Decided to give it a spin because I have been feeling too connected to my mobile device lately. I was disappointed to find that the device has many built in apps, all of which display advertising when opened. Additionally, the built in news and weather apps also open advertisements as soon as they are opened. I find it disappointing that even a basic device such as this one has advertising.
Regarding build quality, the device is larger than I remember flip phones being, and that is a good thing as it's comfortable to hold & the buttons are easy to press. The camera is fine; it is better than I'd expect out of a flip phone. The speaker is nice and loud, and calls are clear.
It excels at being a phone, but I am bothered by the built-in non-removable apps that have advertising built in. For the price point, I would not expect built-in advertising.
I will be returning the device.

This phone is easy to set up and simple to use. It has good battery life, the large buttons work well, and it folds so it can easily fit in a pocket. It has some apps, Google maps, email and internet capability, and a camera; they're functional but nothing fancy. However, it works great for phone calls and texting which suits my needs very well. I love it!

This is a very Basic phone that i purchased for my aunt since she is dont like really complicated phones, and even its simple anf easy to use you still have some features that are really good like the basic camera, the browser and other apps that can be useful at some point, she likes the big nimbers and easy interface with no complications, really nice phone and also compact.

While the phone itself has been very easy to use and provides most modern amenities appreciated in a phone (text, call, YouTube, GPS), it can sometimes be difficult to keep up with the evolving world with only a dumbphone. This makes for the perfect phone if you are looking for a limited-capability work phone or broadly do not need much beyond those four basic functions. However, many webpages do not work properly with the browser, and this has introduced a fair amount of difficulty into activities such as concert-going. In short, it's exactly what you want out of the phone, but nothing more, for better or worse.
Trying to do too much and somehow does too little.

Build:
Very chintzy, feels like it will break in your hand. You eventually get used to it and I don't think it is actually fragile it just doesn't feel as sturdy as perhaps it is.
The buttons are mushy are are not very distinct. It makes it harder to type without looking at the keys. It might as well be a touch screen.
Software:
There is more even in this flip phone than I wanted or needed. I bought this because I am trying to downsize and disconnect. There are apps like Youtube that I will not use and there is no way to hide. The best you can do is move the app to the last page. It is pretty frustrating that it is smart enough to have these apps but not to hide or even delete them.
I do really like like apps like the "ToDo" app that comes installed. Things like this that increase productivity are useful. On the other hand the ToDo app is super basic and doesn't even let you rearrange the order of your tasks.
The phone, messaging and calendar apps are very slow. These are the most basic things that I am going to use the phone for and there is a lot of lag.
Another thing that is really frustrating is that you have to click the enter, back or end call button more than once to get it to work, particularly when you are navigating through the phone. The end call button does not always work and you think you would be able to hold the back button to go home but that is not an option so sometime you have to mash the back button to get all the way back home which is tedious. A lot of the apps are janky and lag when navigating around them. In the contact app when you open it and press "down" to start scrolling through your list the app will just jump back to the top of the list and it will do this indefinitely unless you press down 2 or 3 times in rapid succession. Very annoying.
Battery Life:
It's great. I don't really have any recent experience of another feature phone to compare this to but it lasts for days without a charge and as long as I can get through one day without a charge anything else is a bonus. It also charges fast which is nice.
Camera:
I use it to take photos of things I need to remember. I am not using it for photography per se. I will say that it takes forever to actually take a photo from the moment you press the button.
Typing:
T9 is T9, however I will say that when you are using predictive text and press the 4 key "ghi" expecting to get "I" it will give you "G". Who posts a G on its own? If you press that key you think it would start you off with "I" since that is a very commonly used word but predictive text doesn't really kick in until you add a second letter. You would think that if you pressed the "_"space button after pressing "ghi" that it would correct the "G" and make it an "I" but it does not. This may sound like a nitpick but likely one of the very few things you will be doing with this phone is texting so this is extremely tedious.
Other:
USB C is very welcome. It can take up to a 32gb SD card. I like to put podcasts on the phone to listen to in my car which leads me to my biggest complaint about this device. The Bluetooth for media is horrendous. I haven't tried using Bluetooth for phone calls but when attempting to listen to audio in my car the audio will just stop and then catch up all at once. The audio skips around so I miss most of anything I am listening to. I would just use the Aux cable but the Aux cable will not play sound out to my car at all and I know that it is not my car because I have an mp3 player that works just fine. In fact, the auxiliary port does not work at all, even on a pair of headphones.
Conclusion:
I said a lot of negative things about the phone but there are two massive benefits that override all of these complaints.
1) The price
It is inexpensive.
2) It is unlocked
You can activate it on most GSM carriers (which is most carriers)
These two benefits combined are so valuable. I like the red color. It works well enough and you can grow use to the phone's shortcomings. I am saving money on a prepaid carrier and the phone is helping me to unplug which has been much needed for my mental wellbeing. I don't regret my purchase (unless I see something similar for the same price that works better which I have not).
I would recommend this to a friend

It's OK. The processor is not great so it's pretty slow navigating the menu. Texting is not like the old days when you'd have to press the numbers several times to get the right letter. Rather, you press numbers and the system predicts what word you are trying to get and then you have t pick the word in a menu. The youtube and browing apps are so bad and slow they're unusable. Picture quality is not good. But then again, if you want smart phone features and usability get a smart phone. This does the job of being a phone. It is plastic so I hop it holds up. Overall, pretty pleased and my 10 year old is happy with it so far. I think he misses his apple watch though.

