Purchased to replace a two-channel receiver and make use of some 5.1 speakers I had from a receiver that no longer worked. This receiver had what I was looking for in that it allowed me to use my speakers, had a headphone output for the wireless set I use while walking on my treadmill, and turntable inputs. Great sound through my speakers and ample mode selections for different uses: TV, sports, music, and surrounds. Would definitely recommend this receiver even if it had cost more. Very satisfied.

This receiver sounds great with my definitive technology fronts and in ceiling klipsch rears but it went in to protect mode and wouldn't work after a short time. This receiver is at our lake house and is not used all that often. It quit working after being used maybe 15 to 20 times. I had to mail it to a repair shop approved by onkyo and it was kind of a pain. When working it sounds great and is user friendly. Hopefully the repair fixed the problem.

This is my third Onkyo receiver in the 30 years I have been buying stereo equipment. This truly is the most advanced one yet. Easy to setup. Works as it should and conservative on it power ratings. Arc is a nice feature tha eliminates the need for a return audio wire from the TV to the receiver. Not sure if the tv or the receiver is the culprit but it is a little touchy and doesn’t always work correctly. Other than that one issue, I have no complaints about this receiver.

I bought this for sale on thanksgiving and it is amazing. Good interface, easy to use, easy setup and great sound quality.

Switched out a Pioneer for the Onkyo. Moved up to 4k. Excellent picture. Easy set-up, excellent sound options. No regrets.

It was very easy set up. It self balances the sound. But don’t blast an Avengers movie with your windows open.

I've had this receiver for a month now, as it replaced a nice Yamaha because I needed more HDMI inputs. I got that AND MUCH MORE! Ability to cast youtube to my tv and have the audio go to the receiver makes a better listening experience. A big plus is the wifi/bt/network streaming options. Almost all music streams that matter are available. Video transfer is clean and jitter free! The auto setup feature was very close, just minor tweaks for personal taste! Highly recommended!

It works great sounds great. Took a little bit to set it up right but once figure it out the rest is easy. Enjoy all the built in music apps for sure. Only thing I noticed is the AccuEQ doesnt pick up my speakers right crossover frequency. Haven't tried the zone 2 part yet. The chromecast works but a little laggy. Other than that it's great. Sounds great, love the dolby atmost and hearing that extra sound you dont normally hear. It even makes 2.0 stereo music into surround.

Easy to set up using HDMI cables and allows terrific sound for TV room as well as Disc player and just overall music sound.

My requirements were:. value, decent sound, and simple connections. It met all 3. It fit my budget. The setup microphone was really easy to adjust all the speakers. The sound is really good. I have RCA connections, so it handled them just fine and I have plenty of HDMI inputs. The wireless connectivity is pretty cool, so I can use the app to tweak settings. I still haven't figured out how to always get the surround sound to play. It want to default to Direct for radio and video games. It is not intuitive to make that happen.

This unit is a really good system. Sure woke up my speakers. Not hard to set up, just follow directions on your TV screen.

The Chromecast built-in feature does not work reliably on my receiver. I haven't been able to reach Onkyo support, but I've tried everything I can think of, including updating the firmware. I resorted to plugging in an external Chromecast device, which works flawlessly. Since all other functions work well and the sound quality is better than my old Hafler separates, I only docked it one star. Still, Chromecast was important enough to me that I picked this receiver over the competition (that, and the amazing sale price of $250).

I've always loved Onkyo so I was so glad to pick this up. Setup was easy and it sounds awesome. This was a bargain.

Got this fantastic receiver at an awesome price. Hook up is easy, sound is amazing. Great value overall.
