Customers are saying

Customers find value in the TX 7.2-Ch. Hi-Res 4K HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver's exceptional sound quality and ease of use, frequently praising its setup and Bluetooth capabilities. While some users noted the receiver's size and a few issues with the remote and zone 2 functionality, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs these concerns. Many also appreciate the receiver's features and price point.

A great product if you have all new equipment.

The product is really good with a new set up but if you have an older product like a turntable it is a little more difficult as our 12 great old Sony turntable would not work with it. The only solution was to buy a new turntable. Also the instructions want you to be able to use a TV in order to do the setup which we do not have.

    Works well when it connects

We had the geek squad set up this receiver and everything works as it should- until it can’t connect to the Bluetooth, has to be shut off (completely unplugged) in order to restart the system. Also, after playing for a while, it will just stop and require a whole shut down. Frequently when connected to my phone, it will switch over to my husband’s when he walks in the house. He will need to turn off his blue tooth in order for me to reconnect - again, requiring the whole system to be unplugged as turning it off and on for a time isn’t sufficient. So it's frustrating. This occurs about 20% of the time.

I have had an Onkyo receiver for 30 years. I bought this one july 2018. sept of 2019 the hdmi inputs quit working. It was under warranty but it cost me $45 to ship to service center. Trying to find a service center to ship to was a pain. Communication from the service center was friendly and prompt. This is the second Onkyo receiver within 8 years for the hdmi board to go bad. This one didn't even make it 14 months.

Not happy at all with this thing. Sometimes it won't work at all. You have to unplug it to reset it. The network stuff was working for weeks just fine. Then today it won't work at all. The other reviews for this problem are not lying. And of course it's just outside Best buy's return window. They know what's going on...

No Manual in box. On-line manual very poor. Video does not work. Just flickers. Initial set up does not show up on tv screen. It only flickers. Wasted many hours checking/double checking. Not user friendly.

Radio Tuner is really basic, and crappy

The tuner wont allow you to choose stations on radio, that wont come in completely clear. You can only auto seek, not manually tune using remote and buttons. Other than that, decent piece of equipment.
