Cannot Sync more than 100 photos
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good digital photo frame. However, only 100 google photos can be synced for free on the nixplay. This is very disappointing since we have to keep changing the album every time.

Very Nice Smart Photo Frame
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nixplay Smart Photo Frame is a great digital frame that is a wonderful way to display those precious pictures we'd all like to display. I'm a picture guy. I have thousands of pictures on my phone and in the cloud. I have pictures all over my house. The problem is, all those pictures in the frames are years, if not decades old. I just never get around to swapping them out. And the pictures on my phone, well, I just never get around to printing them out, and it's not like I take a stroll down memory lane all that often. So that's where a product like this comes in handy. To start off, setup was just a tad more complex than I expected. The actual physical assembly of the stand wasn't as straightforward as I would've expected, but nothing too crazy. One annoyance was that the little plastic tab you're supposed to pull to take the plastic screen cover off just came right off, leaving the cover stuck on the screen. I had to sit there and pick and pick at it for like 10 minutes before I was actually able to get it off. This is the second time I've had a product do this, and both had the same type of little plastic sticky tab stuck onto the screen protector. I think the Texas heat kills the adhesive on those tabs so they just come right off when you get them. I wish they'd stop using these. That aside, setup is not tough at all. You plug in the frame and follow the prompts on screen. There is also a smart phone app that you set up as well. It's all very simple, and in the age of smart products, should be nothing new to most people. The touch screen on the frame is very responsive, basically just like your smart phone. Sometimes these can be hit or miss, but not here. They did a great job. Getting photos onto the frame is pretty straightforward. You just use the smartphone app to upload the pictures you want, by creating "playlists" for your frame. These get stored on your free Nixplay account. I think the free account gives you 8GB of storage space. You can pay to upgrade, but I think 8GB should be plenty, especially if you maintain your photos and cycle them in and out periodically. Once you create your playlist and upload it to the cloud, the pictures automatically start appearing on the frame. When it comes to how they are displayed, you have several options. The default is a slideshow which uses a variety of transition effects. It is very pleasant to look at. You can customize this if you would like, choosing specific timings, transitions, etc. I find the default option works great for me, but it's nice to have this level of customizations. These frames have come a long way since I last used one. It also features Google Photos integration, but I don't have a Google Photos account to test it out. I assume you can just connect it to your account and tell it to play specific playlists. It sounds very convenient. I wish they would do something like that with Apple, but I understand that is probably more an Apple issue than Nixplay. Even still, the Nixplay app is very easy to use and makes it a breeze to maintain your photos. Overall I am super happy with this frame, and I love that I get to display and enjoy so many of these pictures I take all the time. It's a great product, and I would highly recommend it.

My favorite new tech!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew this picture frame was going to be cool, but it has far exceeded my expectations. It has a super clear picture and is very easy to use. It also has a very sleek design. Right out of the box you can tell that this frame is extremely high quality. It has a nice textured pattern on the back and the stand is very sturdy. The power cord is also very long. You download the app and it prompts you to add a device. In only a few minutes you are up and running. The app lets you upload photos right from your phone, it cannot be easier. Then they are displayed on the frame. It is actually easy easier than i thought it would be. The photos look so sharp, the resolution will not disappoint you. It even plays movie clips in the same high quality. The best part of the frame is that you can share your photo Playlist with anyone you like and they can add photos to your frame. This was sooo cool. I shared it with my immediate family and we had a ton of fun. We all uploaded fun photos and left the frame on our main console. I love this frame! I know anyone who gets this will not be disappointed.

