    Don’t buy a Nokia!!!

I’ve rarely been able to make a phone call with this phone. It can’t connect to the nearby tower. Apple phones always connect in the same location. Support was terrible. Repair would not talk with me to discuss the repair. Then they demanded over 100 dollars to fix the cracked screen just to look at the phone and analyze the reception problem. I paid 425 dollars at Best Buy to buy the phone. If there’s nothing wrong with the phone I’d have a new screen on a phone that can’t make or receive a call from my house. Don’t buy a Nokia!!

Charging port doesn't work very well

The phone works fine to begin with. However, not even after a full year's use, it starts to not hold charge very well. Recently, I've started encountering an issue where the charging port is loose, such that the cable has to be plugged in at exactly the right angle for it to charge the phone. This means you spend upwards of 10 minutes every day trying to just plug your phone in to charge. I thought I'd give Nokia another chance since I liked their non-smart phones back in the day, but after this experience, I'm not convinced they can do a good job anymore.

Worst phone I have ever had

I bought this phone on the advice on a friend. What a waste of $375! In about 6 months, the charge port started going - tried multiple cords, had to wiggle the cord just right or "prop" the cord in the exact right position. Even the cell phone repair place could not get parts except on ebay! Could have sent to Nokia, with a 3 WEEK turnaround. Really?? Will never, ever buy a Nokia again. Waste of money.

I tried two of these phones. The first phone I received, died permanently within a week. The execution of Android one is sloppy it appears choppy and lethargic. The glass on both sides is very slippery far more than other glass phones I have owned so you will need a case. It is also a dust and fingerprint magnet. The SIM card tray is far more difficult to remove then other phones. The touch sensitivity was below average. The worst phone I have ever owned hands down. I was lucky Best Buy allows 14 days for returns on cellphones.

    Great Value!

Not a flagship at this price, but it it's seriously impressive! Pros: Android One with regular updates and stock android (On November security patch running Android 9.0 Pie) Fantastic LCD display with excellent sunlight legibility, HDR10 compliant Premium build, smaller in size & lightweight 4gb RAM + speedy processor with no lag USB type-C, fast battery charge Good-to-great camera in good light (HDR could be better, and low light isn't stellar - just install google camera ;) EIS for video stabilization works well as does portrait/live bokeh mode Micro SD support, bluetooth 5.0 Supports 5G wifi; NFC on board voLTE Tap-to-wake Cons: No face unlock Notch, albeit smaller than many out there No LED notification light Battery is average which is to say not great; gets me through the day, but it's quite disappointing. I'd give a 4/5 but the 18w fast battery charger makes up for the battery life. Equivalent to QC 3.0. At this price though, I highly recommend! This is great value, and Nokia is back!

I have had this phone for 11 months and now it is very difficult to get it to charge. I did like it at first. Apparently this is a wide spread issue that is in several different forums. I guess you only get what you pay for.

Purchased this phone when it was on sale. What I like: The back fingerprint sensor, the color, the brand What I don't like: Can be sluggish sometimes, security patch bricked the phone (had to have it fixed), USB-C port is loose (bad design) causing issue with charging (200mA charge or less)

Nokia 7.1 - Great Unlocked GSM Phone and Price!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I received my Nokia 7.1 on the release date at the bundle price of $299.99 after buying it with a Cricket Wireless promotion from Best Buy. The Nokia 7.1 has very high build quality for the price. It looks great, and has a nice slim feel and good weight in the hand. The screen is nice and bright with great resolution, color saturation, and contrast. The fingerprint reader recognized my fingerprint immediately. Battery life is good so far with light use. The camera responds quickly, and pictures show good color, details, and contrast in shots with mixed sunny and shaded areas. Setting up a new account with Cricket Wireless online and porting my number from another carrier after activating the SIM kit and prepaid minutes card at Best Buy was fairly easy. Call quality using Cricket in Hawaii (Oahu) is excellent. If you travel internationally, having an unlocked GSM phone with 2 SIM cards installed at the same time and being able to call from either of them is a big advantage. No worries about needing to switch the SIM card and loosing it in your hotel room, or taking 2 phones on your trip. The Nokia 7.1 is a great great phone at a great price, I'm very happy I bought it.

    Awesome Phone!

First off the build quality of this phone is outstanding it feels and looks like a much more expensive phone. The screen is beautiful and gets very bright. Call quality is great I know a few other reviews said otherwise but not sure what network they are using but as far as AT&T the call quality if perfect. Speakers are very loud. The processor in this phone is very fast and not sluggish at all. I havent tested the camera much but from the few pictures I have taken they turned out great. Can't believe the price of this phone for what you get what a great deal. Wonderful job Nokia!

Phone feels and looks nice; however some issues

I bought this phone (Nokia 7.1) because it has a superior specification compared to Nokia 6.1. I was particularity in interested in the sensors such as "barometer" and "humidity" which are clearly mentioned in Bestbuy's Nokia 7.1 product details. However, such sensors do not exist for Nokia 7.1. Something wrong with Bestbuy's ad.! Pros: - Nice look - Feels good when holding - Android 1 / Oreo 8.1 - Good battery life (may be due to its new and not many apps installed) - Two sim card slots- Although it says one - 64 GB memory (Nokia 6.1 has 32 GB; may be this upgrade cost $120 more for Nokia 7.1) Cons: - No "barometer" and "humidity" sensors; not sure about "heart rate sensor" - Little pricey compare to other phones with same specs; Even Nokia 6.1 has almost similar specs. - USB C port; Due to "invention" of such new ports, the customers are highly confused! Now, I need to carry USB mini, C and lightning cables; Soon there will be USB D, E,.. X, Y , Z cables :) - No wireless charging - Camera - just okay - No shortcut for NFC; It would be better if the NFC option is located on the top screen so that we can drag down and select; I used such option for google pay - non removable battery

Snappy speed, new Android updates, good features all around and love the feel of the phone in my hand. Works quite good on T-Mobile, I did have to get the Sim manually activated , and I also had to manually enter the APN setting for mmsc(MMS) messages. I kind of expected that for an international based phone. Only thing I really wish is it had band 71 on T-Mobile.
