Customers find value in the TX 7.2-Ch. Hi-Res 4K HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver's exceptional sound quality and ease of use, frequently praising its setup and Bluetooth capabilities. While some users noted the receiver's size and a few issues with the remote and zone 2 functionality, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs these concerns. Many also appreciate the receiver's features and price point.

Great AVR and great price. An excellent value. Will gladly purchase again. Get's loud and still has more to go in my little humble system downstairs.

I have a 19 speaker system, including 4 powered 12" subs and I can't even turn it up without disturbing neighbors. The music is so clear I could easily throw a block party with it. I added four PRV horns to the mix, you can hear the vocals down the street. I love this stereo, but I must admit remote is just okay. I love the quality of the music that this stereo puts out, I would not hesitate to purchase this again. And I really don't even use all the options.

This receiver has plenty of power and great sound. I’m having opportunities with the HDMI ARC between the TV & Receiver....May be the actual cable, we’ll see. Other than that great receiver!

Love this unit. It puts out great, clean sound. The tuner is very sensitive pulling in multiple FM stereo stations which is one of my favorite features. It connects to the home wifi router as well as blue tooth. I've run my cd player, Ruku, DVD player and cable set top box through the receiver which makes it easier to connect to the TV. There's only one cable to the TV now. And I'm not certain but I think it makes the TV picture a little better. And everything can be operated by included remote control and a phone app.

This was my first receiver purchase in several years. I've been researching these for a couple of years and found the onkyo products seemed to have the best bang for the bucks. I was not disappointed with this unit. It does everything I needed it to do, everything I do want it to do, and some things I didn't know I needed or wanted. Installation and setup was a breeze. The setup mic is priceless to a surround newbie. It automatically balances the speaker levels to your listening environment. Are there better receivers available? Yes Do they cost more, dang straight.

I had been looking at replacing an older Onkyo unit with a networked version for a couple of years, and found this one as an "open-box." While the open-box item was sold in the box, with the manufacturers tape sealed, it was obvious that it had been opened. The instructions had been colored on by a child, the Styrofoam was cracked, and one of the antennas was popped off. (wire still attached, so less of an issue) The calibration mic was also missing, but I had a spare from another unit. The unit includes 7 HDMI inputs, which covers a lot more inputs than I would need. They are also pre-labeled, and include options such as "streaming box" so the remote makes more sense to someone who is not familiar with the system setup. There are also a lot of non-HDMI inputs, though I do not know if the system can up-convert to an HDMI-out since this is not a feature I tried to test. The "Chromecast Inside" does work, though the setup is slightly more complicated than a standard Chromecast unit since getting Google's Home app to recognize the speaker means going a couple of menu items buried in the setup routine first. The Chromecast included in the system is audio only, and as noted on other reviews can be a bit slow to start. The advantage is that when it is initiated, the system will automatically turn on and switch to it without any outside system such as a Harmony Remote. Since this system is networked with Google Assistant controls baked in, it also has the added benefit of being controlled via Google Home. I am still in the process of setting things up, so my initial test of asking Google to turn the system on and switch inputs may be this system working as intended, or my Harmony's controls also controlling this unit not knowing the old unit was unplugged. The system's name is controlled by the Onkyo Controller app, and I still need to make some adjustments to avoid overlapping names. Overall, the system sounds good, and seems to work as needed. The open-box price was especially appealing, making it a good system for more of a lower-system price.

The receiver had all the input, outputs and power I needed. Sound is a little flat even after playing with the bass/treble and environment controls. I have a spare Pioneer Elite VSX-45TX that blew me away but it doesn't have HMDI so here I am. I don't know where I went wrong with the install but I can't get the sound from the TV ARC to the receiver ARC through HMDI,only optical seems to work. TV has ATMOS and was hoping I'd be able to experience some Netflix with ATMOS. Google might help me but it's frustrating when the install guide makes it look/sound easy but it doesn't work. I'll keep trying but don't let my review persuade you not to buy it.

This is a replacement amp for me. The old one I had for over twenty years got a near lighting surge and would not work on the left channels anymore. I do like this Onkyo as it has a HD cable to hook up to the TV and the TV remote will control the volume. When it is set to TV and you turn the amp. one it automatically shuts off the TV speakers and when you turn on a DVD/Blue Ray player it sets itself up automatically to the settings you want for it. It is not the most powerful amp. But for it's price range and our average living room space it is fine. I hope that it lasts as long as the other amp did.
