Sound is great! The set up is not as user friendly as it could be. I got it figured out eventually though. When you plug in the set up microphone an on screen (tv) menu comes up and you go from there.

Had a perfectly fine reciever but this hand me down was probably 30 years old, works fine but no HDMI Ports. Needed something reliable and affordable for all my systems. This definitely does the job.

After purchasing a house with built in speakers, this was a great and easy way to utilize the speakers in the house.

The only thing that does not work as well (and it could be my lg oled tv) the link sync and hdmi arc prevents audio from playing if you let the receiver automatically switch inputs by activity.

With not wanting to put much into a new receiver because of new models coming out, this onkyobwill do the job till I'm ready to upgrade to more power

i didnt review the amp online the sales associate was very smart and as i am in the music industry and this was a personal purchase i found him very informative and competent and i was sold

I had another Receiver that had issues with the 4th HDMI port NOT allowing Visual to transfer. This unit has been a very good and reliable replacement for the other unit. Good cost factor.

The problem with this receiver (as with most Surround Sound receivers) is that it is very complicated to set up and that the quick start directions that come with the unit are terrible. You really can't get the unit working correctly because the instructions don't properly explain what has to be done to get it working. The manufacturers of receivers these days do not want to invest in printing out a full format manual. Instead, they want you to download the manual from the Internet, in order to save money. I did download the manual, but even then I had too much trouble hooking it up. Best Buy was no help either. I called the local store for assistance but was told that the Best Buy associates were so busy they couldn't come to the phone. I became so frustrated that I returned the unit the same day that I bought it to that very store. It was really for the best, however. The next day I saw Best Buy's ad for a Sony receiver around the same price as the Onkyo. What hit me about the ad was that it mentioned that the Sony would work with 3-D signals. I had not considered that a factor with the Onkyo. I had just assumed that it would work with my 3-D capable LG television. It would truly have been a nightmare if I was able to set it up and then found out it would not process the signals of the 3-D movie I wanted to watch (and hear). Anyway, I bought the Sony and downloaded the manual to it. By this time I had acquired enough knowledge through trial and error and experimentation that I was able to hook the Sony up without too much trouble. It works and sounds great. I really can't tell you how well the Onkyo works because I never heard it. Onkyo really needs to improve the instructions for their receiver.

Bought this receiver to run my tv but couldn't get it to work. Put this one in my office and went and bought aYamaha which worked the first time. No idea why the Onkyo would not work.

Easy to connect. My only problem with it is the noticeable delay in video. Whenever I am paying anything through this received, there is an obvious delay in the video and audio is ahead.

Over all, I was pleased until after 8 months, the audio feed for my Cable died. I switched to using the game HDMI port and in less than a month, it too lost audio. After researching the issue, to see if there was something I was doing wrong, I found that Onkio has had this issue iin their products. I can not endorse the purchase of this product.

This is my second Onkyo receiver, and as I expected, it rocks the House. They always make excellent products that work as advertised and impressed everyone! Fan for life.

love this receiver it's very powerful yet it will not distort small speakers and picture quality through it is excellent. Also bluetooth connectivity is fast and clear!

Good system. Sounds good. Only negative I encountered is the Bluetooth connection with my iPhone is not very clear. My small Bluetooth speaker in the shower seems more clear.

The receiver I purchased on clearance as mine had died. The receiver works fine with my speakers. Would have like to had some help and made sure I made the right choice

The receiver is awesome. The only complaint I had is that I called into the store with a question and they wanted to charge me over a $100 to help me with the receiver.

I have owned 2 other Onkyo AVRs with good support from Onkyo. This unit was a steal for the price and its features are perfect for me. Setup was easy.

great system- does an easy, self-assessment of the room acoustics and is easily expandable for future growth!

Sounds good not real user friendly had yahamas in the past. Works great just takes a lot of time to get use to
