I was trying to find a financially reasonable solution to run a plex media server. I've tried a number of various devices that failed miserably. The NVIDIA Shield TV delivered what I needed. I can attach two external drives (one to hold video files, the other to hold hi-rez audio) and serve up both to any computer, AppleTV, or my LG OLED screen. What really surprised me was the quality of the video playback. I rip all of my purchased blu-ray to a bit-to-bit MKV file and they look identical in quality to the actual disc. Can't say the same for the playback on AppleTV, which has a slight degradation in the quality. The Shield delivers crystal clear playback including 4K HDR content. My only complaint is that I cannot get it to play hi-rez 5.1 audio files. This is frustrating as it still means I have to use another device to listen to the audio in the proper format. (The AppleTV does play 5.1.) But this is a minor annoyance as I don't have enough content to be an every day occurrence. Highly recommend if you are looking for that solution.

Incredible. Having been in the Fire Stick infrastructure, this thing is a massive upgrade. Speed is blistering. Kodi is fast. Apps open with no lag. Will be buying a second one.

This is the top of the line streaming device. Much better then the Firestick and any other streaming device. Spend the extra money and purchase this item

I have tried and returned all of the less expensive options (roku, fire, etc). The Shield is far and away the best. Very responsive interface and ton of app options.

This is the best android tv experience you can get. It’s the most powerful and always works. Don’t waist your time and money on the cheaper android tv boxes get this one!

Bought this for my parents so that they can play their home movie collection off of a NAS drive! Now they have an all in one device which can stream anything!

I’ve had them all.. and by far this is my favorite... I didn’t get the gaming remote because I have a PS4 but, now that I see the games on the shield, I jus may get one

There's no better way for you Android users to stream your stuff. Actually can be just as useful for iPhone users, especially if they enjoy the Kodi platform.

Love this! I also have a fire tv but this is a better product. I recommend going onto youtube to see all the things it can do, the instructions are a bit limited.

Had the Amazon FireTV but have been looking to purchase this for awhile. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and have not used my firetv since I purchase it.

Almost zero buffering. Smooth transition from one application to another. A bit pricey, but in this case it is worth it. Had it for a year and it's running like new.

Streams 4k with no stutter, let's me stream games from my PC, can even host Plex server. This device is so powerful and versatile, I'm getting one for each of my TVs.

Nvidia Shield is by far the best media streaming device on the market. I'm not an Apple fan so Apple TV isn't an option. The only thing this is missing is Dolby Vision support.

Excellent product which does exactly what it advertises. The large amount of RAM makes the interface seamless and the HD leaves tons of room for apps and more.

While there are cheaper streaming box options, if you intend on streaming your PC to a television, this is the best you're going to get. I'd recommend using a wired connection if at all possible for the best results. I also love that it includes Android TV as it allows for so many applications and works well with my phone as I'm an Android user. The included remote doesn't have a great range but the Shield is compatible with other remotes so overall it's not an issue for me personally but worth noting.

Worth every dime at any price if you use it. This is the third one that I have purchased. The first one was a gift, the second and third are living in my house.

This is the best streaming device! Very powerful! I don’t game on it because I have a gaming pc and consoles. Will steam 4K!
