Customers are saying

Customers highly value the GeForce RTX 4090's exceptional performance and impressive cooling capabilities, frequently citing high frame rates and quiet operation. However, the high price point and large size are common criticisms. While some users report minor coil whine, many praise the card's design and ability to run games at high resolutions. Concerns exist regarding the power connector's reliability and the card's significant weight.

Great GPU for 4K 120+FPS overkill for 1440P titles

The card is huge compared to the 3090 that I upgraded from so double check your PCIe slot spacing and case dimensions. The cooler does a good job (and it should for the size of this thing) at keeping the card cool under load. As far as performance goes, the card scores great in synthetic benchmarks - nearly double a good 3090. At 4K, with no DLSS in MW2, it can reach 180+ FPS and average in the 150-160 range easily at max settings with a good CPU. That being said, if you're playing at 1440p, the 4090 is overkill. FPS increase in MW2 is about 60-70FPS over a 3090 w/o DLSS. Price to performance, the price is right for what the GPU does. That being said, if you're not going to be playing at 4K or you're playing very demanding titles (MS FlightSimulator or Cyberpunk), it's hard to justify the upgrade. Would have been an easier decision if they'd have bundled MW2 @ $70 with the card to help offset the cost.

Great a bit pricey! I have been buying video cards for many years. Since late 90's prices have come to almost unbearable levels.... Other than that this card performed better than my 3080ti and temps are under control as well. I was hitting 80ish c on the memory. Better designed compared to last Gen. Great performance for this card.

Extremely quiet, runs cool, and very powerful. This card is akin to buying a really good quality headphones. It is like a gift and a curse - it exposes all the flaws in mixing, production of your favorite tracks and helps you hear detail you could never before. Similarly, in gaming this card exposes games that are not well optimized. *cough* Helldivers 2, any game running at less than 70% GPU Usage is on the developer and not the card. I recommend this card if you are gaming at 4K, 2K @ higher refresh rates than 100 or ultrwide or multi-monitor setups. Overall my rating is A-, I took some points off for the price and availability. Right now the card is available on NVIDIA website its hard to find on BB, it was a complete stroke of luck I found it.

Amazing, but may not be for everyone. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have secured one from what seems to be the last restock on Best Buy in 2023. With a 10% coupon + a 10% rewards bonus and a complimentary copy of Alan Wake 2, this graphics card exceeds expectations. But beyond the bundled perks, it stands out as an exceptional piece of hardware. Given its price point, it's undeniably the most powerful GPU on the market today, and the Founders Edition version is my personal favorite. From the premium packaging to the unique design with fans on both the top and bottom of the card, it exudes quality. What pleasantly surprised me is how quiet and cool it runs despite its immense power. The performance is, without a doubt, top-notch, and in terms of both aesthetics and industry-leading capability, it's a solid 5 out of 5. Now, let's delve into some lesser-known facts. Firstly, there are two LED RGB zones – one being the 'GEFORCE RTX' logo on the side that glows in white, and the other is a 'V' shaped light on the top and bottom of the card. Both sides constitute a single RGB zone, controllable with third-party software like Open RGB. It's a bit peculiar that Nvidia doesn't offer its software for controlling these lights. Secondly, to fully leverage the GPU's potential, pairing it with the right CPU and likely a 4K monitor is crucial. Bottlenecking is a well-known concept, and having components that can't keep up might not only hinder performance but also introduce stuttering in some games. Despite using a 12700K with a 1440p monitor, I occasionally had to tweak settings for a smoother experience. However, the upside is that the 4090 is future-proof and will likely remain relevant for several CPU and GPU generations. Lastly, there have been concerns about power connector melting issues. Nvidia has quietly addressed this by updating the power connector, and reports of melting on FE cards with the new connector are scarce, if any. Cards manufactured in the last six months or so are likely to have the updated connector, ensuring a safer experience. My advice is to avoid random power cables from sources like Amazon and opt for reputable brands or use the provided adapter. Considering the state of the GPU market, the 4090 shines as a standout among the current offerings. While new SUPER level cards are on the horizon, the 4090 remains a solid recommendation if it's in stock. For those willing to wait, the refreshed Nvidia cards in the coming months might offer more options. As for the competition, my loyalty remains with Team Green, as I've had consistently positive experiences with Nvidia cards (and not so much with Radeon offerings). The bottom line, is don't get this card just because "it's the best". If you don't have the hardware that can keep up with it, you will end up wasting money and possibly getting some headaches in return. Don't forget the PSU requirement of 850W, which is what I use with no issues. If you have a computer that can match it closely enough and may be planning on upgrading in the next couple of years, the 4090 is a solid choice. For 4K, it's the obvious choice. For 1440p, it's a great choice with some level of future-proofing (even though I know people hate this term). It's a cool product all around.

