Old school power and build and with streaming
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There was nothing wrong with my old Sony Home Theater Receiver, except A. It did not have the automatic setup and B. It did not have streaming connectivity. Setup could not have been easier with this Onkyo, plus, it has phono inputs for my turntable. I am very happy with this purchase. I never "showroom;" Best Buys price on this was about $50 less than Amazon's anyway.

Great products - not so great installation
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having purchased a 4K TV, found out, after the fact, that I'd have to replace my tuner, CD player and DVD player. Not being electronics wizes, so had Geek Squad. Our initial experience with Geek Squad had been excellent when the new TV was mounted and I was shown how to use it. This time around - not so good. First problem was that the technician who came told us he was a computer person and didn't really know for sure how to install the new tuner and DVD player; but was willing to give it a try. Part of the reason I purchased this particular tuner was that I could use exterior speakers also. Sadly the tech didn't know for sure how to do that and first tried to test the speakers that have been in place for years -- sound came out of one; but not the other. He couldn't tell us if the speakers were bad or the wiring -- not helpful. He suggested we have Geek Squad come out to test the speakers and then find out if the problem is with the speakers or the wiring. If we knew the next tech we called would be trained to do this work, we'd call; but till now have been very disappointed that we can't fully use the capabilities of this tuner. This was quite a frustrating experience - wondering if this is how Best Buy gets you to spend more money -- having doubts about having Geek Squad out again.
