Great receiver great price

Onkyo TX-NR709

Onkyo will replace the board under through a warranty program as this has been identified as a known issue with these units. Onkyo repaired the unit at no cost to me and provided and additional one year warranty. The unit has been outstanding with the exception of the issue which Onkyo has addressed. Lots of features works nicely with my ML Theos speakers.

Nice Surround Sound Receiver

Negatives are no ability for 2 sets of front speakers, as well as the power available, while said to be 700 watts total, does not appear very strong. This receiver is powering Infinity speakers...nothing abnormal here. Not saying it doesn't have a decent punch, but I have to keep the volume control on the upper end.

Great receiver for the price

This receiver was reasonably priced and extremely easy to install. The HDMI ports are pre-named, which made programing my remote very easy. The only frustration experienced so far is that the receiver changes from Cable/Satellite to TV on initial start up. It's easy enough to switch back, just a little frustrating.
