The battery will not hold a charge at all, no matter how long it sits on the base. It’ll run for as long as you need it to, but the second the power button is pressed it’s suddenly dead and won’t turn back on. This model also has an adjustable guard attachment included. It’s snaps securely over the blade and the length of cut is selected by a rotating dial. I’ve found I prefer the individual guards on the basic version over this one, however. Setting the guard to the same length as the basic snap-on guards is risky business. My faith was shaken when a quick zip up my eyebrow resulted in more skin than a gentleman usually prefers in that area. Lesson learned, for real. Almost feel like it is a refurbished unit or something. I’ve purchased both the basic and deluxe models in the past and never had an issue. Other than having them stolen…because it really is that good of a trimmer when it’s working the way it should!
