike I expected better quality. TL;DR Disappointed and do not recommend. Let's highlight the pros first. Belt drive instead of chain, makes no noise and is nearly maintenance free. Charges quickly. Even with 2 batteries, not as heavy as expected. Power assist is nice, and changes depending on which level from 1-3 that you select. Max speed I was able to get was 20.5mph. Letting a better in shape friend and experienced cyclist ride it, the best speed we saw was 23.6, over 4mph slower than advertised even using full throttle. No suspension so ride quality is average bicycle quality, which is to be expected. The headlight is decent for night riding, taillight is visible from a good distance making it safer for night riding. Rode in the rain during the midwest storms recently a couple of times. No electronics issues so far. Cons are many and start right out of the box. The assembly instructions are rudimentary at best, causing confusion when putting this together. No tire pressure recommendations in the manual, so used the tire sidewall for minimums. I've assembled crate motorcycles that were easier. Quality of construction is lacking. The welds on the rear rack look like an amateur did them, no consistency. Fit and finish is poor. Paint quality is below average. When installing the front fender, actually had to slightly bend it to get it to some semblance of parallel to the tire. Steering stem has some forward and backward play, not tight or confidence inspiring. Front fender torques left noticeably when front brake is applied. Even checking all bolts to ensure they are tight, this bike feels loose and rickety, not confidence inspiring. Speaking of brakes, these are atrocious. No matter how I adjusted, them they would never completely lock up while riding. Disc brakes should be better. You need to plan out your stops ahead of time and hope there's no emergency. For example, measuring from a planned stopping spot and riding at 19.5- 20.1mph, stopping distance was anywhere from 37ft 7inches to 45ft 4inches. And that's using both front and rear brakes together while also knowing that you're going to stop. Worse when using just rear brakes. And would be worse in a real riding situation as you need to take into account reaction time. Someone very lightweight may get more speed and range out of this, but for an average person, range isn't near what is claimed in my experience. With the 2 batteries I could get an expected range of 63 miles. That might increase as I learn the bike, pedal more, etc. But I don't see a full 90 miles at my current level of experience. Personal gripe- I think the red batteries clash with the look of the bike. Color matched or black would be more aesthetically pleasing. All in all, I'm very disappointed with this and would not recommend the NUI BQi-C3 Pro.

Super fun with great battery life.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, I have been loving cruising around on my new e-bike! I have been zipping around all over town. I must start by saying that I really love this e-bike. The bike comes in a large and heavy box. I needed help carrying the box to my back yard so that I could build it. I did not even use the instructions because the product page on Best Buy's website features a full length video on unpacking, building, and setting up the bike. So i started the video and got to work. It is not hard to remove the bike out of the box and remove the packing material. Then you mount the front tire, which is a pretty standard process compared to most normal bikes. Then you install the handle bars, then the pedals. The bike comes with a tool bag with all of the wrenches you need and even a screwdriver. It was actually very easy. I then installed the two batteries and turned on the bike. I quickly shot out of my backyard and took it for a spin around the block. I was super impressed with the speed and ease of getting going. The next day I filled the tires correctly with air and mounted a cell phone holder. I turned on my favorite playlist and away I went. I cruised for almost an hour testing all of the capabilities of the bike. If you pedal in one of the gears it will accelerate with the pedal assist. You can also simply push the lever and it will go without pedaling. The bike also has a headlight and brake light. The digital display is very nice and easy to read and use. The bike also has two batteries which gives it a very long run time. I have truly enjoyed running around town with it. The only downside I have noticed with the bike is that it has a rigid fork and no suspension features at all. This makes the ride very stiff at times. I am told that you can replace the fork with a suspension fork, but for the price I would figure a suspension fork would be included. Overall I really love this bike and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a nice ride around town without having to worry about a low battery.

Batteries
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this bike for a week and I like it. I still need to explore all the benefits I can get from it though. The only concern I have is that the battery goes down very quickly without using the electrical side as much.

New e-bike
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I assembled this bike with little trouble. Once done I brought it outside. Having bad knees myself it was painful but my daughter went around and zipped up hill w/o peddling. She said it went 20mph. I've been looking for more than a year. I wanted a geared belt for fewer parts. It has 3 speeds anyway. It's a sturdy unit thats just as much fun as my 1st. bike. 1 speed stop and go. Great machine.

NIU e-bike poorly made - zero customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am unable to remove the batteries from the frame following the instructions. There is no customer support - I have contacted them 4 times and finally was told I would void the warranty if I ‘disassembled the battery’ and I should ‘take it to their after-sales center’ for repair. How can you void the warranty when the manufacturer supplied keys and instructions on removing the batteries from the frame? Where is their after-sales center? This is the second NIU e-bike I’ve received from Best Buy. DON’T purchase thir e-bike!
