replacement Onkyo Receiver
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Onkyo receiver was a replacement for an Onkyo receiver that failed. The new receiver has lots of features and the price was excellent. The only problem I still face is that after setup,it is very complicated and not very obvious to fine tune it. You must have the manual to do anything and it is very large to download and print. I spent $15.00 to buy a copy that was very professionally done.

solid performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.android app works great, more speaker configurations than anyone would want, enough power to drive 7 8-ohm speakers plus a sub-woofer to well over 90Db (really loud). auto equalizer leaves a little to be desired ( I have a really "bright" room) but can be tweaked by hand. Overall, good product and it supports old-style analog components as well.

Decent for 5.2.2
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just spend or save some money and buy a decent 9.2 so u can atleast have a 5.2.4 atmos setup. I wish i was rich enough to be able to afford an 11 channel but whatevs. This is what i bought for under 300$ it does what I want it todo and it is easy to use. The remote is annoying bc I have to point it directly at the reciever for it to do anything. IR Blaster??

Great receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver has a ton of features. While it's not the most user friendly as far as assistant capabilities but they do all work. Can't really actively quickly switch between streaming and TV audio, but again, you can Tons of features, still learning more about it. Spotify streaming, apple air play, Chromecast, etc. Speaker setup is super easy though.

Died after 5 days
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this reciever as part of a complete overhaul of my home entertainment system, so it was a big investment all at one time. I spent several evenings after work running wires neatly, hooking everything up, testing, fine tuning everything. On the 5th day after purchase I was listening to music on spotify over my Amazon fire tv, at a moderate volume level, not blaring, when the whole system just went off suddenly as if the electricity had flickered, except the tv, lights in the room, and everything else in the room never blinked. My first thought was "well thats not a good sign" I waited a few moments and then tried to power the receiver back on, I heard it click but it wouldn't power on. The standby light would go off when I hit the power button then come back on 2 seconds later. After doing this a few times the standby light even went away, and the receiver wouldn't respond to anything, as if it was not even plugged up. I unhooked everything from the receiver and moved it to a different electrical outlet in the house to isolate the receiver on an empty outlet. The same behavior was observed - It would not power on. I tried to do the factory reset as explained in the manual, but with it not responding to anything it obviously did nothing. I could hear it click internally when I would push power but nothing would happen. I unplugged it and just let it sit for several minutes. I took that time to get a flashlight and peer through the top just to see if I could notice anything - I couldnt see anything of note, and didnt smell anything funny that would indicate the power supply had fried or anything. I plugged it back up after several minutes and observed the same behavior. It simply would not power on or respond to any button presses. The most I could get was the standby light would sometimes come on but eventually it also would go out after trying to power up a few times. I eventually decided it was just dead and nothing I did was going to work. I was really disappointed. The unit performed well while it was working. It was pretty much flawless right up until it just died. It was brand new, I had barely even broke it in good in the 5 days I had it. This was my first time ever owning an Onkyo product. It obviously has soured my opinion of the brand. I took the item back to bestbuy where they exchanged it for a different unit of a different brand without hassle. I added the 2 year protection plan on the receiver this time because of the ordeal, just to be safe. I was lucky it died inside the return window so I was able to just swap it with something else and pay the difference. I searched online and didn't see any other mentions of this receiver dieing like this on anyone else, so Im really not sure what happened here. I suspect the powersupply in the unit just went out, given its behavior, but I cant confirm that is what actually happened. It did sound and perform well while it worked, and had it not died I could have easily recommended it, but given the ordeal I just had with it I am obviously not in a position to recommend it to anyone. Maybe I just got a fluke, but buyer beware.

Works very well
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does everything I need. I haven't run the calibration program yet, so I don't know how well that works. And I haven't had any luck so far getting the Internet streaming to work (can't log in to tunein.com). Those are not features I care too much about. However, the receiver sounds good and everything else works great so far.

I love this receiver
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had a 7 channel Onkyo receiver for years. When I bought a new Samsung 65” TV, my hookups were not current. I purchased this because of my familiarity with the dependability of the brand. I use a Roku for streaming. With this unit, now the Roku can be used for volume and turning the tv on and off. It was very easy to set up.
