Ample HDMI connections as well as component & composite connections for older game sets. Using as a 5.1 setup, driving Polk bookshelf front and surround speakers. This receiver has far more adjustments than I will ever need/use. The 150+ page downloadable manual from Onkyo covers in detail all connection/functions/adjustments etc. A quantum leap in performance from what I had. Very Satisfied and at what I considered a reasonable price.

Things to know in plain English: 1. your subwoofer will need it's own power source. 2. The initial setup of surround sound will take some trial and error. Buy banana plugs for your speaker wires and save your sanity. 3. The settings straight out of the box defaulted away from the HDMIs. Messing with the settings on inputs and outputs did eventually make everything work. Loving it now.
