HANDS DOWN BEST STREAMING DEVICE ON THE MARKET
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nvidia has been making the most powerfull Android streaming device since 2015 and its still Top Dog for the formidable future. If you know what your doing you can make this device do wonderfull things .It comes stock with your standard apps like netfix ,hulu and other run of the mill apps .It also comes loaded with a modified google Playstore with limited apps. But if you know what your doing by doing a little research like youtubing nvidia shield tv youll find out this device is capable of so so much.#1 sideloading apps not available in the limited playstore. This device does not include a web browser like google or chrome but by sideloading your options are limitless.#2 iptv allows you to basically have a cablebox at your fingertips.#3 Cloud gaming .Nvidia has been known for there High End Gaming Graffix Cards for computers and with the Shield you can play endless amount of new games or install emulators and play litterally thousands of old school games.I could go on and on about this device but then half the fun is learning for yourself. Before you purchase or after do some research on youtube there are tons of really good videos on ther to show you the way.Hope this heps someone goodluck.By the way i own 3 of these .And have been using since 2015.

Best Android Streaming Box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast, speedy, responsive, and great support. It is frequently updated with the latest android TV software/firmware. You can even get a TV tuner and external hard drive to turn this into a OTA DVR! If the only thing you want to do is stream/watch video from the main services (netflix, amazon, hulu, youtube, etc), then this is probably overkill. But if you're willing to do a little research and play around with all functionality the Shield has to offer, it is the best combined streaming/media/gaming box out there.

The best Android TV STB, but with some limitations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have avidly been a supporter of Google's attempts to take over the living room. i was one of the first to but into Google TV with my Sony NSZ-GT1, and it was good for what it was in 2011. When Android TV came onto the market I was thrilled and quickly bought a Nexus Player. Then earlier this year I bought a 4k HDR panel and decided to upgrade my STB as well. The Nvidia Shield TV is a fantastic machine for what it is capable of, not only do i have access to all the media apps I could ever wish for, I can also connect a NAS and emulate any game made before 2006. The UI is the usual ATV experience but with a bit more speed thanks to the K1. And the inclusion of HDR10 and Dolby Atmos support made this a machine that I use almost 95% of the time my panel is active. The issue I have with the player is that it is run on ATV a service that is treated as second class when compared to Roku, Amazon Fire, and Apple TV. Becasue of low market saturation it has never gotten consistent updates from third party apps (the Hulu app still uses the old UI, even the Switch runs the new UI). But I can not fault lacking third party support for a great streamer. This is the best STB money can buy and it is capable of almost anything that can be thrown it's way!

Can’t go wrong with the Nvidia Shield TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Way faster than Amazon Fire TVs. The only Android box that can handle 1gig speeds. You won’t be disappointed. Would have liked it to have kept the micro SD slot from 2015, but thumb drives work. Kodi app works great ;-)

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the voice control and the ability other play PC games on the TV. 4k streaming is also great. Plenty of option to add apps from the play store. Could use more storage, I just added a flash drive. Works great.

Best Android Streaming box out there
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've gradually upgraded my streaming "boxes" from the Amazon Fire Stick to the Fire TV to now this. If you've cut the cord (i.e. canceled cable) you need a streaming option for your TV. Whether it be a PC or dedicated unit like the nVidia Shield, you only need internet and subscription service of choice (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) The Shield is very fast and is a full Android OS. If you're used to the fire stick or other Amazon streaming devices, they are an android platform, but has some Android functionality removed to make the the whole package more affordable to the masses. NVidia did not do that. You get a 4k capable, geforce experience ready, game streaming device. If you're looking for the best, all in one streaming device, this is the best bang for the buck. The next step up would be a mini-PC that has more overhead, maintenance and setup involved. Now you're probably wondering why the 4-stars if this is so great. In my experience with this, I have noticed a reoccurring issue with my particular 4k LG TV. If I happen to turn on the shield before I turn on the TV, I get an error when playing some videos. Has something to do with the HDMI "handshake" that happens between the device and the TV. Turning on the TV BEFORE the Shield, no error. If the error does happen, I have to turn the TV off then on again, and the error goes away. I wish I could only take half a star away but alas, no can do on BB's reviews. Hope this was helpful!

Q: QuestionI see Best Buy is including a free month of "TikiLive." I thought TikiLive was a pirate service, only advertised on Facebook and places like that. Kind of surprised to see a big company like Best Buy promoting it. Is TikiLive actually a legit service?
Asked by Bob.
- A:Answer tiki is expensive compared to many iptv service. Just search iptv on facebook and there are hundreds of live tv providers for as low as 5 bucks a month and they work great. All sports, movies,XXX,live TV,news,24/7,PPV everything included for 20 bucks a month or less.

Q: QuestionWill this play MP4 formatted video files? Either from internal storage or preferably from a USB connected Passport drive?
Asked by Bill.
- A:Answer The box is pretty versatile. It supports all of the following: ASF, AVI, MOV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, VC-1, VP8, VP9, WEBM, WMV9, XviD, DivX, H.263, H.264, H.265, HEVC, M-JPEG, M2TS, MKV I have not connected an external drive to play a video but given the supported formats I would be shocked if it wouldn't play them.
