Octopath Traveler has many classic staples of the genre, but also adds in its own flavor.

The game starts out good, but at about 20 hours in, I have the feeling that there's nothing more to offer other than just grinding to level up my characters and getting through the game. The main characters have no real interaction with each other, each one has their own story and it doesn't matter which order you obtain the characters in. If you like repetitive grinding, you'll probably like this game, if you like an engaging story however, this game may not be for you.

So many different stories to enjoy in this one JRPG. Worth buying even when its not on sale.

Octopath traveler is not the system selling exclusive the internet hypes. Good, but not great story and inventory/system menu. Not a Final Fantasy Tactics or Shining Force III but still worth your time.

This game is well worth the purchase. It brings a fresh view on JRPG's and has gotten amazing reviews.

If you like older style 8-bit RPGs with a touch of new age nuance then this will be the game for you!

Excellent gameplay that old-school rpg fans would love. The game has some really tough bosses and quests. Has a lot of customization once you unlock sub classes and secret classes.

A pretty good to cure my need for RPG's currently. One of the reasons why I actually decided to purchase a Switch to be frank. The music is also extremely good. I do wish it had fmv cutscenes of some sorts though.

Lots of good characters with a phenomenal story. Each character has rich character with many choices.

This game reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy VI. The music, visuals, and gameplay are all really good.

Fantastic RPG for the Switch, the HD-2D style is amazing!

If it loved the 16 bit final fantasy games, you'll love this game. The art style is incredible.

The game play is turn based with multiple party members. Battles can last a while since enemies have armor that has to be broken down in order to do more damage. There's a lot of combinations with the classes unique traits you can pull off. The graphics are retro. Looks amazing with an updated look. The story is the weakest part. 8 different stories that don't really connect and no real interaction with each other. If your a hardcore jrpg fan, this is for you. Otherwise borrow it from a friend to see if you like it (I think there's a demo as well). For me this game wasn't worth it

This game took a lot of me and it was a great time so many long hours went into this game!

I would recommend this to anyone that loves a Square game. Or Turn-Based for that matter. I wasn’t hesitant at all on buying this game. Plus for living in NYC and commuting everywhere, this game is actually perfect. However I find it rather easy. The beginning is a little difficult, especially the first boss you will have to fight. But after that, I’m able to defeat each boss the first try. Which is fine, honestly. But I wish it had me coming back more. Sometimes I put it down and don’t pick it up for a week. Good game, good story, voice acting (for some characters), overall recommend if you’re into this style of game. If you aren’t into the first 1-10 final fantasy style type games, I don’t know if you would like this.
