Takes me back to the SNES days of great JRPGs. The graphics are obviously better though. 8 different characters with unique abilities too. The first letter of their names spell OCTOPATH. It's nice to see Square Enix show some love for Nintendo.

This is my favorite game on the switch currently. Runs great on mobile and docked, is well-balanced for difficulty, and offers great classic RPG game-play akin to the SNES and PS1 eras. You MUST play this if you have a Switch.

This game is a love letter to all classic jrpg fans. It has all the charm of a classic final fantasy game. Interesting stories, characters, and events. Customizable party and tactics. 8 different characters to play as you see fit. A must buy.

If you enjoy RPGs, especially from the 16-bit generation, buy this game. Tons of nostalgia, and lots of neat things to do. Real time actions like stealing and information gathering add a neat twist to gameplay. I highly recommend this game.

I you like jrpg's or want to give them a chance then you will eant to get this game. Great visuals and gameplay. You can customize each character to be something totally differnt then their default layout so there replayability in this game.

I purchased it because the update provides variety of languages. When the game came, the English is so hard for me. But after the update, i could play with my native language. Also, the game is excellent. Worth it.

Game reminds me of Saga frontier back in ps1 days with a fresh new fighting system. Different characters to choose from all with a different story. If you like old school rpg games this will definitely bring you back to those younger years.

The visual style and combat systems are awesome, the characters are varied and interesting even if some are more than others. The storytelling could be better; the 8 characters having their own individual stories and they don't interact with each other during any of the events. Besides those issues, each story does have their compelling parts and the combat is deep enough that make the game worth playing.

I think this game stands out in how it looks like a game from the golden age of jrpgs, but nothing about it feels outdated. I’d watch some videos on it, but I’ve had a lot of fun so far about halfway through.

Overall a really fun game that starts off seemingly random characters with diverging stories that slowly pull you in to a central one. Felt a lot like playing games from the 90s when I was growing up.

Absolutely amazing game. Worth every penny in my opinion. This game feels like older final fantasy games from back in snes ps1 days. Lots of grinding and rewarding the same time and great story.

The game is so much fun to play! Theres a reason its sold out in Japan. You get to start as one character and you can either get the others or progress as there are eight different stories. It can accommodate many different play styles.

This definitely scratches the final fantasy itch, and I've enjoyed it for many hours. But it also returns to the shallow storytelling of early ff games, and just having 8 stories can't quite save the overall feeling of been-there, done-that in the plot. The combat system has some freshness, with the break system showing some real innovation. So play it for the nostalgia and enjoy the new improved combat.

Really unique art style. Challenging gameplay that harken back to the SNES era of JRPGs

This a really great game with solid mechanics, lovely music, great animation, and overall a fun experience. This is a very classic RPG, in that, there is turn based combat, sprite animation, typical classes, and an intriguing story.

This game captured my attention and didn't let it go for almost 80 hours. The music is in a class of it's own. The controls are responsive, and the combat system never gets old. This is pure RPG perfection in my eyes. Bravo!

This exclusive to the Switch is a great one. You follow eight different journies with eight different characters that interweave. It may get repetive towards the end but this game will last you a very long time so worth the money

I very much love the old 16bit video games from SNES so this game became a quick favorite. It almost feels like tilt photography and gives the old school feel an incredible amount of depth. Highly recommended!

I love this game so much. It does everything right. It is the classic RPG game I have wanted but didn't realize. Pick it up and give it a shot.
