Best Buy had a great deal on this so I had to get it for my bedroom. It has a good amount of hdmi ports, great customization and excellent sound when paired with a good passive sound bar or speakers.

The dynamic microphone for sound balancing is awesome! The 4K ports are plentiful, the built in chrome cast is nice. The use is very simplistic for individuals that might be technically challenged. :-D

The Onkyo TX-NR686 is a beast of an AVR for it's price point. I had absolutely no issues setting it up and it sounds great. And, the picture coming from my cable box through this AVR is nothing short of stellar!

Awesome unit. We had an olde version that was given to us by our son. Worked fine, except one of the plugs stop working, so I my Apple TV wouldn’t connect to the speakers.

I have had the Onkyo receiver for over a month now with no problems. It was easy for this 76 year old to setup. The sound quality is a lot better than that of the 7.1 Sony it replaced.

This has been the best home theater system I've had yet, sounds incredible always, I even bought Onkyo speakers to go with it and it's perfect. I use it as a 5.1.2 configuration for Dolby Atmos. It's great

You is a very good unit all around! Got it on sell! The only reason I didn't get it five stars was bcuz of the setup process and the remote app could be setup better. But sound quality is great! Happy with my purchase!

Excellent, I replaced my Yamaha that I spent $1000 on twenty years ago with this one. It has THX , 7.2 surroind and so much more and sounds so good. I even was able to pick it up on sale for under $400.

This receiver replaces a old tx nr636 that stopped working after 4 years. This has every bell and whistle and is a solid buy for any home theater system.

My previous Onkyo stopped working unexpectedly. I called the manufacturer and found out it was common for that model and they offered a small credit toward this replacement model. I was out of warranty unfortunately

This receiver has been a let down unfortunately. When I first purchased it I have to say it had very good sound, however within 6 months it had stopped working and had a burnt smell when it stopped working. Sent it in for warranty repair and they had it for 3 months due to the pandemic. When it came back it worked very well once again, within two weeks of being fixed it would not hold a bluetooth connection. I sold it and bought a Sony. This unit when it works correctly has incredible sound but it wont last.

Bought this receiver as an upgrade from my Denon, which I have had for years. The Denon was "old technology" and wouldn't work with new TV. I was certain I would get the same, but the Sale price on this Onkyo 7.2 equaled the Denon 5.1 sale. With some hesitation, I opted for the Onkyo. I am overall, very happy with it. Connections are easy. Remote is very easy. I had some installation issues as it wanted me to use the on screen for direction, and had problems finding where that screen set up was on the TV. Once I found that connection, the set up was a breeze. Very happy with the purchase. Hoping it serves me as well as my previous one.

I love that this home theater receiver has lots of power and it is Wi-fi ready. I connected it to a sub-woofer and even regular tv and sports games sound great> Can't wait to really crank it up.

This is my second Onkyo brand receiver. It has great sound quality. My first receiver lasted over 12 years. That’s why I decided to buy another one.

I bought this to replace an old Denon when the HDMI board went out. This has far more options to my Denon ever did and was probably half the price of a new Denon. The only thing I don't like is a user interface.

Awesome receiver with all the current feature for my home theater. Sometimes it seems smarter than me but has great sound and cmplements our LG 65" smart TV.

Will not very sure about it because of the price was kind of high after thinking about it went ahead and got it I'm so happy what's this unit must be the best thing I've ever bought

This is a very good receiver. I've owned Onkyo receivers in the past and have had good luck. Very easy to setup and connect components to. So for everything is working well.

Ease of installation and quality of product made this an easy project that was done in 15 minutes but I claimed 4 hours while the wife was gone so please don’t tell her.