I've been waiting for the RTX 4090 for a while , and I'm happy to say it was worth the wait. This card is a beast, and it blows away any other GPU on the market right now. It can handle any game at 4K with max settings and ray tracing, and still deliver smooth and stable frame rates. The performance improvement over the previous generation is staggering, and the efficiency is impressive as well. The card runs cool and quiet, thanks to the improved cooling design and the massive heatsink. The RTX 4090 is not cheap, but it's worth every penny if you want the best of the best. It's the ultimate gaming and creation GPU, and it will future-proof your PC for years to come. If you can get your hands on one, don't hesitate. You won't regret it. The RTX 4090 is a best of a GPU.

Incredible GPU, upgraded recently from an RTX 3060 and wow what a difference. Gaming with 150+ FPS at 4K is effortless. And work is so smooth on this card and I'm only running it a 75% power. And I was able to purchase with my Best Buy Visa Credit Card and got 10% back in points! Thanks Best Buy

Benchmarked as expected with 3Dmark. Supposedly the Founder's Edition is quite good this generation. My monitor is limited to 60hz, so this thing is just glorious overkill. Upgraded from 1080ti. In Star Citizen, I went from running at 1080p frame cap to running at 4K frame cap. Path-traced rendering in Twinmotion improved a little -- I suspect it is fairly CPU-intensive. Satisfactory Experimental is running on Unreal Engine 5, and that runs at 60 FPS 4K. Card has normal noise levels I guess (my case is sound-dampened). It's really overkill for anything out there at the moment, but it will let you crank the resolution and refresh rates.

The smallest aircooled variant. The 4090 FE is also the most professional looking and despite having less fans than non FE versions, it still cools very well. Got this card to be able to play VR and non VR at 4K resolutions. It is overkill if you don't do 4K gaming. It is overpriced for the value but I needed the power so I went for it. Most people dont' need this and there are better value to be found elsewhere.

What more can I say about this GPU that hasn’t been said. I had a 4090 Asus OC TUF model I received around the same time as this founders edition but I decided to keep the founders. It’s smaller and fit my case better leaving much needed room for other items. Performance wise it’s only a slight variation between the different 4090 models. Whichever one you get you probably won’t need another card for a long time. More than enough power to handle any game at a respectable fps even at 4K. The con here is obviously the price. These are overpriced. I held off for a while thinking they would reduce the price but alas they never did and I couldn’t wait any longer. The other con of course is availability. I was extremely lucky to get one.