Wow, not your grandma’s digital photo frame!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned a digital photo frame years ago, and really enjoyed it. I had to add photos to a memory card and then move it to the frame, and hoped it worked. When it did I got great mediocre quality images (for its time it was good). I was pleasantly surprised with how innovative a company like Nixplay was able to be. First off, the setup is pretty simple. They provide a link you scan with a few videos walking you through the basics. I’m pretty good without instructions but the videos are brief and helpful, def recommend watching. It’s a quality feeling tablet-like frame. Once you get the frame assembled then its about adding media. I didn’t realize this frame would play videos, so I was quite excited about that. Be aware there is no sound on the videos as the frame doesn’t have speakers, which is good IMO since I’d strongly dislike sound randomly popping on while I’m working (I keep it on my desk). You can also easily rotate the frame between portrait and landscape mode and it will adjust the photos automatically for you. Adding media is super easy which is one of my favorite features of this frame. You can add through a web browser or through an app on your phone, of course most people keep their photos on their phone. During the setup you need to add your Frame to your wifi and tie it to your account you create during setup. Then you create Playlists which are great for splitting the photos up. You add photos and videos to them as you need and you can choose to play that playlist. If you have multiple frames, you can assign playlists to specific frames as well. You can also play all the playlists on your frame(s) randomly in case you’re not in the mood to pick a particular one. I love the convenience of this as you can have a friends playlist when you are having friends come over, family for family, etc… One thing I realized is you can add photos when you’re not on wifi! That’s right, you can be anywhere in the world and be adding photos to your frame at home to update and manage them. According to Nixplay you also get 10GB of Cloud Storage while this device comes with 8GB of storage. Not sure how the Cloudstorage works yet, I assume you can add photos to their cloud if you fill up the memory on your frame adding more photos overall to your frame(s). On top of this you can add captions to the photos along with other edits and modifications, most of which require the Plus membership. It has an IPS panel which is nice HD quality and good viewing angles. The panel is also a touch screen, but has limitations of no swiping, just tap and double tap. Single tap gives you options while the double tap “likes” the photo. There is also a sleep option with a built-in motion sensor. It can go to sleep after X amount of time of it not detecting motion, wake up again with motion, or go to sleep during set hours. While most of what I’ve talked about are pros, some of the cons are the lack of sound of no speakers (even though I prefer this, but some people may not understand whats happening in some videos), limited touch screen to only taps, and the potential security concerns with the App having access to my phone’s photos and sending them through their servers then onto my device. This is a double-edged sword as it’s a huge benefit too, but I am paranoid when it comes to privacy. They do claim the data is encrypted and secure through several compliances they follow in their defense but I’m not sure if this is just when photos are stored in cloud storage or for photos that are in transmission from phone to frame. These cons are acceptable for me, and they are definitely outweighed by the pros. Overall I’m very impressed with what Nixplay has done to Digital Frames. I really like the fact that you can add pictures to your frames and change the playlists on-the-go all from your phone. I was blown-away by all the features I kept discovering about this digital photo frame, one after the other. I guess I just didn’t expect this much innovation since the last one I owned. Oh, and for those who may appreciate it, they plant a tree for every smart digital frame device purchased.

High price with minimal storage
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nixplay Smart Photo Frame is yet another device designed to lure you into a monthly subscription. Like many people, my cell phone has all but replaced my digital camera. The problem is now I have tons of photos and memories on my phone and have been looking for a way to display them without printing and framing each one. Enter digital photo frames. The Nixplay Smart Photo Frame Touchscreen is well constructed and feels solid. It comes with anchors for wall mounting and a stand that works both with portrait and landscape. There is also a regular version of this frame that does not have the touch screen; rather it comes with a remote control to emulate the touch features. While it's nice to add the features, isn't a frame supposed to be set and forget? Not sure the need. Setup starts with connecting to Wi-Fi using the touchscreen keyboard. There was an update that happened immediately after connecting. The Nixplay app recognized the frame and connected to it without issue. You can use the touchscreen to handle most everything on the frame including settings and photo forward and back but you need the app to load your photos and upto 15 second videos to the frame as there is no memory card slot or USB port. I’m not a fan of touchscreens due to fingerprints and this is no different. Uploading photos via the app is straightforward, select your photos from your camera roll and send them to the frame. This is limited due to the frames 8GB internal and 10GB cloud storage limit however, you can subscribe to their service for a monthly fee which will give you up to 50GB cloud storage and allows videos up to one minute. It also provides discounts on additional frames and photo prints. Interestingly it also provides an unlimited warranty on the frame for as long as you subscribe and 24/7 phone support unlike the limited monday-friday support for non-members. The app also allows you to invite friends to send photos and videos to your frame as well as share frame permissions. This requires the other people to also install the app and create accounts. It is important to know that only one person can pair with the frame so in my case my wife has to be granted permission to control the frame or invited to share her photos with it. Getting her setup wasn’t as easy as I had hoped but we finally got it. The app also tries to be a type of social media platform where you can chat with your family and friends. If you have parents or grandparents and want to share photos with them (and they can get the app to work) this could be a nice feature for you. The display is crisp and bright however, it is also very reflective. At this price I would have liked an anti-reflective coating or museum glass that can be purchased at most frame shops. You can have your photos displayed to fit the screen, fill the screen, pan and zoom or snapshot. You can also select the transition between photos and the length of time they are displayed. I really like the snapshot mode. There is a volume control for videos but I didn’t load any and a brightness adjustment so you can set the frame to your liking and surroundings but there is no auto brightness adjustment which I found odd and would have liked for this price. The frame is able to detect motion/activity which is used to shut it down when there is no one present. There are 10 sensitivity levels for motion detection and at the default highest level, the frame never shuts off. Reducing the sensitivity to 5 has allowed it to shut off a few times but this seems to be hit or miss. You can also define start and stop times to turn the frame off at night as it is pretty bright. The scheduling feature works as it should however. I really like the concept of digital frames and ultimately don’t hate this one, however, with many if not most digital frames of a similar size costing half the price, the lack of a media card/usb port, the confusing sharing part of the app and subscription plan - I find it difficult to recommend the Nexplay Smart Photo Frame to a friend.

