Great player but I got it just before the Pro version came out. I would have liked to get the Pro to have the up scaling feature. Other than that it works great.

It does what I need it to do, but I do wish it was less expensive.

I returned Apple TV 4K for this bad boy. I should have known from the start. I already own one in my bedroom and went and purchased another for living room. So many options for customization.

Bought for two purposes, first being a compact Geforce now machine and lastly a chromecast 4k enabled device. Worked great for both and love being able to use bluetooth headset and xbox controller.

I’ve had an Apple TV before but figured I would try this one. It’s been a lot of fun so far figuring out all the ins and outs. One of my tech friends is helping me to learn all the fun things it can do as well.

If you have the room and a network cable instead of WiFi them buy it. I have mine hardwired with Cat6 connected to my 1gig service. No more buffering when streaming and kids are on wifi devices.

Let me start by saying I really enjoyed the box while it lasted. I bought the 2015 model back in May of 2016. Yes it is out of the 1 year warranty.... however, I expected a box of this name and price to last more than 1.5 years. After many attempts to do every hard reset trick there is, I contacted Nvidia customer support and was told they would look into it and would get back with me in a few days. I sent them pictures of the box, model and receipt. I have called back in the last few weeks to check on an answer and finally got the "Sorry, you're out of your year warrant reason". I wasn't expecting to get a brand new 2017 model or even a free box period. Buy I thought they would at least work with me.... maybe even get me a discounted model..... something. So this will be a lesson for me. Some companies go above and beyond to keep customers happy, and some do the bare minimum. Luckily I still have a 3 year old ROKU that works like the day I bought it. I will be more careful how I spend my money in the future.

I have been using this for almost 1.5years now and love it. its great plays almost anything. I connect my hard drive and play sometimes and works fine. i use netflix, plex and all works great.

Very easy Smart "hub" anyone giving bad reviews....its probably user error. This is fully supported by constant updates keeping this unit running smoothly. look no further.

Our fire stick really couldn’t keep up with how much we wanted to stream. It would keep crashing. The shield tv is a very smooth platform. Basically a mini android pc on our tv. Very customizable.

Very user friendly for some who hates complicated stuff.

I own 4 of these now. These are simply the most powerful android boxes you can buy. Some streaming services give you higher resolution due this this being an official android TV box

I picked this device up after having buffering issues with my Firestick 4K. After getting through the learning curve of loading APK's to this device I could see how much faster this device was in comparison to my Firestick, but every once in a while it would run slow. I downloaded an app from the Play store to perform WiFi speed tests on it and sometimes I would get the 100+ Mbps provided by Spectrum, and other times it would be picking up 20-30 Mbps and buffering. I checked the speed my Samsung phone was picking up and it was consistently 100+ Mbps when The Shield was at 20-30. After a reboot I was back up over 100 again. I contacted Nvidia customer support and they walked me through a bunch of settings but it is still encountering this issue. They are no help. I chalk it up to a defective device or something with the latest update. I wish I could give this 5 stars, but with the WiFi issue I can't.

This is by far the best streaming box I've purchased and you can do alot more compared to Roku, mibox, tivo, and others out there. Fast snappy UI and works just like a chromecast

Finally a streaming device worth owning. Have tried all now except apple TV. Have been disappointed with all till now. Sad because it been around for years. Should have bought sooner

Get the version with the controller, without it's going to be a pain to do any real gaming. You can try pairing your own devices but that can be easy or hard depending on what you have. And if you have to spend money to make it compatible with your devices you might as well just buy the one that comes with it and works.
