For video, this seems to be a decent surround receiver. The User Interface via both TV and iOS remote app is terrible, but that's what I've found with all other receivers. Chromecast audio, however, will only work rarely (and lately never), and Onkyo's recommendation is to unplug the receiver. Didn't know I'd bought Windows 8. Since half of why I bought this receiver was to sync my surround speakers to my home audio via Chromecast, I'm disappointed. Maybe Onkyo will fix their software: I can always hope.

Great receiver for the money. What other receiver at this price point would give you Atmos and other main stream technologies.

The unit is superb, but the sales staff did not know how to hook it up! I hope the staff reads this review!!! No one could be expected to know how to hook up everything in the showroom. The proper response is to tell the customer to call the manufacturer. I ended up calling them at least 9 times and the things they told me were very helpful and I knew them to be correct!!! These units are very complicated so, calling the factory line was absolutely necessary. They were extremely knowledgeable... especially hooking up zone 2.

Upgraded from a Sony for the 4K pass through, man what a difference. This was worth every penny spent, and I was able to price match and get 60 dollars off.

Definitely doesn't disappoint. Love the setup process, Wifi capabiulity and the sound quality is much better than my 20 yr old Onkyo.

This works perfectly for what I needed. Sounds wonderful connected with my Samsung QLED TV and Apple TV.

I chosse this because it was middle of the road as far as cost. It has done everything as advertised and more. Very satisfied with this product.

Purchased this on sale for $249. What a steel. Easy to hook up and sounds great. Purchased for the works with Sonos function and that works great too.

So far so good! Sounds great, and looks good. The menu is finally in color which is great as that was not the case on my other two units.

So far it's been good, only thing is that the device is too tall to fit in my entertainment unit, but otherwise its good so far.

I couldn't be more satisfied with this receiver. Very easy to set up, very easy to use, and has more HDMI inputs than anyone could need.

I owned an onkyo in the past. That latest for years. Only got ride of because my nephew was the rightful owner. Onkyo is the only brand I'll ever buy in the reciever department.

I purchased this receiver during the Christmas sale. For 7.2, or Atmos at 5.2.4 and 100w per channel, there’s no other receiver at this price point. Granted, maybe at regular MSRp there may be other options. I have been using it to power a pair of Infinity R162 and the matching RC263, two sound appeals as rear surrounds and up firing front pioneer Dolby enabled speakers and it is going pretty well! Only downside is there is no pre-amp hookups but at 100w, I think you’ll be fine with most entry-mid level speakers.

We bought this receiver to go with our 65 inch 4 K Samsung tv. We are playing the sound through it and it sounds better than being at the theater.

This is the best Home Receiver I have bought for 2019 the sound Quality and Application are easy to use I highly recommended using Sony speaker

Purchased this as a gift. Very impressed with the functionality and ease of set up. Subwoofer requires sub aux cord.

My uncle bought this for me as a birthday gift and I haven't had any problems with the system. Also, it is clear and sounds great.

Man this Onkyo is no joke, I had a Denon and that thing was weak. I love the power and the Zone 2 feature, I would highly recommend it!!

Bought this to replace my old unit because we wanted WiFi and Bluetooth control. Wish it had the individual speaker adjustments the old unit had . Otherwise great piece
