Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Connected to Klipsch Home Theatre speakers (5.2.2) and drives them effortlessly. Very easy setup. Would recommend for the price.

I purchased this receiver to upgrade to 4K audio and was pleasantly surprised. I paired it with my 7.1 Klipsch surround sound speaker system which sounds awesome.

came with a dead remote out of the box and thus couldn't set up and connect with the TV...........had to pay the Geek Squad to connect it

Great sounds on xbox music is great alot of features some streaming sources arelow but the vocal enhanced make it work

After 7 years I wanted to upgrade my onkyo receiver.I wanted all the bells and whistles that came with the Onkyo TX-NR 696 Receiver.Its great.

I got this as a Christmas gift for someone and they absolutely love it! Connected their entire house to it and they are having a better quality of sound throughout their home.

I’ve only had it a short time, but so far it’s been great I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing a great home theater experience.

I hadn't bought any new stereo equipment in several decades, let alone home theater systems beyond sound bars. But I have had good luck with Onkyo components in the past, so I decided to stick with it. I had narrowed my choices to this unit or a Yamaha unit with comparable features. The instructions to do the initial set up program could be a little more detailed. It took a couple of tries to get thru the program and I had to back track a couple of times to find out what settings were not right. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the purchase.

This is my third ONKYO in 15 years. Excellent quality and great features. The only reason I updated was to better connect with my 4k LG HDTV. IMHO you can't outplay an ONKYO.

Excellent sound quality, easy to connect stereo and video equipment

Between this Onkyo AV receiver & my new Samsung tv (also from Best Buy) set up was a breeze. Once they detected my Wi-Fi router and each other I'm just answering questions on my tv screen, cell phone and the receiver screen. I was looking at a couple of other brands, but issues with chipsets and not being able to live up design spec's helped me decide on the Onkyo. Also the fact that I can hook my turntable to it was a big plus in the purchase decision. I was planning to get some type of new speaker system for this, but it makes my 20 year old Bose home theater speaker system sound better than my old JVC ever did.

This was a long over due upgrade. Initial set up was simple. It’s been pretty easy to tweak the settings. I have it in a 5.1 configuration Very happy with this purchase.

Easy to set up, sounded great but after less than 10 days it went into protection mode and had NG error which can't just be reset. Returned to BestBuy. Have had Onkyo in the past, not sure what is wrong with the newer middle tier receivers but this was #2 returned.

Been using Onkyo receiver for 15 years decide to up grade to the 6100 great quality for the money

Sounds great on my 7.1 system. I would recommend this unit as a good starting point for your system.

This is by far the best receiver I have ever had. It has so many options, and the one I use the most is the WI-FI streaming to my outdoor speakers. Now, I know I have a chance to win $400 with this review, but I never win anything, and I’m guessing there actually is not any reward at all. I will follow-up this review with whether or not I won or if I received any notification at all.

Had a sony receiver that played out. Replaced with the Onyko and all I have to say is wow, what a difference.

Can’t beat the sound that this reciever has for the dollars.