Great card, best value/performance for the 4000 generation of NVIDIA cards even if the price tag is high. Pros: - Amazing performance. Effortlessly plays modern games at the highest settings and currently (July 2023) the best consumer card for single GPU ML Cons: - Expensive - Massive power draw with 450W at max means you probably have to upgrade your PSU - Huge. FE is smaller than most other 4090s but still difficult to fit comfortably in many PC cases

I recently upgraded to the RTX 4090, and it's been nothing short of a revelation for my setup. From the moment I installed it, the performance leap was evident. The RTX 4090 is a powerhouse, handling the most demanding games and graphic-intensive applications with unbelievable ease. The ray tracing capabilities are out of this world, bringing unparalleled realism to my gaming and design projects. What's more, the AI-driven features like DLSS have significantly boosted my frame rates without compromising on visual fidelity.Cooling efficiency is another area where the RTX 4090 shines. Despite pushing it with 4K gaming and heavy rendering tasks, the card stays remarkably cool and quiet. The build quality is top-notch, reassuring me that this beast of a card is built to last. For anyone on the fence about upgrading, the RTX 4090 is a game-changer. It's an investment that pays off by delivering cutting-edge performance and future-proofing your rig. Whether you're a gamer, a content creator, or a professional in the graphics field, this card is a dream come true. It's transformed my workflow and gaming experience, exceeding my expectations in every way. Highly recommend!

As a die-hard PC gaming enthusiast, I took the plunge and invested in the RTX 4090. Let me tell you, this beast is an absolute game-changer! From the moment I fired up my rig with this card, I was blown away by its raw power. 4K gaming? It's a breeze now. I'm hitting 100+ FPS in demanding titles with all settings maxed out. Ray tracing, which used to tank my old GPU, now runs butter-smooth. The 24GB VRAM is overkill for most games, but it's perfect for my 3D rendering work. Sure, it's pricey and power-hungry, but the performance leap is worth every penny. My only gripe? It barely fits in my case! But hey, that's a small price to pay for this level of performance. If you're on the fence, just do it. The RTX 4090 is the real deal, and it'll keep your rig future-proof for years to come.

What can I say other than this is the best video card consumers can buy right now. I can run every single AAA game old and new on Ultra settings, it runs surprisingly cool, and it's pretty darn quiet even under load. Has a cool led light that displays it's name on the side. Just make sure you get the correct power supply, it does come with a proper adapter to plug into your power supply.

I've only owned this for a day. I'm trading in my Zotac 4090 for this and so far I am very impressed. Although the performance of both cards is pretty equal, the Nvidia FE is hugely better in terms of power consumption and thermals while idle. Even though I'm using a big LG C1 OLED in 4k 120Hz, this card only sips about 15-20W, and barely gets warm, while my Zotac would pull upwards of 45W and felt like a heater. While this may not be a big deal for some people, it bothered me as the fans on the Zotac would kick in every few minutes even though the computer was just idle. Also, there is no need to heat up your room just because you're browsing the web. In game, the fans on this FE do kick in but in a much smoother, quieter way. Game smoothness is incredible. Clocks are slightly lower than my Zotac 4090 but I doubt this will have a measurable impact on fps. The lack of a huge cooler or custom RGB is really not a downside- in fact it just makes things simpler and easier. I do wish there was a way to turn off the RGB on this one without custom software. The card is very heavy and metallic but the weight is nicely distributed- which means that it doesn't really need a support bracket at all. The packaging is unique but weird- a very heavy box which opens at a 45 degree cross section. It is uncessarily bulky and the card does not come with any sort of protective ESD foil etc.

Just buy the FE, don't waste money on other more expensive versions. I was worried after reading the reviews, that this will have coil whine. mine has no coil whine. The GPU is excellent! It performs exceptionally well and runs games at high FPS without even remotely overheating. Also, much smaller than the other 4090 cards.

For the first time there's actually something worth upgrading from a 1080 Ti that has been waterblocked and overclocked to heck and back. After getting this all waterblocked up, it runs at a cool 40° C and pairs beautifully with a 7950x. I can't put the side panel on my case with the cables sticking so far out, so it doesn't look the greatest, but it is a beast for performance. Would recommend if you hate your money and want to upgrade.

Just got the 4090 FE. Love the minimalist design and will fit in smaller cases if the urge ever strikes. I've had FE cards and PNY and Gigabye 40-series cards and have no complaints about any of them. Very happy to snag one of these. No noticable difference in temps or performance between any of them.
