Good Old School style Japanese RPG (SNES days) Octopath has fun gameplay and some beautiful artwork but stumbles a bit with a barely cohesive story. It's mostly about the gameplay that will keep players playing if they are fans of turn based style fighting.

This is a JRPG in the older Final Fantasy vein. There are some unique niches here that aren't usually in those games, but overall, there's quite a bit of quality in the story and mechanics for fans of games like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.

I love RPG formats. This game is just like Final Fantasy. I also like that there's different storylines.

Really liked it just wish I'd had known you have to level up all the characters for the final boss.

I was growing up with NES and SNES. This Octopath Traveler bring back memories which I feel like I am playing FF2 and FF3 again.

The game is incredible. JRPG with 2D sprites set in a 3D world, love the art direction and the storylines, tons of hours of gameplay

I haven’t loved an RPG since Final Fantasy 2 on the SNES. Retro graphics with a modern spin and characters that always make you smile.

I have been waiting for discount on this game and finally I got it. It's a great game that I can't stop playing it.

Square Enix has teased us about this game for the longest time and it’s finally been released. It does not disappoint! There is a new spin on storytelling and general JRPG mechanics. One playthrough will connects all 8 stories and every character has a different ability that will help you throughout the game. The visual style is refreshing while still being nostalgic. The artwork is absolutely stunning for this game. This game made me excited to play a JRPG again, and not many games are able to accomplish that.

I love playing this in my off time at work. It’s a turn based strategy game with satisfying combat and a variety of characters.

The graphics may be old style but the storyline and interface between the 8 characters is a masterpiece. Highly recommend.

This game harkens back to the 90s JRPGS like final fantasy 6 but with a modern flourish. It’s a tremendous piece of art. A true gem.

It's a shame this isn't more widely talked about. I thoroughly enjoy the story that doesn't pull any punches.
