Customers are saying

Customers highly value the GeForce RTX 4090's exceptional performance and impressive cooling capabilities, frequently citing high frame rates and quiet operation. However, the high price point and large size are common criticisms. While some users report minor coil whine, many praise the card's design and ability to run games at high resolutions. Concerns exist regarding the power connector's reliability and the card's significant weight.

Good card, the 4090 is definitely the best on the market right now. The only reasons keeping it from 5 star is nitpicky things. 1) The fans. They do go to 0 rpm for silent operation at desktop however the slowest speed it'll spin is 1100rpm (30%). This is very audible. Even 300rpm less would result in a still near silent operation but not allow temps to slowly creep up. 2) the 12v High Power connector is really picky and improper connection could cause the card connector to melt. 3) The price. Seriously even being top of the line it's still way too expensive.

Value: The price is good for the performance considering the market the way it is right now. Performance: I would average 80-90 FPS on Cyberpunk in 4k with RT Overdrive and DLSS 3.0. Temps were very good, I haven't seen the card go over 60 degrees for more than a few seconds on any of the current AAA games. Looks: I like the minimalistic look of all the FE cards ever since the 3000 series. Build quality: Very good build quality, zero sag, they really reinforced the card very well here. Sound: Unfortunately this is where this card failed it for me and caused me to return it eventually. I had nasty coil whine in my build. The sound is hard to describe, but it IS very unpleasant and at least in my rig the pitch and tone would change based on the load on the GPU at the time. You could especially hear it on starting up games before the fans rev'd up. Take this into consideration though, coil whine is very dependent on many things such as your motherboard, PSU combo as well as the quality of power out the wall. I have a ROG Crosshair VIII Dark hero and ASUS Gold 1000W ATX 3.0, if that helps. To be fair, most people wear headphones while gaming or you could drown it out by playing with fan curves. Had the same issue with ROG Strix version. Ended up with the AORUS RTX Master version which has minimal coil whine. Conclusion: If you don't have issues with coil whine or care that much about it, I still think this is the very best value of all the 4090s and the best looking.

I have a 4090 with a I9 12th Gen CPU this combination is CRZY!!!! I am playing off a Samsung - Odyssey G7 28" IPS 1ms 4K monitor. I am going to give you my FPS in games that I have been playing since all of the other reviews are just talking about the card and not giving any feedback on there FPS. All games I am going to mention the settings is only 4K in ultra setting with Raytracing max out because why get this card and not play max 4K haha I played MW2 4K Ultra Graphics I get anywhere from 160 to as high as 200+ FPS in Ultra 4K settings!!! I played Cyber Punk 2077 I'm getting 132 FPS with Ultra 4K settings with Ultra Raytracing and everything on. Black ops 3 zombies 4K ultra 220+ FPS the game looks crazy good!! Spyro I am getting 300+ FPS that is pretty much overkill. Vanguard I am getting over 200+ FPS which is great for that game. Far Cry 6 I am not sure about the FPS but the game LOOKS AMAZING!! IN ULTRA 4K SETTING!!! The GPU temp I see as low as 35 degrees at the main menu and as high as 55 degrees in middle of game play. No screen tearing at all which is great. If you ever wanted to play 4K in high FPS now you can with this card!!!!

Value-wise the 4080 is superior, allows you to game in 4K pretty well, while the 4070 is the best bang for your buck. But if you’re looking into getting the 4090 you’re willing to pay the salty price tag for those extra FPSs, and this delivers. I personally prefer the aesthetic of the founders edition, letting go of any potential gains from other manufacturers and their tweaks. I’m happy. And when the next gen comes around, I’ll happily wait for the opportunity to get another FE from best buy while using this pretty thing.

In 14 years of building, this is the biggest jump I've ever had. I came from a 3080, and this card is cooler, quieter, smaller, and exponentially more powerful, all at the same time.

Great performance improvement and power saving compared to RTX 3090, beautiful FE design, can OC to 600W but really not necessary since it is made with TSMC 5nm instead of Samsung 8nm.

This GPU is pricey but it's the best you can buy for PC gaming, runs high fps in 4k and beyond. The founders edition runs cool also. Another issue is it's HUGE and uses ~400W so make sure you have a good PSU and a large case to fit.

This GPU is exceptional for power-intensive tasks. If you appreciate 4K high FPS gaming performance and content creation, then this card is ideal for your needs. Although the new connector is a welcome addition, its sensitive to bending. I encountered difficulty installing my side panel and ultimately had to invest in a custom 90-degree GPU cable. Without this cable, I couldn't secure the side panel, and the pressure from the bend hindered the card from powering on.

It's the flagship video card from NVIDIA (as of 2023). Pros: with a decent PC rig, this card can handle just about anything you've got in today's market (as far as games). This card is currently the best card as far as performance. If you're willing to forgo having the best card, then the 7900 XTX (with a savings of almost $600 less!) is a worthy competitor to the 4090. Cons: Price, price, price. Holy smokes, $1600+ for top of the line GPU processing power. If the 5000 series is leaps and bounds evolutionary as they are hyping it up to be (Q4 2024 release date is possible), then you may want to hold onto your cash and wait it out.

Definitely not cheap, but you want the best video card on the market when cost isn’t a concern, this it is. The ultimate in performance with ray tracing and dlss 3.5 enabled. This will handle any game out currently and it’s fantastic for production as well. Extremely well built and super sleek minus the included power adapter. Do your measurements because this is a large card that won’t fit in more compact cases. Also make sure you have an adequate power supply as well (850 watt min. as a recommendation). If you dabble AI training, you would benefit by having this card.

What an absolute monster. This gpu destroys nearly everything I throw it at, be it gaming, Blender, or AI art generation. It would probably physically destroy things too, it’s built like a brick. I’m using an LG C2, and can more or less max everything out. There are only a few issues I have with it. One, it only comes with DP 1.4 which is somewhat disappointing for a $1,600+ gpu. Two, it’s sometimes a little hard to tell whether or not the 12vhpwr connector is fully seated. It takes a considerable amount of force to push it in and the click isn’t super audible, so you may have to eyeball it. Other than that, if you want the best of the best, this is the way to go.

The time came to finally purchase a NVIDIA GPU and all things considered, the price was very good at Best Buy. The previous 3090s were ridiculously overpriced by the scalpers so I did without for a long time and am glad I waited. This 4090 has been nothing less than exceptional, and though I am not a gamer, I nonetheless wanted the capability of high-level graphics in case I might occasionally dab into a game or two. It is heavier than I thought it would be, and I thought it best to use a support shaft to hold it up in my case. Satisfied thus far.

The fastest graphics card on the market. You probably don't need it tho, unless you're doing 4K ultra 360hz no-scope gaming or some AI shenanigans. If you do get it, consider setting the power limit to 50-65% for the best performance per watt on the market. Quiet, cool, and FAST. And no melting cables
