The one it replaced wasn’t “dead” but all connections were obsolete - it WAS kind of old! The new one is a charm and easier to work than te old one. I (senior citizen!) did have to ask a friend to set up up the way I wanted it!

This is an amazing receiver. Music sounds great - stream through Airplay using Amazon Music, Spotify, etc. Also, with PS4 connected and any other Apps playing from Smart TV it sounds great. The bass from the 2 subs can't be matched at this price in my opinion.

I am enjoying this receiver a great deal. The HDR version of this model is definitely an improvement from the non-HDR one (which I exchanged for this one). The Bluetooth range seems improved. Streaming options are an added bonus! Easy setup, clear menus make for a smooth installation.

I bought this for a new home theater build out for use with streaming systems, Xbox, and other devices connected to the Epson HD projector. I have Klipsch speakers for left, right, center, and subwoofer and the system sounds great for movies and music. I would definitely recommend to friends

I have used this receiver everyday since purchasing (7/27/2019) and have had no issues. My favorite feature is the Airplay feature which lets me play music through my surround speakers and extra sonos speakers throughout my house in different rooms. Easy setup.

I've been using this receiver for a month and a half now and it was super easy to setup and works flawlessly with my TV setup, this unit replaced an old model and the HDMI ARC setup is not new but mages such a difference in having this setup family friendly with remotes.

We just upgraded our precious Onkyo with this model and cannot believe the difference! We have had a 4K television for a while now, but haven’t been able to use it to its full potential...until now! We have always appreciated Onkyo for their quality, and this is no exception.

Really nice receiver. Loads of hdmi inputs and was very easy to hookup all my speakers, tv, directv, and Apple TV. Sounds terrific. Easy to navigate and offers a ton of built in internet music options. One of the few units with a Zone 2. Really great Unit!

Setup was quick and easy and I love the fact that it pairs nicely with Alexa for some basic functions. My one star less is that it's not until you get the firmware update that you get Alexa functionality so there is very little documentation around how to get more features working on it.

Love this receiver. Got it on sale as it is an older model. Does essentially everything the new model does so I’d try and find this one on sale. Plenty of hdmi inputs for all of your connectivity needs.

This is a great receiver with lots of featured packed in. I purchased this during sale at $249, normally 500+, sound quality is great, only thing that missing here is INPUT/OUTPUT for CDR, which is necessary to record audio. it would be great if a digital output is present as well. But overall, great value.

We purchased this to replace our old Onkyo receiver that had burnt out. Installation was simple and quick. Cost was great for a simple receiver. We weren't looking for a more expensive model at this time. Sound is great and has many more options than our old one.

Bought the receiver for my basement home theater. It has a lot of HDMI inputs and dual HDMI output which works great for my setup (TV and projector). So far no issues and sound quality is very good with my polk signature series floor standing and center channel speakers. .

I have owned several receivers in my time. From Sony, Technics, Panasonic, Denon, Onkyo has always had great performance and.durability, but my god, why does it has to be so difficult to control and get to you. Great power, Built like a brick....but those menu optionsmsuck .

I have an older model and the features were great. But the sound processing was lacking. By comparison, I’ve always been enamored with Yamaha Receivers’ sound quality. This model, however, has sound that made even an early 80’s action film sound amazing. (Blue Thunder). Recommend this highly.

This receiver was purchased to replace an old Technics receiver we have had for years. We had Onkyo experience as we purchased a TX-NR616 several years ago. No surprise this one was as easy to set up and sounds great in our family room.

Got this on sale. Does everything I need and puts out great sound. Now I can listen to my old records really loud. Was a little difficult to adjust settings until I hooked my PC screen up and made it easier to navigate for this old dude..lol

Purchased this to replace onkyo htb receiver. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase it has all the connections I need plus matches well with my lg 4K smart tv. Added two atoms speakers and now I no longer need to go to a theater to see a movie.

I was Leary initially, but comparing the technological benefits I decided to purchase. Great decision. This unit offers all the benefits of leading brand name units...and the price is well worth the option. Do yourself a favor and don’t overlook this unit.

This is my second Onkyo receiver and was an upgrade from one I purchased 15 years ago. Was time for an upgrade and had two subs I could take advantage of. Audio setup was simple and the sound is great. Connected to a Sony Bravia w/ Android TV using AVR.
