I returned to Best Buy the following day, but since it was not within 14 days, my options were to use the insurance I had purchased or send it back to Nokia. I sent it back and 12 days later I received a replacement phone. I hope this is not a pattern going forward.

That's because Nokia decided to ship this phone with Android Oreo (a version well over a year old and already obsolete since Pie had been released months before) and then push out an update to Android Pie within a month. Since Nokia only needs to commit to 2 major OS updates under the Android One program, that means the Nokia 7.1 will only receive one major OS update. Contrast this to Google's commitment to 3 years of major OS updates and the difference in value is clear to see. Also, the camera on this phone does not have optical image stabilization (OIS) so pictures can come out blurry. In short, if you're considering this phone, don't. Get the Pixel 3a instead.

Underwhelmed

Android 10 update is buggy and after just 8 months charging issues with the USB C connector. I am very easy on hardware, oh well, a cheap experiment.
