only thing I really enjoyed about this game is the battling, the story was horrible, I didn’t care what was going on I just wanted to fight

Bad Graphics, check Slow story, check bugs upon bugs, check Overall just a bad game.

I was really unsure about buying this game. I really didn't know if it was just over hyped from the reviews or it was actually going to be a game I would enjoy. I have only played a couple RPGs in my lifetime, and that would be a harry potter game and Pokemon red. Games like Super Smash bros and Super Mario games always captured my interest more. So when I heard it is a must for RPG fans but maybe, maybe not for others, I was really conflicted. BUT I am so glad I decided to buy this game!! The turn based combat is fun, classic look mixed with 3D and beautiful effects on top of that is beautiful, and the music is epic! I am used to random battles and the grinding is nothing like getting through Pokemon Red (the last RPG I played) so I have no problem with that. I actually find the battles fun, and there are enough breaks with story to keep it from getting old. I hope Square Enix will make another game like this.

I seldomly played RPGs growing up, but Octopath Traveler made me a recent convert! I enjoy following each of the eight different characters and how their stories develop over time. The graphics are beautiful, the soundtrack is top-notch and the voice acting is very believable. There are also many side quests to complete, in addition to the eight character stories. I have already put 40 hours into this game and I am nowhere near maximizing what Octopath Traveler has to offer. Try it out!

I'm about 35 hrs into Octopath Traveler now and I can honestly say that I am both surprised and happy that this game is as good as it is. The story is a little slow, but the combat system might be the bast of any turn based RPG ever. Are both nostalgic and modern. It's a really good look for this type of game. I just wish the character sprites were a little bit bigger. This is definitely my favorite RPG on the Nintendo Switch right now.

This game has the best spell in the entire history of RPG's. it turns every battle into a game of Russian Roulette where you will either die horribly or reap incredible rewards. Beguiling Grace. Primrose's super expensive spell generates a completely random effect, be it full BP (or no BP) your items falling our of your pockets, summoning a random monster (on either team) and the most valuable outcome of all: extra XP. It's made the combat so enjoyable, I cannot recommend it enough.

This game feels like the games of yesteryear but improved for today's nuances and its a blast! Combat is great, story (per character, don't expect them to come together or even acknowledge each other) is on par/interesting on an individual basis, and graphics are fun to look at!

This game is probably one of the under the radar games for the Switch this year. Not many people knew about this game until it blew up all over social media. It's a traditional turn-based RPG with a class system and basic dungeon crawling. The music is great and so is the voice acting (when there is). The 16-bit graphics will give you that nostalgic feel, but do not hamper from the experience it tries to convey.

This game is wonderful. Graphics; characters; music; everything is polished and beautiful, to the most finite detail. Fans itching for that turned based JRPG in their life absolutely will not want to pass this title up.

Love everything about this game. The artwork, music, and gameplay are all amazing! The battles are a lot of fun but definitely require some strategy to use them. Looking forward to trying other characters in the game.

I am loving this game. It has a great art style and combat. Recommended if you are a fan of old school JRPG's. If you are not a fan of them, this may not be the game for you.

Couldn't be more satisfied. It is very hard to put down. Even the grinding the game puts your through is overly satisfying you can get carried away and do too much. The only thing that would make this game better is the ability to attack/defend outside of battle mode, or some concept near or around the same. Overall, this game is pure art, but way more fun.

After getting past the slow start and finding more characters to use, the game becomes extremely fun. Gameplay is excellent. I never liked jrpg games before, but I gave this one a try and so far it has far exceeded my expectations.

Great battle system that will get you plenty of hours of enjoyment. Can be pretty difficult at times though.

Graphics: This game looks like made by a small development group. The graphics is terrible and blurry especially when you use TV mode. The game is pixel style graphics and bring you back to 1998 but I have to say today is 2018. The characters looks like bundles of squares moving and it is impossible to see character's face. What? I paid $59.99 + tax for a old GBA game?? What a joke! I would say this game only worth $29.99 according to graphics. Totally wasted UE4 engine. Music: Very good no complaints. Battle: Good. Typical JRPG style and turn-based. You need to have your strategy for some foe. Story: This is the kernel for a JRPG game but I am very disappointed. The story is a little boring it is good for people who under 12. There are 8 separated stories but there are scattered because director failed to fuse them together. Characters: Everyone is chattery. Right there are lots of texts in the game however I think at least 50% talkings are useless. Overall I would NOT recommend this game if they asking $59.99.

It’s a great story driven game guaranteed to provide tons of hours of exciting rpgs styles of old. It’s a excellent gem to have in your collection. Don’t pass it up

I've been playing for several hours and I can't express enough how well this game is. You're in for a good amount of invested hours but the experience is just amazing. Supper recommended!!

Best RPG game on the Switch hands down. Amazing soundtrack, amazing stories and value! Wow!