Nixplay Smart Photo Frame 10.1" Touch Screen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I received my Nixplay Smart Photo Frame a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. I have been wanting a smart photo frame for quite some time now to display family photos of loved ones (especially of those no longer with me). This is a very elegant frame and everything you need to get started is included in the package. Inside the package is comes the smart photo frame, 2-piece stand, power cord, and user manual. Simply attach both of the 2 pieces of the stand together following along with the user manual. Next download the companion Nixplay app from the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android. Setup and create your account. Next simply plug in the power adapter. Initially I ran into issues with connecting the app and frame together but after a quick reboot and connection to Wi-Fi, the frame was found via its serial number. A quick update of firmware and reboot of the frame (which happened automatically after the firmware update) and the frame is ready for photos. Though it took me a couple of tries, I was able to upload some of my most precious photos to the frame and watch in amazement. I did find the app software to be a bit clunky as well as the on-screen software on the frame. Though everything was fairly easy to use, it just didn't seem to flow as smoothly as I would've liked. However, nonetheless, this smart photo frame does exactly what it's supposed to. The on-screen software allows you to tweak how long it takes for the photo transitions to take place and what style you'd like them to transition. You can also set the frame to start up when you walk into a room and automatically turn off when you leave the room. The display al features the date and time on screen as well. I really love this frames, especially for seeing my pictures of my loved ones and my furbaby Charlie. The smart photo frame can be displayed in either portrait or landscape mode and your photos will adjust. All in all, its a nice smart photo frame that I'd recommend to anyone.

Nice frame!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nixplay Smart Photo Frame is a great way to display your most cherished memories and loved ones in your life. So far the experience with this smart photo frame has been pretty good. Setup was easy using the the Nixplay app and should only take about 10 minutes or so. I set mine up with photos of my family I had in my camera roll. Then I just created a playlist within the app and that was pretty much it. Takes a few seconds to register and transfer over to the frame but it was a fairly painless experience. Of course, like with everything these days, there is a subscription option for storing and displaying you photos. I personally didn’t find it necessary as the included free tier option works just fine and suits my needs. The touch screen function is really cool too. You can wake up the frame with a tap, and the onboard controls will pop up. You can also use your phone to customize and power on the frame as well. My family loves the frame and reliving some good times we’ve all had together. It’s a nice option if you want to display your photos without being limited to just one picture. One downside in my opinion, is the resolution. Would be nice if they had a standard higher resolution on these frames. Our phones these days are capable of so much. Overall, this Nixplay frame has been great. It’s been nice to display photos I’ve had just sitting in my camera roll for years. Now, we can all enjoy them!

Beautiful Frame that is Easy to Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This frame is awesome! The first thing we noticed was that there is a physical stand now instead of using the shaped cord to hold up the frame. That is a small thing but a huge improvement for us that helps keep the frame upright. The second thing we noticed was the very easy to use touch screen. The frame basically works like a tablet now where we can easily pause or go into settings to change the display mode, turn on shuffle, change the volume or brightness. In the Display mode you have 11 different transitions to pick from or if you can't decide you can keep it on random which is our favorite as the kids like to watch and see what happens to get to the next picture. The third feature we really like is using the app to add text to the pictures. With our kids changing every day its a subtle way to put a reminder of what, when and or where the picture was taken. The app is also very simple to use for adding the latest pictures. Within a few clicks the pictures are instantly uploaded from our smartphone to the frame with stunning quality. We've had the frame up for a week now and we really have nothing negative to say about it. It works flawlessly with great design and sharp images. I would highly recommend this frame to anyone whether they are a beginner or a pro at sharing pictures.