Very decent flip phone, does everything I need it to do, which is mostly phone calls and occasional texts. The texting is clunky, using the number keys to select the letters you want, and the "predictive" text option seems pretty useless to someone used to texting on a smartphone. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to remove the bloatware. Why does this phone come with the YouTube app? I can't ever see myself wanting to watch YouTube on a flip phone. So I would prefer just to uninstall some things to free up clutter. But overall I am pleased with the purchase for the purpose I need the phone for. I haven't used the camera so I can't speak to that, but the battery seems to last a good long time.

Easy to use for seniors.Big buttons. Bright. My 84 year old Father in Law wanted a smartphone then never used it, it was too much for him, wanted to go back to something simpler. This fit the bill. Perfect size for his pocket, ease of use........some people just want a simple phone, this is it.

Do not buy this. Do not buy from Best Buy.
1. The phone is very cheap. My screen malfunctions from day 1. It grays out & is unresponsive then recovers on its own. The battery life is short, requiree charging daily even without much use. It cannot maintain a bluetooth connection in a car. Pictures received in texts will be a 1cm thumbnail, open individually to grainy 4cmx6cm screen. You can download & slightly zoom on the screen. Images with words are almost impossible to read. The texting does not default to capital letter I so your texts cannot use first person pronoun unless you hit 4 buttons to select it. This is a step too far from screen detox into self-flagellation. No thanks.
2. BestBuy customer service is polite & totally impotent. 14 day window is written in stone. I purchased 21 days ago and i need to eat it.

The phone is good, it can make calls, use whatever carrier service you previously used, use mobile data/wifi, can watch youtube and use google maps. Overall it's exactly what you expect a flip phone to be. My only gripe is that it doesn't have the Google Play app store so you won't be able to download any extra apps that you may deem neccesary, it has another app store that only lets you download off brand games. Overall not bad.

The best flip flop phone there is. It has everything a smart phone could have without being one. I am super happy with it I replaced with my I phone and I honestly love all the features it brings an it’s so practical to use. Nokia hasn’t changed they still provide 5 star phones all around. I thank the staff and Best Buy for always helping me pick my best options there always know exactly what I’m looking for. I recommend this phone for everybody from young people to older adkutls it’s magnificent!!!!

This phone has all the features I wanted: a removable battery; a headphone jack; an internet connection; place for a memory card and it's easy to use.
I got tired of the planned obsolescence games the Smart Phone industry plays. This phone cost a fraction of what I paid for 2 other Smart Phones.
I use my laptop for the internet.
The battery for the Nokia lasts longer than the ones in my Smart Phones. I don't know about the camera - haven't used it. I keep a piece of tape over it for privacy.

Great choice for phone addicts like myself. This thing works great. It has everything I need to feel safe (i.e. google maps, which works just poorly enough that I'm incentivized to know my way around my city, but just well enough that I'm safe). If you're thinking about switching to a flip phone, do it. Texting on this is genuinely fun, and calling is a blast. If you've never slammed a phone shut to hang up a call you are missing out on one of the life's biggest joys. Also if you are worried about rideshare apps: most major rideshares have a phone number you can call to book a rideshare over the phone. Easy peasy. The rideshare calling service is marketed to seniors, much like this phone. But as a youngin I can tell you that you don't need to have silver hair to enjoy a golden life. Oh also one last thing -- camera quality is actually amazing!! It's the screen that's low quality. Send your photos to your computer and you will see on a high-resolution screen the photos are awesome. With just enough lofi charm to look super cool. Lofi digital photos are gonna be the next big thing, mark my words

The Nokia 2780 is a good choice for seniors. I prefer it to Jitterbug mainly because I can block nuisance numbers. Also, if the person is able to use a few smartphone features like contacts, email, and maps, they can do so. The numbers on the keypad are large enough to see. The "answer and hang up" choice can be configured to open and close or via the keypad.

Great low tech phone! It functions great and will do what you neesd it to do. The two issues I had with it were getting group text messages and the email app always signing me out. Would recommend for the price.

Bought this bad boy 2 weeks ago, best decision I ever made leaving my iPhone behind. Best Buy was very helpful when buying the phone. The phone itself is a tank very durable and the battery last for days.

I bought this Nokia 2780 flip phone to replace the Alcatel flip phone that I received through V*****n and that would drop my calls 90% of the time. I also bought it so that I could switch carriers (instead of $40+ per month for unlimited minutes/text [no data] through V*****n, I now pay less than $10 per month).
This Nokia 2780 flip phone is excellent and very easy and intuitive to use. After clicking on the menu and thoroughly exploring all of its features, I have nothing negative to say about it and would highly recommend it. Based on my previous experience with flip phones, I did not need to read a user guide in order to figure out how to use it. However, if you happen to have specific questions, information can be readily found online. In sum, it is a basic phone that serves the purpose and is well suited for non-fussy tech users like myself who tend to favor the KISS principle.
