Bought this in order to be able to have my outside speakers play in sync with my inside speakers. However, great suprise when I discovered we can have the music play outside and have the TV going on the inside. Amazing product.

Best sound you can’t get good sounds for movies music and games

I actually had a newer Onkyo, but just didn't sound right to me. I down graded to this model and am really enjoying it.

No problems thus far. The only problem I have with these types of receivers with so many connections being used is the room to fit your fingers to tighten wire connections.

This is a good choice for the speakers and setup that I have, for the size room that I have. I basically used a wired 5.1 setup. Bass is good and strong. Their customer service is also responsive.

Home theater installation is new to me. After acquainting myself with the details, set-up of the system was tedious but results have been great. Even made it possible to reuse my old VHS tape player with a multitude of historical tapes. It's only been about a month, but I'm very happy with this product.

It's a great receiver. I have a older onkyo, it had a setting in there to adjust the input levels. The new one doesn't have that but it works fantastic. The setting was called and inteli volume.

My 10year old Integra Unit blew up one morning and I replaced it with this Onkyo. Being manufactured by the same company made this an easy replacement. This is one of a handful of units that allows for multiple room and outdoor speaker use without a secondary unit.

Compared to the new TX-NR6050 the TX-NR696 truly fails. And the 6050 costs $100 less! There are no secret settings to get HDR to work at 60Hz with the 6050. Everything seems quite automatic with the 6050 where with the 696 it is not. Plus the 6050 is 8K at 60Hz and 120Hz with 4K. The TX-NR696 is not. So glad my timing was just right on returning the 696 and purchasing the 6050.

Upgraded from 5.1 to this 7.2. Needed more speakers. Still new so can't really give much feed back. The day after I bought it, the company filed bankruptcy. Guess better get extended geek squad warranty.

Have only had this a few days but thus far it is performing well. Great price on this receiver which meets my needs.

This unit has been an excellent upgrade from earlier models. Features and power output are excellent. It uses banana plugs for the speakers compared to newer models which are now using spring terminals.

A++++ I only buy onkyo when creating a surround system together and this is the newest and best one ava.... I love it and you can you use the set up mic which is included to have all your speaker in sync.......

All connections work well. This is a versatile receiver. Sonos, hard wired speakers, subwoofer, and turntable.

Was not aware I needed a smart TV to set this up to use. Not to mention having to buy all new plugs for hooking up my speakers, and still when I was able to somehow bypass setup, the sound was not worth the price and hassle. So I never use it, Thought I would try again, and it just goes into hybrid standby, and nothing works. I even went and spent the money for a smart TV, and that needs to be hooked up to a computer to set up. Total waste of money. You shouldn't need to have all kinds of gear just to use one component. The gear I grew up with was ready to go out of the box. And it lasted. But everything you buy today costs too much money, has too many toys I don't want or need but am forced to buy, so it can break anyway. Absolute crap. Just sell an empty box, because that is all I have been getting from you guys.
