This receiver was easy to setup, excellent instructions. The sound quality is great. I'm using Onkyo speakers with it. So everything matches. I like the network capabilities it has. Works great with the onkyo remote app.

Over the past 10 years I have used several Receivers for a dedicated Home Theater Room I've set up in my home and this is by far the best one I've ever had. Some of the other models include Denon and an older version Onkyo. Among the best features include: the ARC HDMI port which allows me to control my TV, Roku device and Receiver with one remote, the Dolby Atmos surround sound which literally immerses you in the center of all the action, Bluetooth, 7.2 CH, Zone 2 which allows me hook up external speakers for my patio and fairly ease of setup among many other cool benefits. You really can't beat the quality and features provided at the lower end price point!!

My husband set up our family room with surround sound and speakers in ceiling and the entire deal when we added on our addition. We originally had another receiver but thanks to the monkey business of our little people it died. Sadly our system sad idle and unused because of it for some time. I surprised my hubby and purchased this Home Theater Receiver for him for Christmas and it was a huge hit! It set up so much easier than the previous receiver and even I was able to set it up and make all the connections (I'm not technical at all). The basement family room is once again the hub of all things entertainment!

This is a powerful receiver that works perfectly for the size of our room. Paired with our new Samsung QLED TV, we have created a movie theatre in our home. We love to watch movies with full surround sound.

I purchased this initially as a stereo speaker pair driver. I do like the ability to add on more speakers up to a 5.2.2 system. I bought this excited that it had chromcast abilities, I was disappointed to find out it was for audio only. It is also much slower to activate than other chromcast functioning devices I've had, also the reliability of the stream even with a high speed internet (300mbs/sec) when playing high quality flac files from Amazon MUSIC HD, there was considerable lag and made the listening experience not as pleasant. If you realize that the system is good at many things but comes up short on others, you'll be glad you bought it. Sounds quality and features for the price make it worth a purchase. Just don't expect it to perform flawlessly in every aspect.

Recently moved to a home that had an existing surround sound system in the family room. Also, it already had speakers in the ceiling in the kitchen, office and dining room. The previous owner took their receiver with them but left behind a Speakercraft S4 multiroom selector, so I was looking for a quality receiver with at least 2 zones. I have one zone for the surround sound system and the second zone for the speakercraft selector. This receiver does a great job and delivers plenty of power and quality sound even when utilizing both zones at once. I installed the phone app on my ipad and iPhone. The app takes some time to figure out. It is a little cumbersome but is fairly easy to use once you get used to it.

Upgraded a 15 year old Onkyo to this one. Easy to hook up, sounds great. But... way too many things to adjust to get your sound just right and I really really miss a backlit remote control. Still, sounds good and brings me current!

There are several very nice features in choosing this receiver. First, 4K HD Capability. The ability to connect into the 4K world gives it a leg up over older receivers. Second, the ability to connect it wirelessly to your router. Utilizing streaming services for audio are a nice to have ability. Third, 6 HDMI in and 2 out. While HDMI connectivity isn't as essential now as it was 5 years ago, the ability to connect numerous peripherals to your receiver is extremely handy. My biggest con is power. I have to keep the audio level over 50% to provide the type of normal listening level that I'm accustomed to. My previous Denon receiver could do that at 30%. I love the features and connectivity. It has a clean look and easily fit as the hub of my system.

This system is pretty awesome. I had to retrofit my old passive subwoofer to be an active subwoofer with a $10 kit. Works great. The sound coming from the speakers is dependent on the source (of course) and adapts automatically based on the audio track. Netflix is a really good source for some great audio. It’s very crisp. You will need to do some setup to optimize the overall sound. There is a tool that can do this automatically for you, however it didn’t really work for my setup so I configured my sound manually. It will take some time to get used to, but overall it’s a great audio receiver.

I am very happy with this receiver. I would give it five stars except during the installation I could not get my 4K gaming through my Xbox One X to do pass through with HDR or 4K. After spending hours troubleshooting, changing cables and looking online. I finally found a buried post saying to hold the power button and the BD/DVD button at the same time to switch from HDMI standard to HDMI enhanced. This fixed the problem. I just wish it was in the Onkyo instructions or in the on-screen settings. After all I've said done, the sound is great, and I'm very happy.

I had replaced all my surround sound speakers and felt maybe it was time to upgrade my 15 year old Sony receiver. My birthday was on a Friday and went to BB after work with my birthday money and found this on sale. I was blown away! The HDMI made a huge difference in my tv picture quality. My last receiver was a 5.1. I added 2 of my old speakers to the new ones and had 7.1. The setup was easy and the equalizer made everything nice and crisp. I also like you can turn up the center speaker when watching tv or movies. For the price point this is very hard to beat! I am very satisfied.
