Best thing if you don’t have cable, you can basically get any show or movie

I’m sure it’s a nice device but it was not what I was looking for.

Just like the title. I know , I know it’s a powerful tv / gaming box. But when I play with this on my tv, everthingvit’s bot That smoothie~~~sometimes it’s pretty slow. The design for android 8.0 just bad. Not very easy to use. I will go and get the Apple TV 4K . Just personal, I don’t like this shield tv.

This is amazing media player...setup is so easy and remote is amazing....

I use this to watch sling/netflix/Amazon prime. This box completes me.

Like just about everything about it. It does crash from time to time.

Love my SHIELD. It is Android on your TV but on steroids.

I bought this after watching a few Youtube videos, choose to make this was my 3rd go at an Android TV device and that's it for me! The remote is lacking, voice control is OK at best. You get a limited Google Play Store meaning that a lot of the good apps will have to be sideloaded with Yalp because of the lack available in the toned-down version on this device. Using shared home media over your network is a pain, I tried using to stream media from PC to the Shield TV the same way I do to my other android devices and kept running into weird issues. I would have just done better with a Chomecast and my droid tablet.

I wish Nvidia built the chromecast better. Update?

I use for streaming live tv. Android base is good.

This is supposed to be a top end streaming device at BestBuy. I tried Amazon Fire device first & returned it due to connectivity issues. Returned this one too. Went back to Comcast Xfinity cable with a solid connection.

Shield tv poor instructions the are to small to read an if you don’t know a lot about it. It not so easy to set up so I give it a 2 for to others

I bought this with the intention of running third party apps on it. Turns out that is a bit of a pain and didn't work nearly as good as I hoped. Sideloading on a fire stick worked better and way cheaper!

I recently purchased the Shield with the hope that it could replace my aging Roku. I also needed the ability to stream movies from my NAS so a possible win-win. Wow, was I wrong. My three-year-old Roku absolutely destroys the Shield in both speed and picture quality. My wife is a PBS fan and she never has time to watch her shows when they air so she relies on being able to use a PBS app. Since it one not available to put directly on the Shield I loaded it in Plex. After two days of trying to get PBS to open, I plugged the Roku back in. My wife was up and watching in less than 30 seconds. The Shield, with Plex, sat for over a minute with the crazy thing in the middle of the screen spinning, but never started the program. The picture quality on all of the apps, including Plex, are absolutely horrible compared to my Roku. The pictures are grainy and appear to lag and then jerk back to the proper spot. I am not sure how anyone can give this product five stars, unless the TV being used is from 1990 and they still have dial up. I am looking forward to returning my Shield this weekend. I will probably just upgrade to the latest and greatest Roku. It probably won't be perfect, but all I want is a good picture and speed that does not make me want to put my iron through the TV.

Nice hardware. I think the Roku is better. But the optional rechargeable remote is what makes this box worth it.

The reason for the 3 stars is because the google play store has limited apps for this product

We purchased this device to stop buffing and be able to have more storage. This was part of the selling points. But since we brought this thing home and set it up we have had nothing but problems. If I could find my receipt I would RUN back to the store and beg for my money back.
