Solid Specs with Only A Few Deficiencies
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Omen desktop is a solid performer having the latest Kaby Lake Intel processors and an Nvidia 1060 video card. The unit also looks great with a multicolor light vertically on the front. I do flight simulation and loaded up X-Plane 11 which is the latest version and pretty power intensive. I set all graphic settings to the highest levels and the game ran smoothly which was a bit surprising. I also loaded Starcraft 2 and used Ultra settings and the game ran flawlessly. My only concern is the unit came with 8 GB RAM. For a general purpose desktop this is sufficient but for a gaming machine more RAM is better. I did purchase an additional 8GB RAM for $50 and it made the system run even better. It should be noted that the unit can also be upgraded from the i5 processor installed to an i7 at a later time if desired. Overall pleased with the system and performance I have seen so far.

Amazing value, perfect VR experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this PC with Oculus Bundle. i5-7400 is sufficient for most applications 8GB DDR4-2133 is showing up as 2400MHZ in windows (faster than advertised) 500W power supply has 8 pin PCI-E adapter, so you can plug in GTX1080 in the future without changing out the supply. Made in Germany. GTX1060 is very fast, game play in oculus is very smooth, never had stuttering, passmark showed this card at 92nd percentile (top 8%) for 3D benchmark. Case looks very cool 1TB hard drive is pretty average. I swapped out with a 250GB Samsung SSD. Passmark is showing this computer ranked 77th percentile (top 23%) with hard drive and top 16% with SSD. Computer came with Bluetooth, built in wifi make it convenient to place around the house. This is an amazing value, I looked up on the cost of building a PC with similar specs, would cost $800-$900 with a windows license. This PC is cheaper and built well and tested. HP really impressed me with this OMEN PC

not bad but not perfect.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.got mines on sale for $720. the good news is i can play most games on medium-high setting. some older games on ultra settings. only reason why i took off a star is because the system lags sometimes. and sometimes it boots very fast and sometimes it boots very slow. depending on its mood. maybe adding a ssd might fix it tho. hopefully i will add an ssd in the future. otherwise, it pretty good. tho i wouldn't pay the full price for it. if u could get it on sale then its a better deal. i did manage to take off the side panel and the motherboard is very basic. only 2 slots for ram and 3 sata ports.but only 1 sata port available. so u can add 1 ssd. also seems to have a m.2 port but its taken up by the wireless card. but for the price its a good computer. hopefully it lasts a while. my last computer i had was a dell studio xps and a ram stick decided to go out on it.. but i bought it like in 2010 so it was time for an upgrade either way. i would recommend this computer if u could find it on sale for a good price.

high quality but dissapointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.out the box very happy but after a week iam considering taking it back and i probably will, not at all happy with the cheap chip set on it will only support 16 gigs of ram,and it only comes with one stick in it so its not even dual channel, very un happy with "sudo"gtx1060 wich is what made me buy it in the first place it dosnt even have any kind of cooling at all its just a plain board not even a heat sink?,this is just not the kind of chipset or video card i would expect to get on a gameing desktop it would be easy to build a much better machine for this price, will never buy another big name oem desktop again, with researching it for weeks
