This is quite possibly the best classic JRPG I've played. The environments are beautiful and the combat mechanics are deep and well thought out. The gameplay is engaging and never feels too grindy. The Switch is the perfect platform for this masterpiece as you can pop in and out regularly which helps with the all too familiar grind that plagues older JRPGs.

I love love love the SNES-era jrpgs (i.e Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, Secret of Mana) and this game is so similar to those 90’s masterpieces. I can’t stop thinking about it and usually have a hard time putting it down. It’s been a really long time since a game has done this to me, and I play A LOT of videogames (I owned a pretty respectable video-game review website)...

Game has a good story, graphic and visuals. The combat mechanics are unique

This is a fantastic and very addicting game. Perfect for the switch. For me, it is a cross between the older Final fantasy games and Heroes of Might and Magic. I was lucky enough to pick up a copy at Best Buy as it is on Back order at many other places. If you like the aforementinoed games, then you will love this. There is a free demo that gives you 3 hours of play. Try it!

Octopath Traveler takes the best of the old school JRPG’s and improves upon it in many fashions. The combat is incredible, the visuals beautiful, and the charm is unparalleled. Don’t go in expecting a deep story, but that’s just part of what makes it great. It’s a charming, fun adventure that doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. Highly recommend to everyone!

I haven't invested a huge amount of time into this yet and this game.e can take 100+ hours to do everything, but what I played so far is really promising. The visuals are what really sets this game apart as they are a true throw back to jrpgs of the super Nintendo era very reminiscent of final fantasy 6. If you like that type of rpg give this a try odds are you will dig it.

Honestly only about 10 hours in and haven't even unlocked all the main characters yet, but so far the game has been a great blend of the old style games I grew up on and some new mechanics. Combat is a blend of the persona system and turn based final fantasy. So if you like either of those combat systems, and are okay with a straight forward story, I'd say give it a go!

This game is a nice throwback to the golden age of sprite based rpgs. The combat system is fast paced and really good. The characters are decent with a few stand outs in the party and lots of dead weight. The game has very little load time and has a lot of play time to it. If you want an rpg from the super nintendo to early playstation era, this is a good one to buy.

The game has amazing graphics and an even better soundtrack. Gameplay can be pretty difficult, especially at the end. Still an excellent game if you're in for a challenge.

A fun, 16bit style jrpg for the Switch. Battle system is great to engage in. Story is decent and the characters are good. You can easily get 60+ hours of jrpg goodness

Evoking a classic style, mixed with modern effects and a modern engine. Octopath presents you with 8 separate stories of 8 different characters. Play them as you see fit. All the stories have been enjoyable. Even if they don't intersect.

Great story gameplay is awesome and the soundtrack is pretty amazing

I really enjoy playing Octopath Traveler. The story line is simple but the mix of fun gameplay and mixture of 8 and 16 bit graphics with other layered enhancements really add to the charm of this game and fill me with warm feeling of nostalgia from playing the SNES. Definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a solid Nintendo switch RPG.

Voice Acting sucks but everything else about this game is legit!

Combat is engaging, beautiful visuals and music. Would recommend.
