I bought this as an open-box at a great price but unfortunately it was too tall, leaving only 1/4 inch in my TV cabinet. It provided great sound but di not include the setup mike, although the box said no missing accessories. So I returned it and bought an open-box Denon 1500h, which was about an inch shorter.

This receiver replaced a Denon X1400H that was malfunctioning. This Onkyo is more powerful with more functionality. Setup was easy. Has all the bells and whistles of AVRs twice the price, including all the streaming services as well as chrome casting.

we only have a 5.1 system, so this one is great for us. Provides lots of growth room if we ever wanted to move to 7.2. Setup was pretty easy, and the mic calibration improved the sound. Seems to have almost all of the latest protocols and standards, for a very reasonable price.

This, hands-down, is one of the best 7.2 4k receivers for the budget conscious audio/video techno-file. Pair it with your existing surround-sound system or a bluetooth system and 4k smart tv and enjoy crisp visuals and clear sound! Easy to set-up in and in minutes sit back and relax!

Setup on this receiver was a nightmare. There is no included setup informationother than a speaker connection guide. Used the microphone setup first and it needed major adjustments to get more volume. Finally got all levels adjusted and it sounds great. Using a Dolby atmos speaker setup was my reason to purchase this particular model.

This receiver is awesome. Great power which produces enormous sound and clarity. This is my second receiver Onkyo receiver and I couldn't be any happier. It has Chromecast and other great options that I haven't even discovered yet. This was a great purchase. Definitely happy with it.

Running a 5.1 system right now but getting the speakers to run it with Atmos, and dual subs. So far sounds great. Switches easily between disc, movie, bluetooth, tuner. Holds last sound effect on each input. Has enough power to rock the house, and sounds great with quality inputs.

this is a replacement for an older Onkyo I have had for over 10 years and have always had good luck with this brand and excellent quality. The new model has many features and options and was very easy to set up - the sound balance option for the surround sound is excellent and easy to do

I had the receiver installed by the Geek Squad and it works great. I would like to find out how to set up wifi or bluetooth headsets. The one problem with this receiver and why I am not giving five stars is because no information or manual came with the purchase and I have several questions that may never get answered.

Had to update our surround receiver because our Harmon Kardon was starting to go. Found this unit for a great price $255! This sounds WAY better than our older one. Way easier to set up and adjust levels. Have'nt tried the Bluetooth feature or the built in Cromecast yet.

3 weeks in, and it’s powering my 13 speaker setup through auxiliary Bluetooth devices with no problems. Only nit picky detractor is the Onkyo app requires the receiver to be connected via Ethernet to work, unlike my previous receiver app that was more feature packed, which isn’t ideal for my unique receiver setup.

I had an Onkyo that had a melted DTS chip. Called tech support and they recommended this unit, Easy setup, although the calibration mic function did not work and I tried 2 mics. I set up the speaker config manually with out any issues. Sounds clear great!

I bought this to go with the new TV I also purchased from Best Buy and couldn't be happier with the sound and how easy it was to set up. It worked well with the old surround sound speakers I had, but it really came to life when I upgraded the speakers too.

I bought this receiver as a replacement from my older version of receiver which I've been using for my home theater. This receiver was so easy to set up and it has a bluetooth that you can hook up your music from your smart phone and other devices. Am happy in buying this.

It's amazing to me what a difference upgrading a receiver does to your home entertainment system. Considering the price of this model compared to similar receivers in the same class, or even higher end older models, this receiver sounds amazing and the 4k HDR passthrough looks amazing. You can't go wrong with THX certification either combined with all the bells and whistles this offers. I upgraded from a similar model only about a year older and the sound difference was noticable right away. I suggest updating the firmware right away so you have access to all the latest streaming options and downloading Onkyo's application to access all the features. I had hoped Only would update the looks a little more compared to prior models but it's hiding behind glass so it didn't bother me too much. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the market for a receiver and now I know why it got such great reviews and came highly recommended.

I am not an audiophile by any means, but I needed an affordable receiver to allow me to connect multiple devices such as a satellite TV box, a DVD player, and several video game consoles and not have to constantly plug and unplug HDMI cables depending on what I wanted to use at any given time. This Onkyo has a total of seven HDMI ports along with every other kind of port you can imagine. It has the power to run everything flawlessly. To top it all off, I was lucky enough to have had the chance to buy an open-box display model, and that saved me a lot of money. Combine that with the no-interest financing that comes with being a loyal Best Buy credit card holder, and it was a deal that I couldn't pass up. I highly recommend this receiver, and if you can get it on sale or as an open-box item, do not hesitate for a second to grab it. It will serve you well for all your home audio and visual needs.

The ONKYO A/V receiver is by far a great addition to our home theatre system. It’s got to be the best system we ever purchased. You can’t bet the price, sound quality and compatibility with your other components. Highly recommended and easy setup.
